  • Also check your local Big W. Seen these on clearance at a few stores for $50 http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/39370/30146/image.jpg

    • When did you see it? Today? Any expiration date?

      • Just a couple of days ago. Being a clearance item they will be available until sold out, but limited stock.

  • I recently bought these speakers from TGG for about $75, don't they offer some sort of 30 day price guarantee?.

    • Z506? How good are they?

      • 623's are worth the extra price difference. Better sound, more inputs.

      • I use mine as a bedroom TV set (because the sound on the bedroom TV is awful, like most TVs). They're perfectly fine for that, but they're not going to offer amazing sound in a larger room.

  • +1

There pretty good!, I bought a set for a DSE TV instead of a sound bar. The rear speakers were originally super quiet and I wasn't able to tweak the volume like I would on a PC but once I bought some audio splitters and plugged them all into the front jacks I found the sound was quite adequate.

    • Hmm, good to hear that its good, will buy definitely.

I'll probably change house in coming months so will give it a pass this time. And the price is bit high too, recent trend is ~55$.

      • Do you know of anywhere selling them around that price atm?.

        • +1

No, it was last DSE price. I've setup a alert in OZB for next time.

    • Can you elaborate a little bit more on your set up? I also have a DSE TV that has pretty bad sound and was thinking about these speakers.

      • Yeah the sound is pretty horrible, it literally made my teeth ache:). I've basically just plugged the audio cable into the headphone plug on the TV which automatically activates the speakers. The default sound settings on the TV mean that the centre, front speakers and sub are fine but the rear one's are all but silent:/, there's an option to activate surround sound in the TV's menu that increases the rear speaker volume but this creates an echo that can't be adjusted. What I did is simply buy some cheap audio splitters off eBay which basically act as a double adapter so that I can run the rear speaker through the front speaker plug as well!. This kind of decreases the surround sound effect that you would get through a PC but it still results in a pretty loud setup with plenty of bass.

  • I've had these for a few years now and just the other day the fuse inside the sub blew when I turned off the power on the power board. First time in my life that a piece of electronics has failed on me. Seems quite common if you do a search.

  • Damn I wanted that card reader, missed it.
