  • True ozbargainers will do a group buy from banggood to save more money! Too bad I already have 3 of the 16000 mah units.

    • +1

Just wondering what you do with 3 of these? I have one for camping to charge 2 phones over a number of days.
Are you collecting or do you have lots of devices?

      • +71

You connect them up to each other so you can wear them as a crown on your throne made of eneloops.

        • +8

          Powerful image

        • +14

if I connect them in a loop will they charge and drain each other forever like inception

        • @havok44: Perpetual energy machine…

        • @havok44: I genuinely want to know the answer to this

        • +4

@jackary: With ~85% efficiency the first one will charge the second one to ~85% which will charge the third to ~72.25% then to ~61.4%, ~52.2%, ~44.4% etc, but since they're all charging each other in a loop it'll either be like inception or more likely a black hole will form. Please don't do it.

        • @buttstuff: So they would eventually charge until they went flat, thank you! I can now sleep tonight.

        • Apart from what @buttstuff mention, all batteries has internal resistance or ESR which causes self discharge. So a pack sitting on shelve doing nothing will drain it's energy given long enough time. Also, the accompanying battery management chip will draw a small amount of energy because it is constantly monitoring the voltage and current of charge and discharge to protect the lithium battery.

      • you see, im a clumsy person, who is always forgetting to put things on charge. ive lost count the number of times ive plugged in my phone, and forgotten to flick the power switch ON!

now the problem with this is, i also from time to time forget to charge the very things that i need to charge my phone, tablet, etc.

so in my laziness (and not very ozbargain-ish behaviour, i decided i would always keep one on charge whilst using the other two units, hoping that i would always have one on standby.

  • +1

Plus 4.8% cashback! not a lot but still something ;)

    • msmhw,

How to get 4.8% cash back here?

      • +2

        From here
        http://www.cashrewards.com.au/banggood-com

You need first to sing up with them then go to Banggood websit through the cashreward.

        • Thanks for the info msmhw!

  • Is it genuine/original? Can I verify it on Xiaomi website using Serial No ?
What if I bought and found that it's fake?

    • +1

Check the reviews and comments here. You can check 20-digit code online to verify.

      • Can you check the code if you don't read Chinese? Last time I tried a few weeks ago there was a Chinese CAPTCHA.

        • +4

Xiaomi Verification Website in English. Hope this helps.

        • There's an english version of the authentication thing. Captcha seems to be calculations so there shouldn't be any Chinese characters even when you're not on the eng version

        • @scarypacman: I did it the other day following the link to the chinese one. Yes, there was still a chinese captcha. Luckily I had someone nearby who could type it out for me :P

        • @Talonparty: huh that's weird. I guess it switches between calculations and words

    • +1

I bought my 10400mAh from banggood and it was genuine, took a long time to arrive though.

  • +2

Can some let me know if the sellers is selling an authentic item. I have purchased two of these from other sellers and they have both been fake and I could only check the verification code I could fill in the information in chinese.

    • +2

If you want to be 99% sure it is genuine, buy from this reputable local store. If you can wait a bit, they often have this model on sale for less. A lot of Ozbargainers including myself can vouch for the top service from this local AU online store.

      • -2

are you on their payroll mate?

        • +3

Riczter, although a bit surprised by your blunt statement, I won't hold it against you as I value and enjoy your as well as King Tightarse's informative, knowledgeable posts and comments here on Ozbargain here.

      • +2

I think ozhunter68 had a link that didn't work (maybe for Mushtato?) He's not talking about Banggood, they are obviously not Australian.

        • +1

          You're probably right.
In his defense I'm also around 95% sure these are genuine, and will also be purchasing my second one of these from banggood.
But banggood is definitely not a local AU online store haha

        • +2

          @Riczter:

Looks I have unknowingly caused a storm in a teacup here. I was meant to add the name/link of the local AU store beginning with M., maybe just as well I didn't.

No, I am not on their or anyone else's payroll, was only trying to help McGeeski on minimising the chances of getting a fake. Although these listed here are probably genuine, some time back Banggood has sold fakes in the past, where the other local store has not ( so far ).

The reason why I said 99% is because if I am 100% truthful, I can't be 100% sure until you receive and test/verify that individually yourself. Sometimes retailers and wholesalers can buy genuine goods in good faith, only to be sold a counterfeit lot themselves. I think you get the idea.

I apologise for the perceived favouritism and confusion I caused.

        • @ozhunter68:

Haha just having a friendly dig, thanks for clarifying though!

    • -2

just pay in paypal then send paypal the verification that its fake

      Boom free battery

  • +1

Oz hunter68, two things from your post that confuse me, one is your 99% comment, I thought you would be 100% confordent in backing them, the other is from this local AU store, I thought Banggood.com was not an AU located setup.

    • +1

Yeah, he's confused ;) Maybe he was thinking about Mushtato!?

Banggood are definitely not local and take ages for delivery (typically at least 4 weeks). However, I've ordered stuff from them in past and items always eventually arrived. Also their Xiaomi MiBand I got was genuine and comments from others suggest that these power banks are too. I would trust them (in fact just ordered one myself).

    • +1

I think he forgot to write the name of the store?

Mushtato.com.au are legit though and from Aus, could try buy from them :)

      • Thank you. I was most certainly not confused or mistaken, just a tad forgetful :-)

  • +2

For those who needs help in verifying code on Xiaomi website, I posted a link on top which is in English.

  • +2

Not a bad price on the 10,000 mAh either at AU$23.66 considering the $AU is down.
    http://www.banggood.com/Original-XIAOMI-5V-2A-10400mAh-Power…

  • +1

    OP- Price in AUD?
Also, does it cost extra for credit card payment? ( eg international transaction fee)

  • +1

Very nice price if you're willing to wait. It's been a month since I've ordered from them and I'm still waiting

  • +2

I bought from them last deal and I can confirm its genuine, but like other people mentioned it takes 30 days minimum for the item to arrive and I am from Sydney.

  • Purchased 3

    • one for me. Thanks.

  • +2

Avoid bangood with regards to xiaomi products. I bought one from a previous deal and noticed it didn't have the advertised capacity (could charge my phone 1.5 times max).

Opened it up and it had pink batteries. Contacted them and they said its legit and gave me 5$ credit.

2 weeks later the device randomly dies. You plug in charge get 10% out of it and the device charging circuit shuts off. You can reactivate it by plugging it into a source of power but that makes the whole device pointless.

That's my experience maybe I was just unlucky.

    • Just wanted to clarify one thing, I bought the 10000mah version.
And also the charger circuit stopped working (not the phone)

    • Strange I bought the 10400 version and confirmed it was genuine, it's been awesome too.

  • Thanks picked up a 5000mAh slim.

  • Seems to have gone up to full price of 39.50 USD

    • Changed browsers now the price is coming up correctly.

    • Naw not for me. maybe its AU specific and you're using a VPN?
Wanna know something that's sad to see? Flip the currency to US$ in Banggood.
Its $22.99 Go Aussie dollah :(((((

      • Nah it's working now.

  • bought 4 :)

  • bought one at 30 bucks from office Xiaomi official online shop two months ago, very good quality.
it can charge both pad and phone at the same time, never worry about battery running out.

    • +1

      You mean mi.com?
Are/were you in China at the time?

Wish I could buy from mi.com more often but my friends and gfs relatives are incapable of arranging onward shipping from CN to AU despite the fact that the relatives are constantly requesting us to send things from AU to CN :(

I can get friends in HK to visit the CSL Xiaomi store and send things but their range is very small compared to the mi store online.

  • What are the dimensions of the product? Couldn't find one on the site.

    • +1

      145 x 60.4 x 22mm from official Xiaomi website

  • I keep seeing these battery deals, are they any good ?

  • I'll wait for mine to come and then measure from drain how much it charges up too. Thanks for the deal :)

  • Dam this is cheap, but from previous experience Bang Good is fake for Xiaomi and I've had to charge back my CC. I've bought one from Mushtato yesterday. Its been ship at the moment, yeah i paid more for it too, oh well shit happens

EDIT: I've Also bought things from Banggood and they have genuine

  • Bought one from Banggood on December 15 and it never came. Had to open a dispute to get my money back as they just kept asking me to wait and wait.

    Just bought one from here

    http://www.gearbest.com/mobile-power-bank/pp_144271.html

Reviews of the 10400mAh say that it's genuine, so here's hoping the 16000mAh one is too.

    • Damn even cheaper!

      • no its not?

        • +1

Lol is that a question or a statement..

        • +1

          @tabboy:
Both a statement to say its not cheaper, and a question to ask why you think its cheaper or whether you were looking at a different product or different currency etc

      • thats in USD

    • What's your experience with this store? Are they any faster/better in terms of service?

  • Normally takes less than 2 weeks for my in country Victoria.. easily have over 50 orders with them and never had an issue.

  • Can I trust batteries from a store called "Banggood"? I don't want my batteries to bang good. :P

    • +2

Depends on what equipment you're using them in…. A certain ladies toy might want to bang good lol

  • Sheeeeit the 10400mAH is only US$$15.12 works out at only AU$19.67 on XE
    http://www.gearbest.com/mobile-power-bank/pp_143298.html

    • How are they making money out of these??

      • And the big question: are they really genuine. That's the biggest issue with these. One q&a answer in their own website doesn't mean much.

        • +1

I ordered one of these 10400mAh ones a week ago, when it arrives ill check it out and let yas know

        • +1

          Just got mine, confirmed genuine.

      • They only cost about 50-60RMB so yeah, they earn

    • +1

Note with gearbest even though they say free shipping you have to add around 2.65 for registered post because its a battery so you have to factor that into the price.

    Hi,

I am not too sure what had happenned.

First, i went into banggood, ordered the item, and paid via PayPal.
Then, I signed up with Cashrewards and click on 'Go to store'.
Then, I went to 'View Orders' and click on 'Refund'.
Now i don't see my orders in banggood!

Later, I checked PayPal and the payment is made/taken to banggood,
and no Bonus 4.80% Cashback was taken off it.

    What happenned?

Did I made a valid purchase (with no Bonus 4.80% Cashback),
and banggood is going to send me the item,
even though the order does not appear on banggood.
    or
Did i asked for a FULL refund (ie. order does not appear on banggood)
and that banggood will eventually refund me via PayPal?

    • +3

How would cashrewards know you purchased the items if you purchased the item before signing up with them?
The correct process is to sign up with cash rewards FIRST, then go to store and purchase the item.

    • Cash back isn't instant. You'll get an email within a week or so and then you'll see the funds on your cashrewards account. Funds aren't released to you until the returns period is over. The 4.8% isn't taken off from the order amount , it's a separate thing.

edit: didn't read your comment properly. Yeah you won't get cash back for that. You have to click on the link on the cashrewards website and then make the purchase.

    • If you pressed refund from within BangGood then you probably got the full refund… The cashback process really isn't that difficult if you READ the instructions. Sign up at CashRewards then find the store page for BangGood and open the page from there. Then proceed to purchase the product from within the same window with as few clicks as possible (for best results) and then wait until CashRewards confirms that the purchase was successfully tracked which usually takes a while. Please read the instructions next time if you want everything to proceed smoothly.

  • +1

Just bought this! Will definitely be keeping an eye out on the serial number and checking it with Xiaomi once I receive it. Heard a lot of good things about these things :)

  • How quickly does it self discharge when stored without using it?

Does it come with a carry pouch?

    • +1

no carry pouch. just the power bank, usb cable, and depending on the packaging, either a plastic moulded case, or a cardboard box. oh, and the instructions in chinese are also included.

not even a charger is included, as you will simply use your own 5v usb charger. hope that helps

  • At 2A output current, this is too high for 1A phones like the Galaxy S3 right?

    • +3

No that's max. Phone will draw only what it needs.

    • +1

In terms of phone chargers, think of 2A as "up to 2A".

You'll only use what you need up to the limit.

  • Cashrewards site not working for me, Click on Banggood page opens, But stays blank

    • Cashrewards tested and working

    • Discovered it was Kaspersky stopping it, Disabled it and works fine

  • -1

How much does this thing weigh?

EDIT. Alright. I didn't need one because I already bought another battery bank that I haven't even used yet. But I decided to buy one anyway, because.. Ozbargain. And because you guys recommend it. So now it can join my Chromecast in the never ending pile of gadgets I bought but haven't opened. Ugh. Damn you all.

  • Cashrewards not working for me either. When I click on Banggood, page opens with below message:

  • Had a few unprotected battery packs bought a few years ago. Now with capacity so good and so cheap, decided to go get myself some shiny aluminium and lithium goodness :D

  • Still haven't received the Mi Band (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/180151) ordered from the same site 2 months ago. :/

    • In case anyone is following this, my Mi Band apparently got bounced back to their warehouse. They contacted me and offered me a refund or resend. I got the refund.

  • Its been about 2 weeks since I ordered the 16000mah one from BangGood, and I still havent received a confirmation email that they have shipped my item. This is concerning. Luckily I've paid through PayPal.

    • it will take at least 3-4 weeks, it seems you dont know bangbad

  • It has dropped to AU$29.98 now!!!

    • Noooo. I got ripped off :(

  • Mine just got shipped today according to the status update

  • Still waiting.. Hopefully soon
