The problem is the price comparison is misleading.
$699 is not the regular price for a refurbished unit - its the regular price for a new unit.

    • Still alot cheaper then in store versions

      • +2

Not as much as it seems, the store versions are between $450.- and $500.-

        • so about $150 saving

          @asa79:

No, no saving at all. The factory second does not include the flexible beater or the mincer attachments.

By the time you get that you will pay more than for a brand new one with everything.

      • +2

The obvious question is = what's the normal price for a refurb unit, and is this 'deal' any cheaper than that?

  • +4

Going to have to neg this for multiple reasons. The "saving" for this deal on a second hand unit is calculated by comparing to an inflated RRP / fake market price of a brand new one.

This also has an inferior statutory warranty available (12 months vs 5 years for motor) , which severely devalues the product, and it's also missing several major attachments, which is further argument why saving calculations compared to the new price (RRP BS) is not acceptable.

There is no 61% saving here. More like 0%, if that.

    • -5

Not a valid neg unless you can provide a link for a better priced factory second.

      • +3

Of course it's valid since it can be purchased brand new for less if you take in account the missing bits.

      • +3

penispump has given valid reasons for why this is not a deal.

How about showing how this is a 61% saving from the regular price of a factory second? If that's not possibly then you might want to think about editing your description to something a little more realistic.

I don't know why you are so intent on misleading people and defending this so hard.. Don't forget there are rules for declaring your association to businesses on here.

Also just noticed, in my post I meant to say manufacture warranty not statutory (but still valid either way).

      • +1

Your claim of 61% saving is a false claim until you can provide the regular price of a factory second with 12 month warranty and missing attachments.

At the moment its not apples for apples and therefore deceptive. Negs on that basis are valid until either you provide the regular price of an equivalent unit or remove the claim of 61% saving.

    • +1

      fair call

  • +2

    Not a deal
    .missing parts.
    Warranty is reduced.
