Was searching for head lamps and noticed the new HA20 from Nitecore was selling on Banggood for $48 shipped.

  • Isn't that site banned on OzB?

    • +1

NO, AFAIK GearBest is the one that has been banned. Not Banggood.

        • Wow great news!
My last order with them they said it was delayed then they gave me a fake gearbest refund. I have a PayPal dispute with them.
I have managed to score a couple of good deals via them.

      • Normally don't have many good reports on vendors, but gearbest seem to have picked up their game a bit.
All transactions in 2014 total disasters, not one delivery in about 4 transactions, but refunds issued.
April and November 2015 purchases arrived within time period, both being dash cams with tracking payments. A low cost item ($5.87) did not arrive but instore credit was issued as well as bonus credits.
Make of it what you want

does anyone else have a problem with this link showing other than headlamp

        • +1

@rps: Yes it shows a search for "Portable Female Women Urinal Urination Toilet Urine Device Funnel" lucky there was no one sitting anywhere near me when I clicked on it as I am at work still.
Maybe the person posting the link posted one of his other searches instead of the lamp.

  • Shipping is a nightmare!

  • Tempting. The review looks good, but I'm not sure I can be convinced to pay $50 for a headlamp, when I've been paying $3 for a torch.

    • Save your money.

Buy a CREE for under $20 and do this:

        "touch" ?

Some of those images show velcro straps, which work very well for many torches.

        For 48 bucks, I expect a Cree XM-L and Li-Ion cells.

Sorry but Nitecore have a tremendous reputation for high quality products most of which maintain excellent IP ratings.

They are typically machined aluminium (this one is die-cast) and most have the newest CREE bulbs.

The XP-G2 is 2.5x better lumens-per-dollar than the old XP-G which most cheaper/crappy brands are still using. So this is the equivalent of a $125 previous gen headtorch source

Go to the candlepower forums if you have any actual questions.

  • Also the reason why this head lamp is value for money is that you can use all of those Eneloop batteries you bought off ozbargain on this head lamp as it takes AA batteries.

If you were to buy a head lamp that accepts 18650 Li-Ion batteries, you're going to have to buy the battery as well as charger and either have to buy extra batteries if you run out during the course of using it for whatever activities.
