I used this for 3hrs and still not dry at extreme settings… =/

    • i got the other sterling dryer 10 months ago and its great. was wondering if this was any good since its only 20kg i would prefer it. did you reset the thermostat on your dryer and its still not drying?

  • Meh. This is the same unit as the 4kg Mistral which is regularly on sale for $179-$199 delivered - about every second month.

Don't know how they squeeze the extra 0.5kg when it's exactly the same unit as sold under many different brand names and all others are 4.0kg. Even Aldi sold this unit previously and rated it as 4.0kg.

This is not a deal, it is normal price.

  • This is the best Dryer I have ever owned.

This beats the pants of most of the branded models.

    This is hot stuff.

Would defiantly recommend for this price.

    • Your avatar reminds me of jv for some reason…

On a serious note, I have the Stirling 6KG drier from Aldi (maybe 2-3 yrs ago) and it's been brilliant. Really surprised as I was expecting to have to run it for hours and a high power bill but it's actually pretty damn good.

Dunno if I'd bother with a 4.5KG drier though, seems a bit small? Maybe for singles only.

  • I am looking at getting the sterling washing machine as my machine is playing up. Does anyone have any experience with these machines or can recommend an alternative?

We bought our Stirling from ALDI 2 years ago (I'm not sure if its the same model as current stock) and has been nothing but trouble. It's already been replaced once before and it will be going back very soon.
It's rated 7kg. It jumps, rattles and shakes with any load, any setting, light or heavy, big or small. I don't mean your regular jumps.. I mean to the point where you are even afraid to approach the machine to turn off (if it already hasn't pulled the plug itself).. where you'd think I'm mixing concrete not clothes.
The replacement machine even done the same thing from the first wash, but we've just put up with it as we don't wash regularly and still within the 3 year warranty period. I'm hoping to replace it again soon but my advice would be to buy a reputable brand.

Just realized that I have a 6kg dryer from aldi which I bought a couple of years ago but hardly use because it never seemed to dry the clothes properly.

    • Interesting, I have the same drier (probably bought the same time you did) but my experiences have been polar opposite to yours.

      • Maybe I'm doing something wrong not much of a housewife:)

        • Hah, who knows :)

Don't know the quality of this

Do you know what it normally sells for?

    • For the consumers I think

      • That's "who" not "what"…

        • +1

I don't know, I've seen some consumers who look like a "what"

        • I find you two's replies more amusing than the deal itself… :o

  • How come the reviews are from it's "the worst" to "the best" dryer?
