The full list of specs include:

    7″ TFT LCD Display (1024 x 600)
    1.3 GHz Dual-Core Processor
RAM is unknown and not disclosed
3GB storage, expandable to 32GB via microSD
2MP rear facing camera, VGA front facing
    Android 4.4 (KitKat)
    802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth
    Network Connectivity:
        3G: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
    Dimensions: 189 × 9.25 × 111mm @ 270 grams

It most like has Mediatek MT8312 processor and 512MB RAM. Possibly a rebadge or a custom made version of the Alcatel Pixi 7" tablet

Hardware is weak, but the 3 month data pass and Foxtel makes it slightly less unappealing.

  • just as suspected its the mt6572 tablet variant, strip away the data and its the same as the pixi 7 price

  • and anyone know how many channels included in the 3 month "Mobile Foxtel" trial? (there are a few possibilities, and the base package is pretty threadbare in my opinion)

  • Will this be good for the kids to play games and watch videos on? If not, can anybody recommend one? I've seen a few in catalogues like Target and Officeworks for the $70-$80 mark but I don't want to buy a tablet the kids are just going to get frustrated at because it constantly freezes.

    • youtube should be fine, game? unlikely.
I have a pixi 3 before, it's deadly slow even with 1g ram. If this is pixi 7, it should be roughly same performance.

The HP 8" deal on Telstra's ebay was a better deal. Despite lacking in cellular onboard.. but who cares when you got Pocket WIFI

    • Makes a difference when using Google Play credit from a prepaid Telstra account when you have multiple devices. If you have a sim card in the actual device it just shows that one as the billing option. If you don't it lists them all as "Telstra Billing" and you don't know which is which.

    • Also available from Telstra site $99 delivered. 8" & 16G Got one myself.. no complaints.

      • So is this any good for just surfing the web and emails?

        • Very good but only via wifi. The one the op has listed will take a sim and connect directly.
You can get a case/keyboard combo from Kmart for $15 that fits the HP. It is meant for a 7" but the holder accomodates the bigger screen easy.
