Is this a deal or advertising? What is the usual price?

  • -1

    $320 is still expensive.

I booked Hong Kong return Vietnam flight for ~$70 AUD only

    • What kind of visa you get ? with one month visa only total 60usd.

  • If there is not a significant discount in the Visa, no bargain :x

Too expensive, their government only charge about US$100 for this type of visa, with this money I'd rather spend the time in Thailand instead.

6 months visa for people who work in Vietnam, if you just travel purpose, the type of visa one months only $ 60, and from 23-Nov is only $ 40

      • +3

bull crap, you attempt to trick customers into this 'work' visa while there's much cheaper option available. And if anyone serious about working there, they'd get the employer to pay and get this type of visa for them. And for those who don't get this type special treatment, they'd be better of staying here get some casual job that pay much better.

  • Charlie! In the bushes! Handing out Visas!

  • i bought 5 years visa for only $65 before. not sure how much now.

    • it's not Vietnam visa, this is paper of visa exemption for overseas Vietnamese or foreigners with work permit in Vietnam. and you are allowed to reside 90 days in each time entering Vietnam

The Vietnamese Embassies and Consular Offices are the only Competent Government Agencies, who are authorised to issue visas abroad.
In order to avoid any risks that may arise when boarding flights or at ports of entry in Viet Nam due to possible miscommunication, travellers are strongly recommended to apply at the Vietnamese Embassy and Consular Offices in Australia to get visas before leaving.

These guys cannot be more than a reseller - go to the source directly.

    • If they really meant it they wouldn't allow agents to sell the bloody things.

Aocording to the website, you don't actually get the visa for $320 that's just the service fee for the Visa on Arrival letter. You still need to pay the Visa fee at the airport which is $135.

I have NFI how much it is through the embassy but negging this as they didn't disclose the additional stamping fee here.

  • do you sell visas for other countries as well??

  • Got mine for $55 for five years (possibly ten years)

Pretty sure you have unlimited entry within that period

    $55 vs. $320 ??

I would advice to go directly to the embassy rather than a third part to avoid these kind of price hike

    • Are you Vietnamese (or Viet heritage though)? IIRC that is only for ex-pats and children of former nationals.

I believe the $55 amount is for a tourist visa, what I'm thinking this 'deal' is offering is a working visa which can be expensive. I don't know the normal amount to say if this is a deal or not

      • That's right. Tourist visa now is 60usd, from 23 Nov 2015, it's just 40usd for total.
And this deal offer about working visa in Vietnam, thus it's expensive than tourist visas.

You might want to elaborate on your so-called 'deal' as opposed to just advertising.

What is the type of visa you are offering, how much it normally costs, preferably with references.

Earlier this year went to Vietnam for a first time. Got the tourist visa (single entry) via the embassy in Canberra. The annoying thing is that there wasn't any information about the cost on their web site, when called they told me something around $100. Sent money, forms, passports, all sorted out in about 10 days, no problems.

Few months ago a friend told me that he got his visa (single entry) from a travel agency that charged him about $60. Everything went fine for him too.

My feeling is that yes, the embassy is the only authority to issues visas, but the price you pay depends on the reseller - travel agency, the embassy employees or whatever you find.

Next time I will do my research and compare quotes, not just pay the embassy whatever they want. Do the same, the effort should be worth it.

EDIT: Or just go to Thailand.

    • The Embassy and Travel agent also have a purpose to supply information for foreigners who'd like entry Vietnam.
Because having competitive price, thus almost travel agent supply better price than Embassy. And about security level, they are same.

    • The price would have been $US50 stamping fee + $US10-20 processing fee. You get a letter which you then present at the airport, with a passport photo and pay the stamping fee and get a visa issued. Depending on how many people are doing it, this could take 10 minutes or 3 hours.

With the current AUD it works out about $10 or so different between the embassy and visa on arrival letter.

Both methods work, it just comes down to your preference.

  • Beware. There are too many scams online.
I have rang the Vietnam Embassy before and confirm that the valid visa is from the Vietnamese Embassy and Consular Offices
    See http://www.vietnamembassy.org.au/Consular.htm

  • I have been using Hotels Vietnam for my VOA for years with no problems whatsoever.
You'd have to be crazy to use the Australian services where you post off a passport and pay quite a bit extra.

      $US14 + $US45 = $US59 = $AUD82. Visa at the embassy is $90.

That to me isn't 'quite a bit extra' and I like not having to wait in a queue after a long flight so I'm happy to pay the $8.

      • Plus the cost of sending your passport to them and back
Me, I won't trust Australia post with my passport.
They have lost enough stuff for me over the years

  • A single entry visa from the Vietnam Embassy in Canberra is A$95, so you would have to be travelling a lot to make this worthwhile.
I also understand that from 23rd Nov this fee will be reduced substantially.
