Extra $20 for a 12 month local warranty. Decisions decisions….

    • Local warranty is not really worth much when the shop is just going to tell you to RMA it.
Plus you would probably want more than one disk making the shipping cheaper.

      • No, as per ACL, they should offer immediate replacement (assuming replacement stock is on hand or possibly equivalent stock) or a full refund once they diagnose it; and then they replace the faulty items in their stock with new stock from the OEM via RMA.

There are many cowboy outfits that'll skirt these rules and make up their own but even notorious M.S.Y. is replacing faulty products on the spot these days; at least myself and a few other people I know have gotten faulty stuff replaced on the spot as soon as they tested it.

RMAs should be handled exclusively by vendors if you've bought products from a physical retailer in Australia and the product is still under 12 months old. Past that, some retailers may still handle RMAs for customers if the product is within the OEM warranty period, other retailers won't.

        • We all know that they should exchange faulty goods but most don't.
Sure you can argue with the guy but you're going to be there a while.

Excellent HDDs. They'll outperform every other 5400/5900RPM NAS drive significantly but I haven't noticed any increase in noise or heat as a result of the faster spindle speed.

  • I ordered the 6TB one the other day for $350AUD shipped.

  • I wanted to get the 6tb but it is out of stock.
