Nick Scali - up to 50% off

80

Was looking for sofa and happen to walk in to nickscali and found it has up to 50% sale on all furniture.

I know it may have real bad reviews online. I have never bought there and wasn't going to with reading all the horrible quality reviews and delivery and service.

But fortitude valley showroom gave a pleasant atmosphere plus the price tag was quite impressive which will get my cash next week I think.

But be aware of the 10-12 weeks wait.

May be good deal for someone seeking new pieces of furniture.

  • We know!
We all have to suffer their adverts on TV.

Hot deal everyone! Leave your dinner and hurry in!

You're using more bold than jv these days.

      Be careful

  • +7

They have a special deal where you order the furniture and get it 4 months later.

    • This is my experience too, 14.5 weeks for one couch (Promised 10-12 weeks). Bought from the fortitude valley store.

I've found the quality of the display stock to be different then the actual furniture they send you. Customer service is not that great either.

    • +1

We had the same at another furniture store in Adelaide. Im sure the Demo models are made of higher quality material than what the customer gets. Next time Im looking for a lounge I'll come with a trailer and insist on buying /taking the floor stock then and there ..lol

and Nick Scali Always have sales. Its a bit like LeCornus.

    • Cant agree more

  • +2

Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Constant delays with delivery. If the furniture wasn't good, I'd never go again. Nicholas needs to step it up

  • +4

    Aren't they always 50% off?

    • +1

      Up to*

Worst customer experience @ nick scali.
They would have "floor" stock on sale but if you pay for it and want to pick up there in the store, they would not allow it.
It has to go back to their warehouse and "delivered" later of course charging $70 for delivery on top of the sale.

    • +1

      Yup, I ran into that!

    • +1

Had the same issue as well.

They also damage it on the way. Watch out people!!!

Ensure you carefully inspect the item you're about to purchase, take photos before and after and have them sign off on what damages (if any) you can see when purchasing.

Bought my couch 3 years ago from them 50% off
Ive been tracking them ever since and im pretty sure they have had this 50% sale on since then.
Takes that long for the couches as its made overseas and comes by boat im guessing
Floor srock may differ from what you get as there are different grades of leather - you need to ask the question and make sure you do
Apart from the negativity i found that there are one of the only mid priced and range place you can get decent couches from for a decent price.

Purchased a leather couch from a 40% off sale at their canberra store, i got lucky and they had it in stock, arrived 4 days later… I must of been one of the lucky ones

Been using it for the last year, no problems at all

    • Finally one positive comment

  • Tried to get after sales service from the Valley store and they failed miserably. Was going to be paid service so they obviously didn't want the money. Leather Lounge has been good but started to dissolve after a couple of years so I guess not that good.

    • The leather dissolved? Is it flaking off in little pieces (3 - 10mm in size) ?

      • +1

He kept it in his pool

      • Kinda…it's flaking in small pieces. It's almost like the heat from your body has dissolved the leather in spots where it contacts with the lounge the most. Like around the back area and arm rests.

      Nick Scaly

    • sounds like bonded leather.

      • Yeah that's what I wondered. Bought what I thought was a genuine leather sofa from SuperAMart (had never heard of bonded leather) and at around 2.5 yrs old it started flaking off. Tiny bits all over the house.

On another note, I am really surprised to read all the negative comments about Nick Scaly. The TV ads (good marketing!) and price tags always gave me the impression they were top quality. Never bought there tho.

        • I thought super amart got fined over the bonded leather. Search, you may be able to get money back.

        • you mean the ads where they have a hot woman dressed up to the nines lying on the sofa ready for a date with netflix?

        • @PVA: I just did a quick Google search - found cases of SuperAmart being fined over a forklift accident, and underpaying staff, and misrepresenting consumer guarantees saying they dont apply to floor stock etc.

But could not find anything about fines over their bonded leather products - although HEAPS of complaints on ProductReview.com.au etc.

        • @systmworks:
sorry about that. I really thought they got done for bonded/fake leather.
, must have been some other company (maybe Nick them selves)
I do know a friend that had dining chairs that all cracked after less than a year and was because it was bonded/plastic coated leather from Amart, positive they got them replaced.

    • Our white leather nick scali lounge deteriorated too. Expected a lot better.

  • I've bought 3 sofas from King Furniture, they have all been really good quality and are really comfortable to sleep on as well; useful for guests or when we fall asleep watching the Telly. King Furniture always seems to have permanent sales on as well. The best time is when they are cleaning out their floor stock.

    • King furniture seems really good. But you pay a lot more too

      • Not when you buy the floor stock at 70% off. (I think they made a mistake with that one, but we took it anyway).

  • Reconstituted leather is a no go zone but they are still genuine leather as they advertised. They are those very shinny looking leather…ask the question if you are not sure or written proof in case anyone lies about it. They normally start cracking within few years. They were really cheap around $1200 you can get a 3 + 2 seaters few years ago from memory. I used to work there for a short time.

The problem is more to do with their frame and foam… Doesn't last long as they want you to replace the lounge every 5 years.

  • Got a couch and coffee table from Nick Scali in Sept last year, got the couch delivered in late December but coffee table never came as it was apparently still stuck on a ship somewhere at sea. Tried to pick up the table as my partner loved it and they said you can only pick up from their warehouse from Mon - Thurs 9-5 and delivery is only Mon - Thurs as well. Maybe they should not drop the price so much and spend a little more on warehouse and store service.

    Should I shop somewhere else??

    • don't even consider them mate! don't go into their store nothing! Their stuff looks pretty nice but the quality is rock bottom and the service once you report the problems even worse…

    • I prefer focus on furniture over nick scali.

Received terrible customer service and they do not let you pick up stock immediately after purchase.

  • Yeah I definitely cant recommend Nick Scali, absolute crooks to deal with in regards to after sales service. I have a case in with fair trading currently about our couch we bought 6 months ago. They delivered a couch with 5 separate problems, I called the store straight away and began the process to arrange a replacement but if only it was that easy! They refuse to accept the fair trading definition of a major problem which entitles me to a replacement/refund. They are hell bent on 'repairing' my lounge even though their 'technician' that came out said the bulging stitching couldn't be repaired… Now they just don't talk about those parts… Evil company that everyone should avoid! There is so much content of bad experiences online that should raise a flag to anyone, I wish I knew before I bought…

  • I bought a Hall Table from their O'Connor (WA) showroom. It took 2 months for the stock to arrived into WA and was told I was unable to pick up from the showroom. All stock comes out of their Malaga warehouse which was a distance from where I live. They charged me extra for paying with credit card and was told $70 if I wanted it delivered. I was shocked by the $70 delivery fee and I op to pick up. Judging from the bad reviews here, I will not shop at this chain store again.
