This has been around for years?

    • +2

But has it been posted in the last six months?

      • -1

Who cares, it not a freebie, it's always available…

        • It's free, therefore it's a freebie.

        • +1

          @gilbarc:

Nope, it's a freebie if you normally have to pay for it…

If it's always free, it's not a deal, bargain or freebie, it's just an announcement…

Otherwise, might as well post 'free water' posts as Freebies at the water fountain of you local park…

        • @jv: Gotta agree with jv this time.

        • +1

@jv: Nothing in the FAQ about deals being not deals. Where is the rule that an announcement of a deal is not a deal?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…
          * A deal must be cheaper than other places.
          * A deal must not be a duplicate.
          * Must be available to Australia.

If OzB doesn't like the deal, it won't get upvotes and it will fall to the bottom.

        • @jv: you do normally have to pay for it, you have to become a member for it to be free.

        • -1

          @gilbarc:

you do normally have to pay for it

Not for members, read the title…

        • @jv: please read to the end of the sentence…

    • Next up, free Wifi and ketchup at McDonald's.

  • 50cent is well informed

  • I thought its always free?

    • It is…

  • +1

    It is always free.

    • It's not always free. At least at Logan.

It used to be free always, then they stopped the policy so it's now only free on weekdays, not weekends.

      • Although this deal has been around for a while, its not just coffee. Free hot drinks in VIC, so u get a free mug to fill in anything really, including nestle hot choco…mmmm

        • -1

I don't see why I can't I fill the mug with soft drink.

        • @ca6leguy:

          no one said you can't

        • @seigweilo:
That's not true, the staff threaten, tell you off and give you death stares if you do… Well at least at the Richmond store

        • @bowtiehoon:

          Then go to Springvale Store.

They're too busy to care… lol

        • @bowtiehoon: They really should not do this. Not nice. They should just call the police for stealing. Sorry … when you want a soft drink pay for it!

        • @mini_wombat:

A hot drink is more expensive than cold drink

        • @ca6leguy: … still doesn't mean you can steal the cheaper item. (by the way: you can get the coffee for free … so I doubt that a cold drink is cheaper).

Ikea provides the free refills (soft drink and coffee) and free coffee for Ikea Family card members on weekdays. Isn't that great … so we should respect the rules.

      • No. What I mean is it has always been free for Mon-Fri since last year.

Last year, they allowed free hot drinks Weekdays and Weekends but you're right, they then changed the policy.

You know what has also changed? Their food price too… :-) except for Hot Dogs and Soft Serve.

yeah its been around for a while but still a fair few people who dont know about.

    • True that! Thanks for posting this 50cent! :)

      • no problem Abigail :)

  • The link goes to the UK site?

It may work in other parts of Australia, but for those of us in Adelaide and Perth:
Q: Do I get free coffee?
A: No, the IKEA FAMILY program in Adelaide and Perth does not offer free coffee to members because we believe in offering special prices on the home furnishing and accessory products that our customers enjoy the most.

    • sorry updated link, shame its not valid in SA or WA, you guys are missing out.

      • But we do get $1 kids meal (5 meatballs and chips or mash) after 3pm. So for $3 you get 15 meatballs and a plate of chips.

        • do they serve to adults too or only kids?

        • @50cent: They give me a funny look at the counter, but I just tell my imaginary children to stop playing with the salad bar and get back in line or I will eat all of the meatballs. Kids never listen.

  • Welcome to IKEA United Kingdom.

  • 50cent, you haven't visited IKEA for a long time have you?

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31112 been around at least 4.5 years, although that deal is marked as expired.

    • I think the website automatically updates deals as expired after a certain time.

  • No more free coffee as of September 1. Drink up!

    • geez thats too bad !!
