sneekers must be a Vico thing ;) (put them in your port)

    • +2

port is a Qld thing.(first I ever heard of a port for a bag was when we moved to Qld from Vic)
Sneakers is everywhere, very USA as well.

      • +2

OMG… you just reminded me… "port"
I've not used that term for so long
        I'm reverse…. ex-Qlder moved to VIC

      • Sneakers is USA, although aussies know what it means. Runners is the aussie term.

        • yep, I say runners, sometimes sneakers as to me it's the same thing. My son insists that they are two different styles of shoes.

      • Spelling of sneekers

I think I saw you taking a photo of the MAP coffee machine

    • +64

Why didn't you get an autograph?

You saw a legend infront of you.

      • +18

I would've liked to see the faces of nearby shoppers when one was to call out "omg! are you the legendary tightarse?!!" to a stranger lol

    • +6

What did he look like? The legend.

    • +6

Next time take a photo of him and post here pls :)

      • +8

        I always travel incognito lol.

This should be TWO separate posts…

    Different stores, different products…

      VJ VJ

      What about location in title?

    • +4

Plus some of these don't meet minimum stock levels to be allowed to post (e.g. Netcomm modem).

While I appreciate TA's enthusiasm, it's ok to not post every day.

      • +1

I guess when you get a monetary reward each month for posting the most deals, you do go out of your way to find stuff, however mundane, to post.

        • +1

I don't know what the monetary reward is, but the time spent on collating bargains can't be worth it. I doubt it would serve as an income stream.

    • price in title please !!!!

  • -1

Most of the pics at OW are either 1 item or only a few remaining in stock… Not really a bargain…

    • ITunes cards are definitely more than 10.

    • But in combination…

  • If anyone sees the Shine leather band in Sydney, please let me know!

    • How will they let you know?

      • +19

Sky writing, newspaper display advert (smh or tele), broadcast tv across 4 stations, cinema advertising on a Tuesday, shopadocket, or, you know post a reply here or private msg?

        • Awesome. Thought there was a hotline.

  • +6

The 300 piece tackle box for $15 is a normal price. Where's the bargain?

  • +1 for the netcomm at officeworks. Those sell for that on ebay

    • Any drop out issues?

      • +2

Netcomm are really crappy. I had two of them and a cheap $50 tp-link performed way better.

        • I've found them superb. Lasted years and no issues.

        • +1

@cornbeef: having said that there is no harm spending $27 for a spare.

        • @trumpedup: yep a bargain. I paid $90 for this one.

        • +1

Have a couple NetComm devices and they have been the best of any. Had a wireless router that lasted so long I only chucked it out because it was made pre-Wireless N and didn't have that feature! Got a few Netcomm EOP sets too that work great.

        • @PCAviator:

Adam Internet sell Netcomms with their plans. I had crappy connection for a year until I bought another Netcomm just to make sure the first one wasn't faulty. That second modem worked well at the beginning but only lasted a few months before it over heated and failed.

My connection has been way better with my new modem! I wouldn't recommend Netcomms but maybe it was just my bad luck!

  • NetComm ADSL2+ Modem/Router $26.64

Any good? Think it's same price in Sydney?

Tight buddy would you mind shipping it over to me in Sydney if it's not too much of a ask? Will of course cover shipping.

    • All good never mind, it seems the routers are pretty bad.

  • Thanks op bought six routers…..

    • +8

      6x speed…

      • You mean 6x profit?

  • What is that $4 price tag on the $15 fishing box?

  • +1

+1 for the Soda Stream play at $49

  • legemd. Have had the net community for 4 years. Been pumping plex to others remotely, torrenting and playing Netflix to multiple devices without a problem. Sweet price. Thanks for being a legend TA.

  • +1

TA….what did you end up bringing home today?

    • +2

Being a TA, I don't think he bought anything.

    • +3

what did you end up bringing home today?

      Bought 1 of these :)

      • +3

        NOOOOOoooo. Don't anybody tell Francesca.
        :P

        • +6

Don't worry, I already made sure she couldn't beat the price before purchasing :)

        • +5

          @tightarse:

You guys have an interesting relationship.

        • @Zylam Marex:

+1 for braving the Kmart and Officeworks Campbellfield VIC car park TA! Any bargains found in that shopping centre quickly evaporate when they check their car door for trolley dints. Sometimes you're just happy your car is still there! This is your average nighttime visual if you ever visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0n65z5LTrQ

    • +1

Totally agree rawm. My wife had her car backed into a few years ago while she was shopping at Coles there, and of course the 'security' cameras were apparently not working at that stage, so it was a very expensive shopping trip. One of the worst car parks in Victoria.

      • +1

Hope you got out of there today unscathed! I'm sure with your expertise on OzB, you'd have armed her car with two dashcams from then on!

        • Haha! Ye, all good today. No dashcams yet, but maybe soon. We normally do our shopping at Coles & Woolies in Coburg and to be honest, those car parks are not much better.

        • +1

          @tightarse:
haha agreed! Nowhere to hide in that maze of car parks in Coburg either! Best place (if you can get a park) is on Victoria St. near the Uniting Church #protip

        • @tightarse: ah Coburg, my choice of shopping when staying at the big4 for the yearly footy trip. I like how you can choose from two Coles (like my local in SA!) but which Coles is better?

        • @Food: It depends what you're looking for. If you're after a wider selection of groceries which are relatively fresh, go to the Coles next to Sydney Road. If you're after a shopping experience where you can't get everything on your list, the vegies are limp, and there's almost no decent meat, but you're the sole person shopping in a supermarket, try the one closer to the railway station.

  • Not knocking the deal - but when did Sodastream start offering "starter" fizz bottles with just enough gas for 15L …. what a con, who do they think they are?? HP!!!

    • Maybe as a result of them doing making the right decision and doing this in Oct 2014, therefore needing to cut costs! http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/oct/29/sodastream-m…

    • +1

I bought a Sodastream Dynamo today for $59 from Kmart. Was feeling like I might have to hand in my Ozbarginer card until your comment. At least the Dynamo model comes with a 40L tank.

  • +1

Lol I spent 2 hours this afternoon in Camperwell Kmart as well ;)

  • Anyony here own that MAP Coffee Machine? Is it any good? And can you use any other Capsules in it aside from the MAP ones? Don't see MAP capsules in Coles/Woolies etc so resupply could be an issue if you can only get them at Officeworks :P

    • only map pods. had one and got rid of it due to inability to easily source more pods

      • Thanks for your comment… Yes this was what I was afraid of. Might just use the old teaspoon and jar method of making coffee. I don't really need one but if the machine was highly recommended and you got the machine and 60 pods for $69, then hard to pass up :P

  • There was also a range of bathroom products on sale - toilet rolls holders, shelves, etc - for about $5, I think it was at Kmart Toombul QLD.
