  • just ignore - found the answer to my question

  • Looking for a cheap camera. None seen

  • So is there a voucher code for this? I cant see any on the email but the terms say:To redeem the voucher, enter the redemption code into the redemption code box during the checkout process. You must be an eBay.com.au registered member.

    • +1

You don't get that bonus voucher until November.

      • So I dont need to enter any code on checkout to get the voucher? I want to buy a 4TB WD HDD, so I just log in , select collect and collect, pay via paypal and thats it correct?

        • Yes, but go over the T&C again to make sure you haven't missed any details.

        • That's my understanding - but it all feels a little worrying, like….. am I actually gonna get this code?

I don't see any confirmation I'm gonna get it, hope so.

        • yep thats the way it worked for me last time.

  • +1

Alright, fingers crossed. Ordered memory, webcam, speakers. Used cashrewards.

  • Do I need to necessarily have a paypal account to get this offer?

    • +3

yes, and it has to have the same email address as well

      • That's odd. I just noticed the article 5 of the promotion T&C where it says:

"…Only 1 voucher will be awarded per registered Australian eBay account (and IF APPLICABLE per registered Australian PayPal account)…."

        It mentions IF APPLICABLE…

        ?

        • To redeem the voucher you need a Paypal account with same address

        • @Thrawn:

I appreciate that, but if it's the case, why it is mentioned "and if applicable per registered Australian PayPal account"?

          TA

        • @Meteorite:

I suppose it means that you can potentially pay the merchant using non-Paypal methods for the initial transaction (if they accept it). But for the redemption transaction, the rules state that you need to pay with Paypal using the same email address.

        • +2

          @Thrawn:

same as my ebay email? sh!t

        • @whoopdeedoo:

Yeah what the @#%! - are we damn well positive of this? I feel potentially ripped off here :/

        • @whoopdeedoo:

Clause 19… holy crap he's right.
"Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address."

        • +1

          @hamwhisperer:

It does say redemption though. Hopefully you can create a new Paypal account and associate it to a different bank account or CC. The CC doesn't even have to be under the same name, though it cannot already be used in an existing Paypal account.

        • @Thrawn:

Well I've got multiple emails on one paypal account.
          Scope it out?
          http://imgur.com/OJnX1j1

I DO have my ebay account, registered against my paypal account but my PRIMARY account is the "paypal@domain" not the "ebay@domain" (also my ebay login)

Wonder if this is enough, I'll push this for sure :/ not happy

        • @Meteorite:

I'll add some info here, but see my other post to put the two together for (what I assume is) the full understanding…

I think "if applicable" probably means:

Because ebay sold paypal, if ebay sees two purchases made with the same ebay account (all obviously done through software though - not manually) - you only get one voucher…

OR if they see the two purchases made with two different ebay accounts, but one paypal account was used to pay for both - again, you only get one voucher.

Read my other post - change your paypal email address to your ebay email address - and understand why I said it this way, not vice versa.

        • @realfamilyman:

Ok i've just changed my paypal emails and re-linked them in my eBay account settings.
hopefully that does the trick .

      • WHOAH what do you mean?
        My ebay address is
        ebay@(mydomain).com
        my paypal is
        paypal@(mydomain).com

        For anti-spam measures.

I didn't notice that in the T&C - you sure about this?

        • +1

@hamwhisperer: WOW lucky I read this now but I wish I read it sooner, have you contacted support at all, my e-mails are totally different so I'm not sure what I'll be able to do :/

I understand that this was mentioned in the T&C's but tbh I read them on here and not off the eBay site, I didnt see it mentioned anywhere and made my purchase under the assumption I would get a vouvher, with these promos there really needs to be a code or validation screen in the checkout process signifying you qualified.

i.e. in the cart at checkout pre-ticked box "$50/$100 gift voucher for the month of November".

        • @yacman:

Totally agree on the qualified indication. Also it's my 'fault' I didn't read the T&C at Ebay but god damn I wish that was made clear on this site too…. ugh

        • +2

I didn't think they would have this requirement now, because hasn't ebay sold Paypal? Maybe they've just cut & pasted without thinking of that. Anyway, it's why I haven't posted this until now…

I know this will only (maybe) help some people, because people will ask the same questions over again - but…

This has always been the case with these ebay deals. HOWEVER - I made a purchase in one of the other ebay deals, and I was using TWO email addresses. Only AFTER purchasing, did I realise this silly requirement.

*** Only THEN did I change to the single email address for both - and - I later DID receive the voucher. ***

SO… Get in fast, change your email address before the day they process the vouchers - and it will probably work for you guys too.

BTW… I would change the Paypal one, not the ebay one. If you don't receive the voucher, then contact ebay. Your email address is the same. If they have sold Paypal, they can't check that due to privacy laws. They can however check their OWN system, and if you changed the ebay address they will know.

My point is, I think as long as you change the Paypal email address - and do it before processing of the vouchers starts - then you may save your own bacon.

        • @realfamilyman:

Yeah I've updated it now, fingers crossed I suppose? Thanks man………. I'll be hassling them if it's not gone through, especially considering this http://imgur.com/OJnX1j1

        • +2

@realfamilyman: @hamwhisperer: They haven't copied and pasted it, I spoke to customer support and the first thing she said about the promotion without me asking was, to qualify you need to purchase with the same E-Mail as your paypal account she gave a (what I think is bullshit) reason for it stating "we need to be able to contact you directly at your funding source contact e-mail if there is an issue with the transaction".

I have never done one of these cashback promotions only a coupon code discount so I never was aware of this Term working long busy hours leaves me relying on the amazing website that ozBargain is for any hidden/hard to find issues that can arise from deals.

I have changed solely just my eBay "Billing" E-Mail address to match the one on PayPal. (I can't change my Paypal) weighing up weather or not to contact support to see if there's gonna be an issue, or wait till the weekend to see if I get the voucher then complain (I can still cancel my order if I have to and don't want the item if I don't get the rebate as I don't need it in a rush and it's overpriced by itself). Any opinions?

Seems like @realfamilyman snuck one in previously but you changed your Paypal details not your eBay?

EDIT: I changed my eBay "Registered email address" to the one I currently use for paypal, than I noticed "PayPal Account" Tab. Under that my old Paypal E-mail (same as the one my eBay was linked to that I just changed is nominated i.e.:

          Buying and selling on eBay

Buying on eBay: Your eBay account is linked to this PayPal account for purchases: 1@****.com Unlink accounts.

I wonder if this is where the link comes from, or if it comes from the Paypal account you paid with, you may want to check, if @realfamilyman has both E-Mails the same under these tabs this may be how he snuck under the radar. and a way to do so again if you change both of these to be matching.

        • +1

          @yacman:
I changed my paypal primary address to be the same as my ebay address. [email protected]
Thing is, it was already "bound" to my paypal account, as a valid address,…. regardless I can log in to paypal with either email address,….

I tried unlinking my paypal address on ebay from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]" and it worked fine …..except it then went back to saying "[email protected]" :/
I think it's kinda like steam, my username for steam is an old email address.

So I'll be damned now what to do :/ I'm extremely hesitant to change my EBAY primary address to the same as my paypal one and for all I know, I might be paid anyhow the voucher? :/
Anyone know a way we can tell if we qualified?

        • +2

@hamwhisperer: Thanks for the info I DID change the ebay primary address and kinda regretting it now. Like you I dont know what to do, since my paypal was linked without me realizing I'll just wait it out and worst case return my item through the free return program on PayPal that I've never used.

      • +1

Thank you both of you for the question and the answer. Otherwise I would have been ripped off by ebay.

        • -1

ebay would have ripped you off because you didn't read the T&C?

        • +1

          @eug:

It's a ridiculous rule, the person is obviously going to pay with their own paypal account. Considering the 2 companies were the same until a few months ago and the accounts are very closely tied…

        • @hamwhisperer: It's a silly rule, sure. But it looks pretty clear to me - it's not buried in a sea of legalese.

So how can one say ebay ripped someone off if they simply didn't read the easily-readable T&C?

        • @eug: I guess I'm also slightly pissed this little tidbit isn't on the rules that were C&P here @ OzBargain,……. I (assumed,..sigh) that all the rules were up the top here, not more over there.

        • +1

@hamwhisperer: That's understandable. Hopefully it's more clearly mentioned the next time a similar deal gets posted, as it's quite important!

        • @eug: Just some classification if I just changed my ebay's registered email address to sane one as my paypal one, I'm safe right? I don't see anything like ebay@(mydomain).com & paypal@(mydomain).com on my paypal account.

        • @Garbage Doll:

Your eBay.com.au and PayPal accounts must be active at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay or PayPal) and be registered under the same email address.

        • @nocure: Noooooooo

        • @peterept: Eh? I don't get it. So I'm ok?

        • @Garbage Doll: You're hopefully safe.
The "(mydomain).com" was just an example.

        • @eug: Yeah I got the code, thx guys ^.^

  • Forgive me but I cant tell if this actually qualifies for Click and Collect.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dell-Monitor-Stand-with-USB-3…?

    Where do I clarify that?

    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

      It does not.
You'll see "FREE Click & Collect at Woolworths & BIG W" underneath the "Buy it now" / "Add to cart section" if it qualifies.

      • thanks!

I wasnt sure, but appreciate your clarification!

Now I need to find out what else to buy!

  • Just placed my orders

    $100 voucher #1
    TP-Link Archer D5 $129
Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse $79
    $208 total

    $100 voucher #2
    Seasonic 350W Gold PSU (2 units) $150
    Logitech M705 Marathon mouse $50
    $200 total

Not sure what to use the $100 vouchers on yet. If nothing else, probably SSDs again lol. I have quite a pile now

    • Don't you only get the one voucher regardless of how many times you purchase.
Unless you have 2 eBay accounts set up with 2 different PayPal accounts

      • multiple ebay/paypal accounts

      • I have 2 ebay accounts and 1 paypal account i get the coupons on each ebay account normally.. or have been with these deals..

  • Still trying to find something…. nothing that I need but I am getting "fomo"

    • Ssd, g502 mouse, shaver

      • Nah "need" none of them lol

        • Ps4/xbox online pass
          Video games of any sort

Just received my 850EVO to C&C at Woolies.

This time they seem to have ironed out some of the kinks. Auspost showed delivered today, and this time instead of putting it in the internal mail bags, they rightly brought it to the C&C desk first up.

  • +1

had an error where the payment was "processing" for a few min that appears to of made my order process at 12:00AM AEDT. any one else have this issue with the site running slow around this time, contacted support to notify them of the issue and confirm what time the order processed, not sure they will honorer the voucher though :(

    • Yep, I had a very similar issue, and transaction went thru at 00:00 and a few seconds…… unsure what happened. Went onto online chat this morning, got the runaround, explained the situation etc, in the end they gave me an email address to email…… email address bounced back! Great. Ring them, after after the situation a few times, they said I would get it…. I asked a few times they said don't worry you will get it. I'm a bit dubious, because it was 23:59 or earlier, I'm sure they would have the right cutoff times etc. Why it went slow, took a while to process at around midnight I have no idea, but glad I was not the only one, I shouldn't have left it so late though!

      • +1

@dazzza: Yeah I spoke to them via phone, even though I explained multiple times that I placed the order on time but it "lagged" and wanted to confirm if it was processed in time. She went into the account and verified that I made the purchases and I would get the voucher, (which I found odd) because even though there is no time in eBay or PayPal it indicated the transaction was on the 27th so I the seconds mattered. Plus she wouldn't e-mail me confirmation I would receive the voucher, just a confirmation number, so I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time, and yeah I shouldn't of left it late but I didn't get home till 11:20P.M that night and I instantly jumped on eBay to find the items/ research them and the sellers, then I had to add new payment funding to paypal, I lost a lot of time due to being busy :(

        • +1

Same here mate, long and busy day at work then on the road, mad dash to get the sale through at night! I hope you have a win….then I may too. Do we get emailed the voucher ?

        • @dazzza:
Same. My order went through at 11.59.04! So fingers crossed

        • @mmd:
Yours will be fine, it was before midnight, whereas as was right on midnight!

        • @dazzza:
          Not neccessarily.
T&Cs does state bought before 23.59pm, so I dont know if they would take it literally (i.e. 11:59:00)
Hopefully common sense will prevail and they will help us out as a once off.

        • @mmd:
How do we know if we get the coupon? Is it emailed to you ? Never participated in one of these on ebay before

        • @dazzza:
In august, the coupon was 'loaded' into my account.
So if I was looking at a $55 item, it says Pay $5 only, below the Buy it Now button.

        • @dazzza:
I got a voucher emailed to me. Check your email son!

        • +1

          @mmd:
All good mate, got it! I seriously doubted I would…. I aint complaining :)

  • Diskless NAS and then buy the HDDs with the $100 voucher :)

  • how long does it take to the get the code to pick up your delivery from the lockers?

Items were delivered on Thursday and Friday last week to Woolworths.

    • +1

Lockers, what lockers? You pick up from the Woolies C&C desk, which is usually the service desk.

      • There is a wall of ebay click and collect lockers at Woolworths that the service desk put your parcel in, close the door and it sends you an email to collect.

My question is - the store has said it has'nt arrived and AusPost says it was delivered on Friday and Thursday.
I am guessing a back log or aus post is faking the delivery confirmation?

        • No, more likely the Woolies hasn't processed it. I know from tracking that my Woolies received the goods Monday but I haven't been notified to collect it. They did predict tomorrow though so technically they are not late yet. It goes to show that you shouldn't use Woolies C&C if you are in a hurry. I'm not and I prefer picking up to being carded by a postie.

From the experiences of others it looks like Woolies need to iron out the kinks in their system. It also appears to depend on the store.

        • @greenpossum:

          Thanks for the tip.

I only used it for the voucher.

Otherwise straight to work for delivery at the front desk. Always manned, never miss a parcel.

        • @diddy50: Ok, I finally received email telling me to collect. They said there was technical problem generating the collection code and sending a SMS (if I had asked for one) so I should just show some ID to the staff.

As I said, they need to work on improving the system. I assume it's Woolies and BigW that is partly paying for the vouchers to drive traffic into their stores.

        • Mine arrived at the woolies and appeared to be put in the locker within a couple of hours at most. 2 of the 3 items thus far were that quick to be processed at woolies.
Maybe the Auspost guy puts it in the locker himself even (?) like the Parcel Lockers in Melbourne CBD (for those of us, who had workplaces cracking the shits at us having so many packages delivered to work and had to switch to parcel lockers)

          Are they like parcel lockers?

        • @hamwhisperer:

Yeah various sizes of lockers with a screen at the centre of the locker unit, where you punch in the code and open pops the locker with your packages.

          Woolworths staff fill the lockers.

Got mine over lunch. I think it was slack woolworths workers or the huge amount of packages.

        • @greenpossum: More bugs in the system. I already collected last week and even left feedback for the seller but eBay keeps emailing me to collect. Probably the Woolies staff haven't entered the confirmation code into the system. They need to lift their game.

  • +1

This was a balls up to collect from my local Woolies.

Firstly the confirmation email said they had had an internal error and thus the sms confirmation could not be sent. Then when I go to the store to pick it up there is no option to input the order code I'm given via email - and they tell me I need a pin code, probably 6 digits? WTF? They had no idea what I was doing. Anyway they check my id and write down the order code I have, get me to sign a random piece of paper with this on it and give me the item, sending me on my way.

    Pretty shite really, all round.

I have absolutely zero idea where I can even make this comment and they will find out, as it's not the seller's fault that the service is garbage, so I shouldn't be leaving them poor feedback…

The only convenience of this for me is that I have extended hours (Woolies opening hours) to pick up the goods which can be handy.

Oh well the $100 voucher should help, IF I receive it…

    • To follow up, a couple days AFTER I had picked my item up as above, I got a confirmation email (still no SMS) saying that I can now pick the item up and this had the pin number that I presume must be correct for Woolies to process the transaction smoothly.

      Balls-up all around.

Once they get it actually working as advertised though, it should be alright?

  • Same shit experience with the C&C here from my Big W.

Ordered Thursday, tracking number shows delivered Friday.
Haven't heard a single thing from the shop so I rang up Monday and they said it's there and to just go in with ID to pick it up.
When I check on ebay it still says my order is being prepared and to wait for a notification before going to pick it up.

Sounds pretty slack to me. If it wasn't for the voucher I could have just had it delivered to my home on Friday instead of mucking around with all this rubbish.

    • same here. delivered on friday, item is there in woolworth but no code till now. phew…

  • Ebay is telling me my order will be ready for pickup on the 6th nov. 11 days? I would rather get the free shipping and recieve it this week. I will never use this service again unless another $100 voucher is involved.

    • Yeah, the ironic thing is as far as the seller is concerned the procedure is the same. Wollies and BigW have just inserted themselves into the shipping chain. They have to think hard about whether people who don't like being carded can put up with this slow service.

  • So when the actual day clicks over for voucher payout, did everyone get theirs fairly quickly last time? When should I be concerned? Since I'm one of the ones with a possible paypal account problem.

  • Mine say's delivered to BIGW yesterday, But no email or sms yet, Estimated delivery date was this friday

    • Got pick up noticed thisafternoon ,Ordered Monday afternoon.

  • ordered on Mon afternoon. i picked-up two of my items today at Big W. quite fast turnaround

    • did you receive the pick up code directly when the parcel is in the store?

      • Yes, received the ready for pickup messages in my eBay account in the morning. the email includes the pickup code. the staff at the layby counter just scan the code and get my parcel from their storage.

        • Called ebay last monday, they have system issue. till today i havnt receive any code..my parcel has been sitting in woolworth storage since last friday. mehh..

  • Great, my supplier sent me 2133mhz DDR4 ram and I wanted 1866mhz DDR3.
Sure it's worth more but :/ exchanging it time = meh.

Cost of shipping back, waiting waiting waiting = pain. How do I offload the ram and just buy locally tomorrow? thoughts?

    • Price and size.

      • +1

        16gb, 2x8gb DDR4 kit, 288pin, still sealed. Richmond, $160
        (kingston hyperx black)

        • You can return it and Paypal will cover your shipping.

        • @mmd: I cancelled the paypal return, because I want the voucher - he resent some stuff.

  • I know I clicked Click & Collect for Big W. And they've sent it to an Aus Post Office and I picked it up. I'll be very upset if I don't receive my $100 voucher code. As I spent more than $200 for my e-reader on ebay. Sorry if I didn't check if somebody else posted the same posts. I don't know who else got their items delivered to somewhere other than Big W or Woolworths.

    • I hope everyone gets their ebay voucher quick. I really want mine now! Because the Aussie dollar has risen more in just a day. Just look in xe,com aud/usd. It was just 0.70 cents to a US dollar yesterday and now I predict it's gonna go to 0.72 or more if my voucher has not come by yet. That's like five dollars more for the things I want in ebay. That's a reason to be concerned about or upset.

      • 0.70 * $100 = USD $70
        0.72 * $100 = USD $72

If it goes 0.72.. means the voucher is worth more !

    • Exactly the same happened to me. The item went to Post Office instead of BigW awaiting for my collection, but no sms or email received. I will try to collect the item from the post office tomorrow. I lodged a case on eBay to protect me just in case.

      • Same thing happened to me. Its like regular post but without the convenience of knowing when your item is ready for collection.

        • +1

Yes, it is not organised at all. I collected the item at the post office on Sat. The post office staff told me that because BigW at the shopping centre has a post box with them, so if items attention to BigW without names it would go into BigW box then goto BigW, in this case item had my name on it, so it would stay in post office and wait for me to collect it with my signature. Anyway, I got the $100 voucher yesterday and used it today.
