20% off at Supercheap Auto for Ezyway and Rewards customers on Saturday 21st February one day only
Rewards cards are free to pick up at Lowes menswear stores. So don't need auto club membership.

Didn't bother posting as a deal - Repco have 30% off for auto club members this weekend.

Better value to sign up to supercheap for $5 and get the $10 free credit, if you can sign up on the spot and use the credit

      • True :-) and bonus credit at other times.

If you sign up for SuperCheap card now, you'll get $10 credit to use with 20% off tomorrow ;-) (needs time to activate credit)

Better value was the Lowes free SuperCheap membership with $10 credit ;-)

      • +3

If you sign up on the spot you won't get the credit on the spot, takes about 3 hours for the email to come through to enable the account.

        • +1

Funny, I got it in 10 mins.

      • Signed up yesterday for 20% off and 10$ credit. Today it is 20% off for everyone and forgot to spend 10$, silly me :))

    • Supercheap or Repco, which will have generally cheaper prices with the discounts?

    • +1

Supercheap Auto usually give discounts on everything INCLUDING BATTERIES for these Club Member sales, but the generic sales specifically exclude batteries and some other items. I remember one weekend they had 20% off everything and they were going to to charge my Dad full price for a battery but discount his other goods 20%, but I scanned my member card and it reduced the battery price also.

This came at a good time, as my car battery died last weekend.

      • Which battery did you end up buying from supercheap? Mine died last weekend too

        • Sorry for late reply - I didn't need a new battery, turns out a diode had burnt out in my alternator. After swapping it the old battery worked fine!

      • Repco excludes batteries this sale :-(

Bought battery last Repco 30%off sale for $51 cheaper than SuperCheap usual price (after trade in) of $145.

        • Trade-in? I haven't heard of SuperCheap Auto or Repco doing trade-ins for old batteries, but I'm aware some places overseas do it. Please do tell!

        • +1

          @greenie4242:
Repco had $15 trade in for that catalog. SuperCheap had sign in battery section of $10 trade in. May not be currently available. Ask the stores.

        • @brucefromaustralia: Thanks, I'll check next time. I haven't seen any signs before, so maybe it's only certain stores. Maybe some stores have specific agreements with nearby recycling centres.

What's everyone planning to buy besides 5lt Castrol 5w30??

    • Meguairs stuff is generally all I'll buy if I'm running low and it's on sale…

    • +1

      Car related goods.

      • +6

        Not me… I'm buying a pony.

        • +1

you can't buy happiness but you can buy horsepower, and that's kind of the same thing

Is edge even that good, still cost over $50 for just engine oil, I prefer $20 10w-40 penrite specials. 10w-40 is better for the summer as well.

      • +1

Edge was $27.49, couldn't buy it at over double the price ($55 after 20% discount) without feeling like a bad bargain: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/163258.

      • It is if you want to keep your warranty. I use it for my GTI so I need 504 blah blah. Otherwise I'd buy your $20 penrite special.

      • good point about using the correct viscosity for the temperature. since i change my oil twice a year just before it starts getting colder/hotter, i pick a thinner oil for winter and slightly thicker oil for summer.

i used to run mobil 1 0w40 in winter as per manufacturer/dealer, and tried liqui moly 5w30, castrol edge 5w30 for the hotter months.

but when amazon ran the free shipping in december last year, i decided to get a hold of some royal purple. you've probably seen this Street Commmodores semi/fully synthetic oils test? http://www.animegame.com/cars/Oil%20Tests.pdf so i can't wait until end of april to test out RP's 0w40. i'm likely the only person on earth who gets excited about an oil change :p

      • generally penrite is a far superior oil to what castrol offers.

The cheap edge oils are not actually synthetic. They're mineral based with a truck load of additives.

    • i bought the tools i needed with the 25% off they had last weekend so maybe some armorall or duplicolor plasti-dip equivalents

    • Car seat covers and accessories for my first ever new car in 30 years!!
      :-)
Otherwise my family aren't getting it it lol

  • Is this deal in-store only or applies to online purchases too?

    • in-store only. so no click and collect for me :(

      • +1

You could phone them up today and get them to reserve some stock for you that you pick up from the counter tomorrow and get the 20% off too :-)

        • i don't usually make it into SCA on saturdays anymore. and with c&c i can take my own sweet time picking up my order :p

  • +1

I bought something there this week. I paid full price. I'm a SCA member. Will I get 20% in store credit?

    • +1

you should since it's within 2 weeks. give them a call if you don't see your credit on the day

      • I was going to ask the same thing.

      • Cool. I just wasn't sure if it happened for store wide sales or only when precisely the item I purchased goes on sale. I s'pose if the item price drops on their system it should be registered.

        • +1

if the item price drops on their system it should be registered.

          Yup. Pretty much

        • @bargin193232222:

          I don't know. I haven't yet.

        • @sween64:

Bought a new car batt 2 days ago. Haven't gotten credit yet! :/

        • @zeomega:

          hmm
i still haven't got my credit!

        • @Arghs:

          Me neither.

        • @sween64:

just checked again - still no credit.
so i just rang them and had them credit my acct manually. all good.
if u guys haven't got it yet, suggest u do the same.

        • @Arghs: thanks I called them after hours last night and am waiting for a call back.

        • @Arghs:

I received my $1.40 credit and an additional $5 for the inconvenience of having to call. Thanks Dionne!
