    All stores?

  • +4

Lol @ the 'Online Only' tag…! Wtf are they doing?!

  • +1

Must be cheapest ever. Good find.

  • nice!

  • Nice one!

Says online only on ticket, haha.

  • -3

Pretty sure they were $2 in Mac centre

    • +5

      Proof?

    • +10

and yet you didn't post about it?!

      • +1

Will check again when I get a chance. Might go for a walk shortly. Will post back

    • +3

They were regular DS batteries. Don't bother ;)

      • +1

Thatgs correct, sparkly alkaline AA pack for $2. Enelops for $5 is a much better deal.

  • +1

Ahhh, tropical eneloop's. Will go nicely with this Pina Colada….

    • +1

Don't get caught in the rain with the Eneloops, they will probably corrode.

  • +2

This will break some sort of record.

  • -1

Anyone know if they are selling cheap a logitech k400r wireless keyboard looking for this cheap but no deals around right now

  • +1

Was also $5 at Dick Smith although currently out of stock online. Wonder if you can price match in store or if it scans at the checkout at $5 in the Dick Smith stores?.

    • +1

Why would you need to price match? They should be running off the same database for DS and DJ

    • Tried to price match in DS around 10:30. Wouldn't price match. Apparently there in-store price is still reflecting $55.

      • +4

        $55 for 8 x AA Eneloops?. That's daylight robbery.

    • +1

      Oh lord….

    • +5

I'll buy you and ship to your address for $44.50 a pack.

    • +1

You should change your username to thebignoob.

  • +4

Serious question - what are you using all these batteries for?

I feel like I am missing some major loophole…

    • +13

Wow first time anyone has asked this. Other than just your everyday remotes, game controllers, clocks, small gadgets I have a shrine dedicated to ozbargain and it's framed with eneloops. Some people have even created art with these bad boys as well. You use it for anything and everything. It belongs anywhere and everywhere.

      • +3

Wow first time anyone has asked this.

Actually it gets asked all the time.

If you're like me, you used to avoid using stuff that required batteries as they were simply too expensive, and the old rechargeables wouldn't hold their charge for too long.

That all changed with the Eneloop - they hold their charge forever, they hold a lot of power, and they're priced reasonably well and there's plenty of decent chargers out there.

Now i've got all sorts of stuff that needs AA & AAA.

        The End.

      • +2

Gets asked all the time, someone even made a forum post about it. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/212122

      • I buy batteries maybe every 2-3 years. We have 3 things that use batteries.

        One clock
        One remote
        One scale.

        Literally that is it.

I live in a share house too. So no children. Except us I guess.

        • +1

Decorate the house with eneloops, be creative! (The batteries are very colourful which helps)

        • @watty:

          Christmas decorations gone crazy.

        • +1

@Beethoven: If you found Christmas trees on special at dickies you can use the eneloops as decorations. Done!

        • +1

          @watty:

          I wish.

          Shame.
I will be in Israel for Christmas. BYO batteries. haha.

    • Kids toys!! Dhh

    • +2

      Using?

    • You can use these to run your car. Haven't you ever heard of the electric car? How'd you think they were powered? AA batteries of course

      This is my ride

    • what are you using all these batteries for?

Apart from kids toys and a ridiculous amount of remote controls around the place

I have 30-odd solar deck lights that have a AA battery internally. I swapped them out for Eneloops - this is the one where they actually are MUCH better than just normal batteries. They need less sunlight to charge, and shine longer and brighter.

      • I use normal (cheaper) Nimh batteries for solar lights, I dont see how eneloops main benefit of LSD is of any real advantage in the situation of solar lights.

        • It's probably more that Eneloops are GOOD batteries, as opposed to discharge rate. They're high capacity, high cycle, reliable, and quite cheap.

The original batteries were terrible - low capacity and not charging properly within a year. I tried some other cheap >2000mAh nimh batteries (purple, prolink maybe?) and they started dying after a year.

The LSD doesn't really matter for most things, except that you can count on the extra ones in the cupboard actually work when you need them.

      Vibrators

      • +2

Wow, you don't beat around the bush.

        • Lol good one. Love it.

    • 8 per Canon camera - 4 in camera and 4 for standby. Camera will also power up after months in drawer whilst all other rechargeable batteries would have gone flat. Camera is very power hungry but runs for ages with Eneloops. Also in Wii remotes and balance board (10 batteries + spares). Been using Sanyo batteries for ages (the original Eneloop). They are superior to most others in market.

  • +1

    Hope no one goes loopy.

  • +2

Isn't ironic that the benefit or re-chargable batteries is recycling, yet we buy and hord so many of these batteries.

  • +3

Bugger just read this as I stepped on a train LEAVING the cbd.. FML

    • +2

get off the next stop and go back?

      • Thought about it.. Too much effort

      • +1

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why does everyone lose their absolute shit over Eneloop batteries going on sale?
I've never used them before, would be good to know what's so magical about them.
    Thanks guys!

    • +7

I hear they're charged by Unicorns on Power-Generating Treadmills

      • Just needed a "some say…" :)

    • +1

Xbox one controllers use up batters like nothing… So do toys.. These recharge 1800 times and last for years and years so if you think about it.. You could save a fortune using them VS normal batteries or normal energiser, duracel rechargable batteries that dont last long at all

      • And the more you buy the more you save!

    • +1

Just good for holding charge, to sum it all up!

I got the 8 pack this morning for game controllers :) 4 controllers sorted now! And to think, I thought about a rechargeable battery pack (for XB1) from DS the other day for $10!

    • If you need to ask, you don't need them ;)

    • +1

      Yo.

    • Thanks everyone!

Anyone able to check DJ in Adelaide Rundle Mall please? I'm in a meeting! can't get out.. but will if there is!

  • Anyone able to check DJ in Brisbane please? Missed out the Dick Smith deal this morning.

  • Hopefully there at least 1 pack left by the time i get there around 6 tonight

  • +1

    Don't tell Elon Musk

  • -1

Already cleaned up all the eneloops in South West Sydney

  • Does anyone know if these are available at Dick Smith stores (not DJ's) for $5 also?

  • I took a pack of these to the counter at DJ's CBD about an hour ago, and these scanned at $50. Sales guy wouldn't budge. Looks to me that someone has just put a $5 reduced sticker on the rack, which certainly wasn't there not long ago. Would be good to see a receipt.

    • +1

Bravo prankster if that's true. Bravo!

      • +1

The staff member mustn't have been aware of the $5 sale.

        • Haha people are trying to screw dick amid all the crazy sales.

    • I Can post the picture of the receipt but I'm not sure as to how to add another picture to my post. Could anyone tell me how?

  • Anyone successfully get them for $5?

  • Ok the market street store is cleaned out now, I see many others waiting to purchase their stash, it's not a prank

  • I can confirm its $5 - scans up at $50 but all the sales staff are aware of the discount and override at the cashier.

  • +2

So just got back and brought 6 packs for $30 so was real. Unfortunately Broden was in front of me in the queue with 25 packets so not surprised they have now sold out. There were still some there at 3.15pm.

    • +2

  • +1

    I snoozed and I lost.
