Top up your Adult Opal card with a $60 recharge and pay only $48 at Woolworths Chatswood NSW

It isn't heavily advertised in the store or online, with the price label in the photo the only evidence of the deal I saw. Therefore I have no idea about:

  • whether other Woolworths stores are having this deal;
  • when this offers ends;
  • whether Child/Concession/Seniors cards are eligible; or
  • what discount you get (if any) if you recharge by an amount greater than $60.

Also keep in mind that an Opal card can hold a maximum balance of $250, so if your current balance is $190 or greater, you won't be able to take up this offer. But you can always obtain a new Opal card and top up $60 on that card.

      Why would you not be able to take up this offer?

      The answer is to buy multiple $60 opal (new) cards. Link them to your existing opal account then report as lost/stolen to balance transfer the $60 to your main card.

      I have earlier called Burwood (NSW), they don't have this offer. This sounds like another store specific offer.

    I don't understand why other stores can't match this as it's the same product and advertised for woolies, maybe show then the docket? I beleive they just don't believe you with insuffient evidence. Can op upload the docket as well?

    I do remember that woollies have the option on POS to mark it down, they just cant be bothered.

    They say the deal is still ongoing but their machine is broken. They don't know when it ends either. The price tag is gone.

    Confirmed with epay (who supports the recharge machine) that particular terminal has exceeded the limit.

    The epay support also confirmed the store has already requested for a limit increase but the new limit won't be approved until Monday (so their Finance department will be back in office).

    PS. The limit was set to protect epay because they are not paid by merchants at the time of topup.
