nah it isn't just checked, are u using a mobile site to check stock?
sold out in Sydney
checked stores around 2000 :(I get stock on these 2519, 2250, 2026, 2170, 2750, 2088, 2112 about 14 stores for SYD
too far west for me! its annoying that south and CBD all sold out!
@djones145: Yeah I guess they are the most used prob, seems more stock on the outta city areas :) Have a look at the backpacks, the pewter is nice although still might be too far for you
@TRENT86:
messenger looks pretty good, great for travel cause u can slot it on the handle of the hand carryDAMN U DICK SMITH!!!!
might try david jones though@djones145: Yeah agree, already ordered one :)
Waringhah Mall shows stock
Isnt 2026 like Bondi?
OW is selling at $30, try your luck to price beat
http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/targus-geo-…
Guys, even though the site said out of stock, I saw some in Glenelg SA, and I grabbed one.
Dick Smith Receivers say gift vouchers and deposits will not be honoured
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-01-05/dick-smith-receivers-v…
Hahahaha
It's a bargain… For the seller!! :)
Hope they will honour this pricing error.
Now… that's a real dick error.
Sucks right? Errors in favor of the retailers we cannot refund but in favor of consumers they usually cancel your orders and not refunding your money.
Might buy you the bragging right to your mates, paid $9999 for an ipad.
Those powerboards from Dicksmith come with connected equipment warranty. However I can say its a hell runaround and they simply will not pay out when they should. If you're prepared to pay a premium on a surge board, it may well be worth getting a decent brand and from a reputable retailer elsewhere.
Or just ground your house well.
Right, because this is a realistic solution for most people.
Agreed.
Except for the problem of transient spikes created within your house such as a big old compressor kicking in and out.
If true, then you are daily replacing clocks, TV, dimmer switches, dishwasher, and other appliances. Those big appliances create noise - at most tens of volts. A protector has a let-through voltage. What is yours? Typically is more than 500 volts. That means a protector does absolutely nothing until a voltage well exceeds 500 volts.
'What they call' surges is really only noise. Noise is completely ignored by a power board protector. And made irrelevant by protection already inside every appliance.
Profit margins on near zero power board protectors are so obscene that a $55 board can still sell at profit for $15.
That Jackson power board I'd a good price. Wonder if OW will match
Would be great if the outlets are individually switched.
there act is one for $15 with switches but only showing 2 stores in qld with stock so I didn't put it up
Masters has this 3m surge protected powerboard with 6 outlets (2 widely spaced) and individually lit switches for $14.39 with code FRESH10.
https://www.masters.com.au/product/101665811/masterplug-6-ou…How'd the masters surge protection specs and protection match up? Don't know much about surge boards but just looking for some to stock up to hook up electricals like tv, laptop etc to ensure they auto shut off before causing any over heating or short circuiting and catching fire….
Don't think OW stock this old model. They have the new ones which are individually switched.
The metal orange one they stock. Anyway, moot point, most of these boards are now ozbargained… Went back to get some more and now showing out of stock
whateva u do make sure you are not using the mobile site as it's inaccurate stock lvls
Thanks. I didn't think that was even possible…
Thanks Trent. Picked up a Targus Geo. Stock at Highpoint & Greensborough (VIC) if anyone is interested :)
Well I picked up a toshiba starter pack for $15, Needed some padding for the macbook for travelling, needed a mouse and a usb to create a boot disk in case it doesnt boot! Finally my mammoth DSE bargain for the year, all that lurking has payed off (Missed the led tv deals cause i forgot to check ozB)
bargain for iPad pro but then … too big to be realistically useful, any thought here?
if they don't change the price you could get another 5% off @ officeworks :)
or price match @ apple store and try out until jan 6th or full refund.
Apple Store price matches?
Yes they do
Officeworks price is $999 for ipad pro 32gb now

Ipads for $9999!
Thanks OP, Third try on C&C, previous two cancelled by dicksmith
I'm not bothering with DS this holiday season at all. Just not worth the agro to save a few dollars. The good deals were all bought up very quickly and often by staff.
You really need to be a lurker. I have one within walking distance and am on leave, I go there all the time, the list of things I have got and the prices paid for them are literally unbelievable, my last purchase was a d3300 twin lens kit for 249, and then I get a 100 cash back. 149 for a twin lens kit could be a record even on OB, although someone picked up an 1100d single lens for 50 from big w at one point
Yep good for you, but my nearest is kms away, and I work a full time job. I can't be spending time hanging around for a bargain or wasting more on petrol than I'll save because there are lurkers like you.
The last bargains I had from DS were months ago - and they were network cables. I'm set for life, but it was a real hassle chasing 3 orders about to get them. Not for me.
@syousef: Yes it's definitely harder to find a 'bargain' in this site's sense of the word, in that it needs to be 10 plus confirmed, available, etc. but what do people really expect from a clearance (as opposed to a sale). The whole reason city shops are always cleaned out of the bargains is that people can duck in on a lunch break or even just leave work if they aren't being watched to get stuff. I guess my point is that complaining that clearance items aren't available is a bit like complaining about any other constant, they are clearance items by definition that often makes them scarce.
I worked out that I spent about 1k on about 5k worth of gear, all bought over about 10 visits, and I don't think I walked out once without buying something. Considering those facts if you were going there with a relatively open mind, rather than the idea 'I am going to pick up X for $X and go home happy' then there were plenty of bargains. The big issue I have with DS is that they often repackage sent back stuff and sell it, and there's something wrong with it. I got 3 from 3 defective travel chargers. What a pain, still haven't returned them.
Yes returns are terrible. I've had other people's pictures on a camera in the past.
Trust me it really isn't worth going in especially. It's not a question of being disappointed. It's a question of wasting time and fuel.
Targus backbacks are good. But I need a larger laptop backback for traveling. Any suggestions please?
http://www.dicksmith.com.au/hot-deals/ds-15m-deluxe-ext-reel…
The picture on this one just shows the 600 series plug. I've read the description, and can see what you are able to plug into it i.e. the smaller modular plugs as well as the 600 series. What I can't see from the picture or the description is whether the plug shown is itself an adaptor, plugged onto the smaller plug.
Does anyone here know, please?
And, for a first post, that was remarkably incoherent.
When does the iPad pro deal expire?
no idea sorry
until they fix the price error
Hahaha sure sure
24/12/2015, was speaking to the Apple rep at the Sydney George St store.
You can put down a deposit and pay it off in one month time.
It won't be soon, given that officeworks is also doing $999.
They did it because people were price matching so much at $949.05 (which is close to 25% off Apple Store RRP) after 5%. Once DSE puts up their price again the price will go back to normal. This ipad has only been out for about a month or so.
Trying not to buy another Jackson metal powerboard… Such a good price bought one straight away, now just can't stop thinking it's so cheap why not get two??? Oh yeah, because I don't have the need for two… But logic is really not winning out right now. Thanks OP.
Anyone know how long the power cable is in this
http://www.dicksmith.com.au/filters-surge-protectors/jackson…Pictured says "Power cord - 1m", just hover over the picture if on a PC :)
Thanks couldn't see it on my phone
Picked up two of those Metal Powerboards from Epping C&C.
Finally get to be rid of my Catch Of The Day 8 Port Boards with annoying LEDs.
Do they have individual switches? If they do I might get one off you, I built my own TV unit and I have a closed off area for the cables and power, so the LEDs won't worry me, however I want switches as some things will be off most of the time.
No individual switches.
there is one in post with switches
Can you let me know which one? I clicked on all of them and couldn't see it, there was one that was sold out and said 'sorry that page isn't available'.
@TRENT86: thanks mate, unfortunately none at all around me. Extra 10 bucks for a Philips one though, might hold out.
@Jackson: I would ring you're local as lots of times in these sales its saying out of stock but they are in store so worth a ring in the morning
@TRENT86: Will do mate you are always helpful, cheers
I bought jabra bluetooth thing from ebay and with the code Collet15 and Click and collected I paid 25.5$ instead of RRP119$
Sad backpacks around Syd all gone
try delivery, a couple have delivery
oo I didnt even think about that. Thanks!
Thanks for that. Looking for Targus 15.6" MCD-2 Backpack but only available via C&C
Got a pad pro gold from OW with beaten price $949
Can you post receipt plz ;)
you don't need a receipt, just walk in show them ds price and they have to beat it if their price is more
How can I upload an invoice, and @TRENT86 is right, just walk through and let them search on DS website, still shows in stock.
Gold is out of stock and that's what I'm after
@Twisty: 2 l8 now both gone, you could try in store ds though as this should be both in store & online price
Edit act 1 is still in stockIt seem I still can buy and pay via list page (add to cart and checkout)
BTW, it seems description of dicksmith provide apple pencil and smart keyboard, would they?
@thunder tiger plus: That's a good point but it doesn't say it is provided with the purchase (nor do I think ow has them in stock). It might just be that those are the things that work with it from apple.
Was planning to do the same thing! Still 949 for a tablet is pretty darn expensive.
Yes, agree. Funtunately, I have a friend go oversea, so I could get tax back, much better : )
Tempted with the iPad Pro however 32GB is useless on such a device :(
Agreed. 32GB is before iOS takes over, and I bet apps optimised for the Pro will take up even more space than their non-pro equivalents.
I use streaming services and my photos are backed up to Google Photos.
32GB should be fine for me and this price negates the cost of the keyboard (almost)
I agree, that's been keeping me on the fence this whole time. I know some people will not like me comparing the surface pro 4 with this but even it has 128gb for it's base model.
Thank you OP! Targus 16" Pewter Backpack Scout Grey can be delivered, so I paid 11.95 for the shipping. Although it's not perfect, it's still a lot of saving for such a quality backpack.
For those with a DS store near you, try Ebay Click & Collect for this exact same bag (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Targus-16-Pewter-Backpack-Scout-G…) and using the COLLECT15 code, it reduces the overall price to around $21.
c c option gone.
Delivery ETA is 30 of DEC nowI noticed that C&C does show sometimes, problem is I struggle to checkout. Even after the Paypal page I get an error from eBay.
Kept trying for 10 minutes and managed to score it.
@CoolMJ: I can't see the C&C option on the eBay pag for the bag, although I can for other items
