I knew there had to be a catch. Having to buy two tickets to get a third free is not exactly "free". Especially not how much tickets cost to begin with. I have seen international airfares for less than a boat trip to Rottnest.

Watch out on Rottnest there is asbestos in poor condition all over the main settlement area.
Flaky dangerous asbestos. Saw it myself last year and it has been in the Perth papers etc.

Negging due to risk of DEATH.

    • In parliament on Thursday, Liberal MP Alyssa Hayden confirmed there was high-risk asbestos on the island that had been identified as easily disturbed.
She said the sites would be remediated by Friday.

12 month old article and it says it's been sorted…

      • Backspace, it's a major tourist destination so naturally they rushed out a surface clean up crew and announced it was all fine but it's not fine. You can see it all over the place, crumbling away They used tonnes of out on that island and large amounts of it are still there. The article was the first one I saw in Google to illustratr the point. I was there last year and it is beautiful but that asbestos is everywhere.

Best gift for your dad if:
the other 2 passengers are your dad's girlfriends.

  • How much is a ferry trip from Adelaide to Rottnest Island? While this is obviously a bargain, I feel like the cost of the two original tickets may prove prohibitively expensive.

    Holy crap!

    Adult: $85.50
    Concession: $75.50
    Child (4-12yrs): $48.75
    Child (2-3yrs): $25.00
    Infant (U2): $5.00
    Family Pass: $222.00

I could 'nearly' fly return to Bali with an AirAsia special for an adult return to Rottnest.

Well for anyone with 2 kids it's an $85.50 saving.

I have a wife and 4 kids (1 infant) so would be $236.75 to go there. And is there REALLY anything you can do there that you can't do elsewhere on the mainland, that is worth the $97.50 min (2 kids) on tickets to go?
