Well the answer to that one is that hacking as a term has been abused by the media a fair bit, hacking is simply making use of a system in a way that it wasn’t intended. So hacking isn’t implicitly a bad thing, it can lead modifying devices to perform beyond what was intended, gaining further access to a device you own (in the case of jail breaks & rooting), finding flaws in your own security so they can be fixed or yes, in some cases hacking can be used for illegal purposes. Rest assured WAHCKon focuses on the positive side of hacking and does not tolerate or condone any illicit activity.

Concession tickets are available for $30 with the $5 discount still being available, you will need to show valid, current student/health care card/pension card/something convincing when arriving at the venue.
The event runs on the 2nd and 3rd of May at the Empyrean function centre in Northbridge.
