    • Just because there were others that may have been cheaper and perhaps better quality, doesn't make this bad, it just means it wasn't as good a deal as the others, which were clearance items and few and far between.

  • Bargain silversound where from?

    • richie if your click reply next to a persons name you can directly reply to them so they will know you have asked them a question

    • on Tuesday Sydney City George Street

  • Northland has one of those Harmony remotes for $100. Two star wars plushies for $5. Some remote helicopters for $9.95 - $9.95. Some Razer Naga Hex Mouse for $44.95. Some security items down to $2 from $15. 16pk alkaline batteries for $4.

Some of the staff there are very stressed!

  • Reports from Hornsby

DS doesn't have much to offer. Staffs aren't helpful. Turned out there was an IPad mini exdisplay available for $99. However, no charger, no cables, no warranty notes just box. Someone bought it straight away.

Ask if there is any iPad left and he went inside and took out an old iPad 32gb, no box no cable and said it cost $299. I smell something wrong there so didn't take it.

Went to DJ besides and it was a totally different experience. Staff is very helpful and showed us the list. Bought a 3tb segate hd for 79 and a Bluetooth sports earphone for 23 (down from 99).

    All the best everyone.

    • U still at Hornsby?

      • Not anymore? Were you the one who bought the $4 earphone? Hehe

        • Nope lol

  • DS Macquarie park has xbox 360 250gb for $149

  • +2

Just got a RAR soundbar for $23 from in Indooroopilly qld. Also scored a Logitech harmony touch for $30 at Dj's in the same centre. Bargain! TVs are practically all gone so stop yelling at the staff people. I got a 50" Chang Hong for $209 just for being friendly on the phone yesterday!

    • Which harmony remote did you get? Is it the same one people are getting for $100

      • Looks the same but it could be an older model… Pretty sure that I got the last one. Lots of others were scanning @ $100

        • I'd be keen to hear users feedback on the Harmony Ultimates they are buying.
As a long time user of Harmony remotes (have owned about 5 different models) I hate my Ultimate and have gone back to using a Harmony 650.
The Ultimate is slippery and has a curved back, the play, FF and RW button are above the screen and atrocious to use, be warned if you are used to any other model of Harmony…

  • Nothing major, just bought more harmony remotes (now each bedroom has a tv with remote, so I'm now more motivated to bring out the old speaker setups from storage). Got some cases and cables, but nothing big ticket imho

  • Anyone been to the SA stores? Might check out northpark today for a tablet or something else

    • I went to Marion and St Marys. nothing much there - Marion had some games remaining but not much else to see (although I was really only looking for the logitech harmony hub remote that I had no joy with so didn't look around too much).

      • wish i knew too. been sick all day :(

    • Just got here
Tab S were clearance but sold out now
      Ps3 for $150
Philips blue ray for $44.99 and 3d player for 49.99 if anyone is interested in those
      Galaxy s5 vodafone clearance $489.30
      Galaxy s4 4g vodafone clearance $404.60

  • Any updates on Sydney city DS or DJs?

    • Few action cams (no go pro), few display iPads (old models), few unopened 2012 iPad Minis. Some speakers but nothing great. P3 and P5 headphones (sorry cant remember what brand)
edit: also a few samsung tablets (i can never remember what model is current) but there was wifi + 4g models

  • Just picked up a 40 inch Panasonic CS650A series TV from Broadbeach for $529 (with my $10 off mates rates). Usually $1200. Couldn't find a heap of info online about it before purchasing but it has pretty good specs (100hz) and is a good brand so went ahead :) There was still one display left and a 40 inch LG lf6300 for around the same price. I picked the Panasonic as the LG only had 50hz and not stellar reviews.

Report from Calamvale. Myself and two other Ozbargainers got some great deals. Scored security system Swann from $599 to $239. Some helicopters from $129 to $20 and $60 to $10. The other Ozbargainers got a $49 HP Wireless 32GB thing, Sony Action Cam for $99 (glad they bought it and not some other dude, keep it in Ozbargain family). Someone else picked up the 4TB hard drive for $99. PS VITA games gone as I left. Happy days

    • Oh hey man! Great to meet you today.

For those interested I picked up: Nexus 7 for $49, Uniden UH076SX for $79.60 from $250, HP Wireless Pocket Play 32GB for $10, SWANN ADW-410Kit for $140 and an extra SWANN 720P Wireless Addon Camera for $25.98.

I did decide to go to Browns Plains and whilst not a huge amount of clearance stock they did have:

Multiple Sony Action Cams for $99 (they're below in the cabinet where the cameras are - it's hard to spot as it is behind a Sony promo cover), a few marked down laptops, but none interested me. I'd argue there might be some cameras of interest in the cabinet next to the Sony one which has Canon written all over the front of it.

There was an Epson Projector from $449 down to ~$200ish, I had to restrain myself with that one.

I did purchase another SWANN 720P Wireless addon camera as they had one in stock. Confirmed that there were no iPhones, TV's etc.

Shout out to the staff at both stores. Really helpful and didn't mind scanning heaps of things for those of us who were there.

      • any chance you can grab me a sony action cam

desperately need one to recording riding trips

        • Sorry mate. Won't be near the store today.

        • I actually went to BP grabbed the last sony cam yesterday.

    • Oh, there was a PS3 500GB model at Calamvale too that was marked down to $150.

  • Rockingham (WA): don't bother trying to get any of the Swann stuff. My partner was there when it opened and they only had two Swann kits (one on shelf, one out back), my partner says the young girl was unhelpful (even though he was only customer), didn't want to scan the item, but finally went ahead and scanned it and told him as per shelf price it is $1299.

Bought a pair of adidas/sennheiser ocx 685i's from DJ's MacArthur square for $23. Originally $100

    • Great price

    • Oh shoot, forgot there was a DJ in Mac Square!
Still a bunch of games at the DSE there. Nothing in Liverpool.

  • +1

Went to Melbourne Bourke St store, found a helpful staff member and told him "I am not looking for anything in particular. Is there anything you think is worthy to get and you have that in stock?" He showed me the Jabra bluetooth speaker down to $40 from $200 which he said is a very good speaker and value but I didn't bother as I have already have a portable speaker.

  • Got an Acer Iconia A1-830 for $50, and a Galaxy Tab S (SM-T805Y) for $379 from Brisbane CBD DJs. Either of these a bargain?

    • -1

Hmmm… seems Officeworks have the same Galaxy Tab for $429, so not really a bargain. Might return it.

      • I think you're comparing Offiecworks Wifi only model to your 3G model… I think.

        • I guess you're right - I didn't realise my 4G models were worth so much more!

    • Acer Iconia is really terrible but for $50 will make a great Christmas present for kids.

The Tab S is pretty solid for $379. Can't complain with that.

    • Looks like the Galaxy Tabs are $648 (or $579 refurb) at JB Hifi, so maybe a good deal after all?

  • +1

Ok I take back the niceness of DJ BNE I said yesterday. Thx staff for buying out ALL the Bose gear. Uhm, we can hear you talking!!!

Fair is fair. But man. There was a WALL of gear yesterday.

    • +1

Ok. Sorry. I took a grumpy tablet this morning. Heck I probably would do the same.

    • +1

My wife when into a DJ and the assistant was more interested in talking about all the stuff he had purchased than actually helping her.

      • …and yet - just back from DJ Indro - the one sales guy there was AMAZING! - awesomely helpful……
Managed to get a SoundTouch 20 & XT apple dock.

  • no Bose soundbars left at highpoint either

    • What is the model of the soundbar?

      • I got cinemate 130

  • I just bought a (non-new) Samsung 3D WiFi Bluray BDH6500 from Brighton, VIC for $29.70.

Are there any price list pictures floating around?

  • Picked up a Phillips soundbar and sub for $38.70 at DJ DS Marion.
Had the nicest guy at DS Marion, allowed me to check all codes on the computer :)
Oh and hai Mr Shilah ;)

  • Just went to the Sydney market St dj store and they had 4 Samsung galaxy tab s 10" 4g for $379 and 8" for $279. Not a great deal. 1 lady hogging 4 iPads.

    • Was there yesterday - those 4 iPads aren't in the best condition from what I saw.

      • How bad were the condition?

        • Pretty average. Stickers. Dirty and looked somewhat scratched from where I was. I mean for the price maybe, but the two people that had them at the time declined. So assuming they were pretty bad if a day later they're still available.

    • Probably me if it was this morning, and if I got there just before you did, and wanted to look them up online to choose which one was the best deal before I chose one to purchase (because Apple isn't great about putting the full name of the product in text including version on the box, just the model numbers), and then put all but one back, that's how shopping works. $199 for a 1st gen iPad 16GB not spectacular at all, but worth it because it has cellular. Sealed box. Got it because I can take it when I travel without stressing over breaking something expensive. That and an HTC One XL for $69 (same logic… international traveling device) were my only buys.

  • I see DJ's online have updated the price of TV's.. When do they do that? Of course all the cheap ones out of stock

  • Went to a store in my lunch break, mostly people buying crap that hasn't sold in years. Saw nothing of value in peoples hands, lots of people in the store though. Pretty crappy 'sale'. Although as others have said Saturday might be better who knows…

Very smart strategy by Dick though, get people to buy most of the unwanted stuff. Dick will lose a little money, not as much as most people think.

Mirrabooka, Wa - all the cameras have mysteriously disappeared since yesterday afternoon, they weren't on sale for some reason - I was there at 9:00 this AM, No price discount stickers up etc etc.

Luckily went to Ocean keys and got several cameras, loads of PS4 games, some iPad covers and a couple of other bits - SX700HS for $99

    • What ps4 games have you got

  • Any updates on Adelaide cbd store?

    • Going to head there now…

      • Cool. Please update when you're free!

        • Adelaide store - disappointing
almost the same stock as yesterday - just a few less UHD televisions

        • @spacejase: yeah not much there

        • @TNDO:

          did you find anything?
          I was underwhelmed

        • @spacejase:

Didn't find anything at all at DSE, but managed to pick up a Panasonic 3D Blu Ray player for $39 and a pair of Bose headphones for $29 at DJ's.

Also met a fellow ozbargainer there - gave him 1 of the two Bose headphones I had. Can confirm we took the last two pairs of Bose headphones on sale.

Might be worth a visit if you've got time.

        • @TNDO:

Hey were they the OEW2? or new headphones? (or earphones?)

        • They were the OE2's

        • @TNDO: Did you have to ask for price for the bose? or was it ticketed?

  • Was at Victoria gardens SC and got a lg soundplate RRP was 249 and bought it at 59.70 think I saw other sound bars as well and should be on special. Someone else could go in and ask the staff I suppose.

  • +2

I have visited 2 DS stores today,
And what i will say, is there some pretty creative stories from Sales Staff why some stock items that only came on sale today, are not on the shelf, even though the computer shows they have stock.

"They got stolen when we were out the back" has been quoted to me.

I bought it at the time, but now i'm home and thinking about, i'm not so sure.

    • At DS westlakes this morning staff were going ape over missing stock. Blaming the manager. The guy was pretty sick of going to get stock and it just not being there.

      • Yesterday i got this "It shows we have 2 on our system, but people often put through the wrong TV when at the till, so it shows we have stock, but actually we don't have any"

Today i got this "Its showing we have 3 of those in stock", walks me to the shelf, "oh, all of those got stolen when i was out the back"

Both stories from the same Sales Rep on 2 different days, seems like a top fella, so who knows, might be true.
But you do have to wonder.
No sign of any cops or security or any attempts to secure all the other remaining stock.

Just got back from David Jones at Robina.
Was having a look around and asked the salesperson there if he had any sound bars on sale and the guy wheels out a trolley with Bose and Panasonic sound products on it (he was in the middle of doing that, as he was finishing off with a customer)
Checked the prices on the Bose stuff and
    Picked up the following:
    Bose Cinemate Series 2 - $239.70
    Bose Cinemate GS Series 2 - $149.70
    Bose Lifestyle T20 - $399
    Total - $789

They had a panasonic home theater setup rrp $899 and the guy said it was being sold for under $50 but it was already sold I think.
He even checked on the computer to what else he had in stock, and found the T20 available and he went and got that from out the back. It pays to be nice!
His service was amazing! Unfortunately no name on the reciept - can post a picture as proof. Most likely will pop back in there with a 6pack for him as a thanks!

    • Where these the only Cinemates? After a GS series 2 as well.

      • Yes mate, They had the newer one. In the white and blueish box, but advertised at $829 or so

    • +1

Bose Lifestyle T20, nice these retail for $3,000 if it;'s the full kit.

      • Cheers. Well done on your haul.

    • I wonder why the receipt has no name?
Will you be able to claim your warranty?

    • His name is Phil - just talked to him. Said a bloke come in this morning and bought everything Bose on special - guessing it was you:)

      • Yeah just found his name on the Docket for when I went and picked it up at the delivery dock! He was awesome!

My apologies, yes it was me.

  • +2

Whats going to happen to all the Canon 70D's…

  • +2

Could only get one photo of the list http://imgur.com/AFf8x5F

    • "*Price increases should be actioned first"

      • ???!

      • +3

Normal practice for any retail store, so you're not advertising the wrong price.

Price increases in general can be because of the end of a promo or price adjustment. Nothing to see here.

  • Anyone been to Perth CBD or Perth City Central stores? Anything worth taking an early lunch break for? ;)

    • was wondering as well

      • Been there. Nothing Special. Got a Oppo Find 7a from cannington store for 258 tho :)

  • Went to DS Ipswich QLD this morning. Got a TOMTOM GO 60 for $69 after mates rates $10 discount. Nothing of interest in the TVs as the store recently moved to their current location so they didn't have much older stock. I was slightly tempted to get their last Sony Xperia Z2 they had for $374 but couldn't justify it. Staff were very helpful and friendly, but said they are a little concerned about their jobs.

  • +2

Wetherhill Park update: items of interest to me:

TVs - no stock of clearance models
