  • Nothing here

  • These haven't arrived in Perth yet, or not what I've seen. WA bottles seem to be made of a different plastic to the varieties I've tried on the east coast.

I always avoid drinks with added sugars which really limits the pre-packaged iced coffee options so I was pretty psyched when I first saw these “no added sugar” products. However, “no sugar” versions invariably have some kind of artificial or refined sweetener. Unfortunately many of these sweeteners have an even worse effect on your blood chemistry so for the layman like myself it seems prudent to avoid the entire class.

      cool, don’t drink it

      • I’m not going to.

        • Do you consume the plant based Stevia?

          • @J B S: I’ve had it but I don’t regularly eat it. My wife was using it in the cooking for a while but now we just use regular sugar.

I’m not aware of any evidence that stevia specifically has any negative effects.
In general, to make life simpler I try to avoid all sweeteners and just consume added sugar in moderation. Besides stevia there’s a bunch and I forget the names so follow the easy ruleset of avoiding them all.

Like if I was at woolies I’d only grab the hunt and brew iced coffee (if on sale and fanging an iced coffee) because it has neither added sugar nor added sweetener.

some people should avoid it, including:

      • People taking medications for schizophrenia
      • People with advanced liver disease
      • Pregnant people with hyperphenylalanine
    • I'm with this guy. There needs to be greater education and labelling on what people are consuming.

        Read my comment below

    • This kind of drinks are good enough for me as I prefer sweet. I rarely drink this kind of beverages, even energy drinks. So, no problem for me. I don't have any health problems and still in good shape. I can eat and drink whatever I want and how much, no problem. The key is daily physical activities.

Change any sugary drinks into energy for physical activities …

      • If you drink in moderation then you’ve already won

Based on experience with previous Coles' "free" giveaways, they'll have a fridge full of other flavours and package sizes, but not the one that you can (attempt to) get for free.

My last "free item" from FB wasn't even stocked by local stores. I sent FB feedback to keep them honest.

    • I just always assumed it was because everyone else in my area was getting the same deals and grabbing the items before I get to the shop, now I'm wondering if it's intentionally malicious :/

  • Is this from the app or an email?

    • Mine came through on the email which directed me to the app

      • Cheers.

  • i didnt get it fml

Why do I never get any of these?

Only ever nonsense like "spend $300 a week for seven weeks and get 5% off"

    Thank manage to activate one

  • Activated this before I walked into the store, and about 20 minutes later tried it at checkout only for it to not work (yes I went to the payment screen). I'm absolutely sure it was the right item (used to be a checkout worker so I know about the caveats), however couldn't manage to get it working. Weird.
