Wisc, there's nothing dodgy about it. It's rather normal when you book packages that come with accommodation. Note that you could e.g. also book solo or triple share, for a different price of course.
I find it more interesting that the "3 day trip" is actually only approximately 36 hours :) (ok, it goes over 3 different days, fair enough. All together a nice deal to sample cruising.)
We have booked they seem to honor the discount coupon, don't know what the cabins will be like. Bit hard pressed to find full board, 3 meals a day entertainment for 2 nights for any cheaper anywhere. Looks like a great weekend get away, and if you are in Melbourne its a long weekend Mel-Syd, so a few days in Sydney sounds Ok to me as well.
Given you've gotten the bargain, I'm surprised you didn't give it a positive then!
