  • Had a quick look at the cheapie 2 door that comes up as well. Check out the photo , I have no confidence in a manufacturer that thinks glass bottled drinks are stored in a freezer.

    • I noticed that too and wondered whether there was no freezer, just a 2 compartment fridge

Marketing and manufacturing are different departments.

        • Yes, a manufacturer would consist of both.

    • 2 star, something to consider

      • How much extra energy does that use?

e.g. if its $50/year for 200 kWhr, it might be worth spending a few hundred more up front.

Samsung should give up on this industry

    • … and start making lingerie
      BAM! Take my money!

  • $76 delivery is expensive

    • Only $40 for me - and the postal option wasn't available. I guess the P.O. doesn't want to have to hunt for the stamps.

  • Similar fridge is over $1000 on appliances online

    • that's a stainless fridge

      • +1

as per jb hifi website… even the one that's posted is stainless.
        https://www.jbhifi.com.au/whitegoods-appliances/fridges-free…

        • dunno. all the stainless ones end with 'LS' (layered steel). the product finish is 'platinum inox', whatever that might be.

in any case, the product code for the fridge you compared to is different SR413MLS vs SR413MSP

read up on others customer service experiences with Samsung before committing to buy this.
Just because they make decent phones, doesn't mean their whitegoods are any good

    • I've heard that their after sales service is terrible and it's extremely hard to get spare parts once the warranty expires.

      • +1

Yes their after sales customer service is horrible. I know this from buying a Samsung fridge 4 years ago and it was missing a part. They refused it was missing and I ended up shouting at them to get them to send the missing part.

        • sounds similar to my mate's story. Both bottom door shelves were broken when he first started to use it, they made him pay for new ones. I'll never buy Samsung whitegoods after hearing these stories.

Before you buy a Samsung fridge, speak to someone who repairs them. They are cheap and nasty. The compressor will fail and you'll be up for more money to repair them. Better stick to brands which are known for making good fridges.

    • This has got a 10 Year warranty on Digital ccompressor

      • My mum's one died after warranty period. I will never buy a Samsung again for any white goods. They make good mobile phones and apart from that not much else.

Great fridge, great price, but I experienced a dismal delivery service from Masters Rouse Hill store. $75 is a premium amount for delivery, but this was the worst delivery I have ever experienced.

    • why ? what happened ?

  • +1

Thanks for the post spk. I had actually paid about $25 above the $75 for a "premium service" which should have included setting up the new fridge and removing the old fridge. The delivery company men (third party, not Masters) refused to do either of these things, even when shown the receipt, and did not even deliver the fridge to the kitchen. There seemed to be two problems, poor paperwork at Masters (they had taken the premium delivery payment, but not apparently passed this delivery instruction on to the carriers) and poor customer service skills on the part of the carriers. Masters were good enough to refund the delivery charge (when I turned up in store to recount my experience).

  • Was there actually a fridge that people recommend? Samsung appear to be a hit and miss with reviews.
