[SA] Free Uber Rides (Adelaide Fringe) - THURS, FRI & SAT 7pm - 1am

160

Blatant copy and paste from the email

With hundreds of shows to see and things to do, we’re here to help you make the most of the Fringe. That's why on Friday and Saturday nights during the Adelaide Fringe, you can request a FREE Festival Ride! Think of it as a mobile Fringe experience: you can get into the festival spirit by taking an Adelaide Fringe selfie, collect Fringe Dollars, or discover new shows. Festival Rides will be operating from 7pm - 1am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights of the Adelaide Fringe at a minimum.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Between 7pm-1am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the Fringe, open the Uber app, and request the ‘Festival Rides’ option.

  2. If a Festival Rides vehicle is available, it will be at your location within minutes to pick you up.

  3. Demand will be high, and availability may be limited, so please be patient!

  4. Drivers will only be picking up and dropping off within the Adelaide CBD, North Adelaide and surrounding suburbs.

Happy Fringing.

Normally availability is limited but free is free.

Edit 12/2: Runs every Friday and Saturday but may be more as per Uber.

Update 18/2: Now available Thursday - Thanks Saxon

    • The image - It's gone #illuminati

  • TL;DR – Free UberX rides to and from Adelaide Fringe Festival between 7pm-1am Friday and Saturday Nights during Fringe festival season. [12 Feb - 14 March] from Adelaide, North Adelaide and surrounds. Also note that worded in the email that these times are 'at a minimum' suggesting that Uber may offer flexibility of their hours.

    • Not sure we have uberX in Adelaide. Thought it was only uber black!

If X is here that would be awesome

      • It sorta is. Did you use the promotion when they had free rides. Same drivers as Uber X but as its free there is no legislation imposed to my knowledge. There is a threshold of over $5 before the rules kick in.

        • When I grabbed a few funrides during that promo I only got UberX rides– I imagine this promo will be run as UberX as i) running 20-40 UberBlacks all Friday night would be damn expensive and ii) all the UberX drivers that ran the funrides promo will be chomping at the bit to get some work given the Weatherill government has still not got its ass into gear yet.

  • Just grabbed a free Uber to get to the other side of town just in time to catch a show. Thanks OP!

Accidentally found this. Used Uber a few times in the past and noticed the Festival Rides option. Slightly inebriated and thought what the heck - no idea what that is but I'll give it a crack.
Awesome and clean ride took us home and not till we got home did the driver mention that it was free. I was looking for the catch but it really was free.
    Happy as Larry!
