according to comments from previous deals this biggest 36Ah model does 100W in and out with USB-C (says charges in 5 hours with 100W USB-C charger which I think is pretty decent for the size), can do pass through charging, and has Grey Anderson connector? sorry not sure if I spelt that right.

    Can I power my house?
    I mean car

  • Seems pretty good for LFP, would suit some. Although personally I'd just get a second Bluetti EB70 (or probably an upgrade) instead.

  • It’s showing $399 plus delivery.
    Less $30 for prime membership.

Grey Anderson connector? sorry not sure if I spelt that right.

You did, and all our 12V outdoor gear uses them. A much better connection than alligator clips or cigarette/merit plugs.

    • I still don't get how Anderson plugs got trendy with the bush hoons. IMO MC4 connectors are better due to being waterproof, and quicker to install.

      • +2

Anderson plugs are great as they just work, water usually does not bother them, strong,

high current capacity and only need to plug one connection for both + & - or any other two

connections (can also get some with 3 now too ).

There still is a place for the MC4 connections though, but many prefer Anderson and swap them.

        • +1

I agree…. MC4's are good for permanent installations, or for a short adapter cable to an Anderson or such, but Andersons are far better for connections that are going to be disconnected frequently…

MC4's are a bit fiddley if you're disconnecting them often, and you need to lube the oring for them to go together easy and that collects dust… Andersons are nice, big, and crude, you can drag them through sand, water, mud, give them a hose out with water and/or compressed air and they're all good, an occasional spray of silicon spray if you're around salt water and they rarely give any issues…

Also, with things like solar panel extension cables, if it has Andersons either end you can use it for other things also… At about $1 each when you buy them in a 10-pack you cant go wrong… (I did get some from ebay recently that had the metal spring in the housing about 1mm too far back so the terminals wouldn't click together, but that's unusual, the seller offered a refund without any issues so I assume others had complained also https://imgur.com/a/H8yEhJm )

  • Have one of these, and although bit pricy for the capacity (at the regular price, but even at this lower price),

has some decently hand features. The one big plus for this one over the smaller two is faster 100W USC C

charging (great whilst driving in a 100W cig plug or at home using suitable charger), has build in MPPT

solar charger/contrller, and the 25 Amp Anderson out also handy. They sell a 75 W solar panel suited perfectly

for this too (but expensive at full price again). Can buy a 100Ah LiPo4 battery and box for not much more,

but this 36Ah is a handy small all in one good as in my use as a back up.

Would you still say it's expensive (even with discount) when compared to a battery with box when you take into account the extra price of a charger to use with that set up? Most people don't have one hanging around, unlike high powered usb c chargers.

      • A lot of people buying these would have some sort of solar panel and suitable solar controller which

you can charge Lipo4 batteries with, otherwise something like the following will work well for most

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/315974870227?_skw=12+V+battery+c…

For most a box like this will work well for light use using a 100Ah battery, even has USB A & USB C 18W out,

Anderson in or out wired and fused @ 60 Amp each, so much higher than most cheap battery boxes. You can

actuall plug in a lot of 12 V cooking appliances to this like grill/air fryer which use 28 Amp - 35 Amp.

The Kings 36 Amps is still good suiting various needs, but only bit over 1/3 capacity of a 100Ah in battery box.

  • I seem to be having incompatibility issues with my Samsung S23 ultra.
The main type c port charging keeps on stopping and starting repeatedly and sometimes the second type c port charges for some time and then stops.

However both type c ports can charge my laptop fine without any issue.

Can anyone having the 36Ah unit and a recent samung phone advise if sfc and sfc 2.0 works fine for them?

SFC is PPS. my guess is the USB-C's don't support PPS that SFC runs at. USB-C says PPS on the 36Ah, but on my 12Ah Kings PPS is only supported on the 2nd USB-A port.

try the USB2 port (2nd USB-A port) with a USB-A to C cable, it has PPS.

also the stopping behaviour might be because the power drawn is too low, does it only happen when the phone is almost fully charged?.

many powerbanks do this when power draw is low it cuts the battery to save energy (e.g. you usually can't charge tiny devices like TWS earbuds because of this - unless the powerbank has a low power mode, I only know some powerbanks have this feature). so your phone might only charge to 80% or 90% before it gets cut off. which I like for some of the things I charge because it keeps the device battery in a healthy range (charging your phone 20 to 80% is good for battery health long term).

        I did a workaround.
A $5 Aliexpress car charger plugged in to the cigarette port gives me SFC 2.0 without any issues.
        FFS !

Got the 12AH one 2 weeks ago ($99). Works fine. Just took a long time to charge. Need to charge a further hour or two after all bars are full. Kept my 60l brassmonkey for 6 hours and probably more then half power left. (Had it in fridge mode) Much easier then taking the bigger batteries. Dont trust to put in 12v socket in car. Good with extra usb outputs. It charges with usb c.

    • That 6 hour runtime on a 60 lt 12 V fridge is surprisingly long, it might have been on a cool day/night in shade and well

vented I imagine, and fridge fairly full not set too cold maybe? Anyhow, great result and surpassing most peoples

      expectations there I think.What don't you trust regarding 12 V car socket?

Wondering what is the "fridge mode"?

      • +1

Fridge was cool already. It was in the car most time so pretty warm in car. Fridge in both sections. No freezer (can separate to two sections or one large). This fridge doesn't really take much when running. I mainly gonna use the 12ah when going from a-b.
Don't want to drain the car battery. I know it shouldn't. But famous last words.
Just don't want to get stuck somewhere with all kids.

        • Very good than. I used the 36 Ah on my 75 Lt Brass Monkey set to around 4 C both sides, but pretty hot weather and 32 C in van. In daytime it probably lasted 5-7 hrs to flat, at night 7-9 hrs. It got me out of trouble till I got to fixing my main 12 V fuse/junction box which only needed one washer and torqing down tight again to get it working again (I overloaded the system drawing a constant 30 Amps using a 12 V grill cooker lol).

@ozhunter68: Mainly using battery setup in shed. Got 300ah batteries and 1200/2400 pure sine hooked up. 500w solar. Just running cnc/3d/laser from it. And the brassmonkey when not taking it out. So its on 24/7.
Not often drops below 80% battery. Just if few days with lots of clouds. Got a separate 100ah for camping and solar blanket. Cannot run coffee machine with it though lol cheap inverter. First world problem.
