  • Very good deal, but are you sure that it is unlocked at Optus shop?

    • I'm pretty sure it is, usually when you buy it outright its unlocked and if i can recall the Optus sales person said it is. I'll reconfirmed this :p

  • 2600 mAh battery doesn't sound much and 720 x 1280 resolution only offers 267ppi - which is actually less than galaxy s3.

    • so you will compromise 39 pixel difference that your eye won't even notice for a technology that is 3-4 years behind with most specs lower then the HTC 820 plus the Samsung has 2100 mAh battery life.

Not to consider price is probably not to far from the HTC Desire 820!

      • 3-4 year old phone had better screen than this. That's my point. S3 had a removable battery, does this have one? Also don't forget that S3 has plenty of custom ROMs available, how about the HTC?

Nearly $400 - I expect better screen and better battery.

hence why the price of this phone is below $500 budget phone with pretty good processor, specs etc.

Maybe you're a Samsung fan and i'm more a Sony mobile user but with this spec and price it's definitely a budget mobile with awesome capabilities

Post any Phones under $500 that can compete with it's specs. and 2600mAh is pretty high comparing to most phones these days.

        • @theone4u:
I am a fan of removable batteries and custom ROMs. I don't like S6 for the reason I mentioned.

@ms: upvoting MS not because i necessarily agree with him, but to offset the neg votes i don't his comments deserved.

        • Screen resolution isn't the only factor to consider when comparing if a screen is better than another.

As for phones under $500 with comparable specs. Here's one for $297

        • @Ronnnie: i had one of them, rubbish and a waste of money. Issue after Issue without any customer service support this brand is simply to be avoided.

        • +1

@Ronnnie: Thats a 5" screen. Hence cheaper price. Also, is ZTE comparable to HTC? From past experience they are worse than Huawei in terms of failure rate.

        • @Tiggrrrrr:

The ZTE has capacitive buttons vs On screen button with the HTC, so you aren't going to be gaining much interms of screen real estate with the HTC. The poster asked to find a similar spec phone for under $500, which the ZTE is very similar spec wise. I'm sure you'll see plenty of these mid tier devices at similar prices in the coming months. Yes ZTE seems to be focused more on the lower end than making premium flagships like HTC, but HTC has shown with the nexus 9 and the recent One M9 just because they have devices at a higher price point that doesn't always translate to quality devices. I loved my M8 and M7 though, however the M7 was far from perfect too.

I personally think at this price point you are probably better looking at last gen flagships or something like the zenfone 2 that can give current gen flagships a run for it money.

        • @theone4u:

I am waiting for one of these to replace my Nexus5:

        • @teaBagger: i was too but it's hard to get officially in Australia.

        • The S810 also is known to have overheating issues. Supposedly it's been fixed on the oneplus two, however the Z3+ and Z4 still have overheating issues with the same S810 revision. It'll undoubtedly take a few months before you'll be able to obtain a Oneplus two. I'll just wait and see what the nexus 5 2015 brings to the table, it might use a better SoC than the Oneplus two.

  • The Dual Sim version of this phone was part of the 20% off eBay/Kogan sale (I assume grey import).

    $409.63 AUD -> $327.70 delivered

    Currently $389.63

    • the link says it has been removed, but you are correct about the dual sim versions, there are heaps on Ebay for around the same price but the question is will the warranty cover Aussie/local?

  • +4

For those bashing galaxy s3, LG g3 can be had ~400
    No deal for me

    • where? or grey import only?
