Something is better than nothing. All depends where you live and what your power is like. $29 for 700 joules is better than this HPM at $27 which is about 150 Joules.

I started buying these on the premise that you're meant to replace surge protectors every 3-5 years. I thought better to buy average quality (and unprotected) power boards and replace just the surge protector outlet they're plugged into when needed.
The chonky ugly CyberPower 8 port surge protectors are similarly priced everywhere and have 2750 joules of protection and I believe a 50k guarantee/protection for goods that get damaged
Almost went with one of those but owner reviews aren't so good
Looks like its a 700 Joule surge protector. Bit of a Google and it looks like the general recommendation is a minimum 1000 Joule protection for TVs and 1500 to 2000 Joules for things like computers.
