Avengers: Age of Ultron $5.89 to Own in SD from Dendy Direct

60

First time poster, long time lurker.

Dendy Direct are selling Avengers: Age of Ultron for just $5.89 to own in Standard Definition quality.

While HD would be nicer (and the film itself could have been better), it's hard to complain about $5.89 considering that's normally a rental price and it's not even available for rent yet, only purchase. Dendy are not even offering the HD version for purchase yet. This may be a pricing error, so it's hard to say how long it will be available at this price.

I just purchased it myself and its in my library as an "owned" title.

As someone who just suffered from the closure of Ezyflix… unless it's UV, Google Play or ITunes, don't waste your money.

  • Good Price OP , But over hyped , cash grabbing effort from GREE"DISNEY" Studios, i wasted my money watching it in Theatres.

I can't disagree with any of the comments here, and I won't qualify it as being a good film… but a good bargain - that's why I bought it. Because stuff paying full price for something mediocre. Or anything; for that matter.

    • "Mediocre Morsov! Mediocre!"

This movie… Is pretty pointless if not HD.

  • DRM?

    • Of course, it's through Dendy Direct, and its a major studio release. No studio or stream provider is going to offer something without DRM in this day and age.

Never heard of them and (profanity) them for DRM.

        • Is there any service which doesn't offer DRM?

I've switched to streaming exclusively these days. I got sick of finding storage.

        • @SirFlibbled: Why not delete them after you view them?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/211323

        • @fruit: Why the need to download them at all if you're not going to keep them? Why wait for it to download when you can just hit 'play' and watch it?

Hence why I went to streaming. Less wait time, no need to keep upgrading storage etc. I use Flixter, choose the movie on my phone and stream straight to my TV in HD.

        • @SirFlibbled:
Mainly so I can watch it whenever I want on whatever device I want.
Also I can watch movies in 1080p even though I don't have the bandwidth for it.

        • @fruit: Then Vudu is your friend. Ezyflix used to offer but recently closed.

        • @SirFlibbled:
          Is there DRM?

        • @fruit: There will always be DRM. But you can download the the movie in 1080p or stream it in 1080p.

With Vudu I'm able to watch movies on my tablet, phone, or computer or on my TV via Roku, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and XBox 360. You'd be hard pressed to find a way of not watching it where you want, when ever you want. The only limitation is you have to use their software. IMO it's a reasonable trade off.

        • @SirFlibbled:
Or you know… just not put DRM on it? Do you really think piracy groups are hindered by DRM? Hint: WEB-RIP of Avengers: Age of Ultron is already out in 1080p.

I can watch my stuff in any player on any device.

Are you associated with the entertainment industry in anyway?

        • @fruit: No don't work for the entertainment industry. I'm just a realist. They've given you everything you have asked for, but because it has 'DRM' you're not happy for no real reason that I can see.

        • @SirFlibbled:
Play on any device and DRM conflict.

        • @fruit: Which device don't you think will play on it? I own almost every device and can play it on every single one of them (except my Nintendo Wii admittedly). If it will play on any device you own and you can either download it or stream it, why does it matter if it has DRM or not?

  • Will wait for 3D
