Saw this in the Woolworths NSW catalogue, hopefully it's also on sale in other states.

Free-range chicken is often on sale for $5.99/kg but it's good to see that both Coles and Woolworths are starting to offer it at $4.99/kg.

Personally I like flat-roasting chicken - it cooks so much quicker in oven and tastes as good as chicken roasted whole.

Here's a tip… Order it as a 'click and collect' and only pay the minimum weight specified, in this case it is 1.1kg and $5.49. Or course if you aren't paying for delivery you can do that too.

You will receive bonus free chicken. Ususally you will get 1.5kg or more and only pay for 1.1kg.

Also, combine with 5% off giftcards for WW with cashrewards.com.au.

  $4.99 is the cheapest I've seen for free range. If it was indeed free range, that's a great price!
