        Display

        9.7" XGA (1024 x 768) PLS TFT

        • My kids would love it - everything would look like Minecraft!
          And yet, it's running Lollipop…

        • @McFly:

it's all in ur mind mate. U supposed to transform pixelate graphics (minecraft and crappy graphics) into real life like 3D - beyond imagination (New Samsung Motto - likely stolen from somewhere else)

  • Works on ipod touch too

  • Why is the Tab A so expensive? It offers nothing of value…

    • Comes with free ms office download, hence why its now a screen size less than 10.1" (and portrait orientation by default)

      • Tab 4 probably was eligible for MS office, I think it's up to 10.1" (Judging from how my tablet is also eligible for it). The reason that they've changed the ratio around/screen size probably is due to the latest Nexus tablet changing the ratio to 4:3.

      • Free MS Office??? This isn't the droid you're looking for…

    • Because it's new. I seriously cannot think of any other reasons, you are so much better off getting a Tab S or Tab 4 even. Actually, if you can, don't get a budget tablet from Samsung. Samsung offers awful values for budget tablets, better to go with other manufacturers.

      • There's also a S pen version for just a little more $$. No more expensive "note" branded tablets.

Its just "Tab A" and "Tab A with S-pen"

Use pen with the free MS onenote program, and its a great tool which syncs onto your mobile and laptop etc

        • Yeah, but Note 10.1 2014 is far better than Tab A. In terms of resolution, Tab A is worse than even Note 8.0 (which is shocking since Note 8.0 is from 2013). Not to mention, Tab A has worse resolution than Tab 4 even. The only thing it has going for it is the s-pen (for the s-pen variant), though, if you are planning to spend $400 to get an s-pen, get a note 10.1 2014 or wait for Samsung to release a note tablet as a Tab S2 variant.

Don't get me wrong, I like Note tablet line, but Tab A with s-pen is just… awfully specced at that price. It's comparable to Note 8.0, some area worse than Note 8.0, enough said.
