Is that tightbottom starting to loosen??

      • +12

No. That sounds more like pwtpwtpwtpwtpwt.

      • +4

I saw this deal while on the pot at work. It all aligned so well you just made me laugh really loud and freak out the guy in the stall next to me.

        So thanks

        • +1

          TMI

  • +1

What does this do besides gaming"?

    • +28

Its got a built in fleshlight in the back…

      • +4

Now that! I would buy, though a Fleshlight attachment for the controller would be better than on the console.

        • +2

i dont think they made the controllers vibrate for that reason… but who knows, you might be on a winner.

    • +1

What does it do, if you include gaming? Um… You can play uh… Um… It has…. H-Halo? But I already have that on 360!

(All aboard the train to neg town! Choo choo!)

      • -1

Unless I'm missing your online sarcasm, this is as ignorant as it gets.

You can game, watch movies, stream, browse the Web, Skype and a whole bunch of other things.

Check out the xbox website for a full list of stuff.

Not to mention microsoft is releasing a bunch of apps in the coming weeks.

        • -3

My computer can do all that and more, and it has 30 years of exclusive games. The only thing I can't play on my 360 or my PC that the Xbone can at the moment is Sunset Overdrive. And it's not exactly a heavy-hitting title, because they were too safe and afraid to take a chance.

And Forza. But really, there's 4 Forza's on 360 that match the quality of the 3 they've already pumped out for next gen. Oversaturation of a product is as valid in the videogame market as any other industry.

        • +4

Am I the only one who doesn't know what the hell you guys are arguing about, or if you're even arguing?

        • +2

          @FrankMcFuzz:

Let's all sing 'Hail The PC Master Race"!

      • +1

Um… Xbox One plays blu-ray movies. Your Xbox 360 can't do that.

        • +1

To be fair a decent Bluray player can be purchased for around $60-100 (depending on the features you want).

        • -1

No, but that's what my PS3 is for. As well as playing a decade worth of amazing exclusive games.

        • @codhopper:

Not a really decent 3D blu-ray player at that price. Decent for a 3D blu-ray player is around $165-200. The Xbox One however has 3D blu-ray playback built in. With the Xbox One you're getting a 3D capable enterainment device.

The Xbox 360 however has no blu-ray capabilities whatsoever be it 2D or 3D.

      • Same here. My Xbox 360 is working well.

    • Media playback and theres a few streaming apps such as Netflix. It's the primary way we access Netflix in our household, but to be honest if you don't want to actually play games there's much cheaper options out there.

  • it is good deal or not ?

  • +2

Surely this must be the cheapest that it's ever been at.

    • I think it was cheaper around Christmas with the 7 games pack, however that relied on selling the 7 games… (Someone quoted that it only cost them $150 at the end of it).
This to my knowledge is the cheapest its ever been as a retail purchase.

      • +1

I ended up $170 out of pocket with just the console and controller after flipping the games and xbox live with the MS november deal. Its running again for anyone interested 5 games, but no Xbox live and the games are not new anymore so you wont get anywhere near the cost me and other crafty people did!

        http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/cat/Xbox-One…

        • +1

EDIT - Looks like i made a mistake, they are only offering 3 games, not 5 - NO DEAL

  • Damn this is so tempting ! ARghHghg

  • Can you use xbox360 controllers with xboxOne?

    • +1

Two different things each to their own. But not all games are across the board. Some are exclusively for Xbox.

I'd love to play Killer Instinct again but its not on the PS4 or the PC what choice would I have if I really wanted to play that game ?

      • +1

I just want to play the Halo series…
        :(

        • +1

halo couch co op is pretty much what I bought it for haha

        • Better off buying a cheap 360 and picking up the halo games on eBay. I'm sure you can get em dirt cheap. The master chief collection has a lot of bugs and even after many patches they haven't got it right. The day one patch is huge too :(

      • +1

emulation.. Killer Instinct 1 and 2 have been running under MAME for years - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDD30TG1JNU

        • The game has been remade for the Xbox One new characters etc.

I do have the MAME one but I sold off my X-arcade joystick, haven't loaded it up since.
Was using that game as an example could be anything Halo / Forza / etc.

        • +1

          @Kaboda:

understood. I bought a PS4 for the console exclusives and I own The Last of Us Remastered, Little Big Planet 3, Infamous Second Son and have 9 months worth of PSN+ 'rentals' (free games, until you don't lapse your PSN+ subscription). So far the PS4 has been out of it's box only once. I play MUCH more on the PC and games on the PC are so much cheaper too (just wait a little while after release.. or buy a digital key from overseas - eg: Dying Light cost me $16 USD).

    • Many people prefer console gaming, of course a computer will be better value and more functional.

      • +2

Value is subjective. Some say a console is better value ;)

        • The reality of the console v PC debate, is you don't see console gamers coming into PC threads trying to convert them and mention that it is cheaper on steam PSN/Live…

        • @Tal_Shiar:

That's because they have no argument to make & there's no debate to be had either. PC is so vastly superior in terms of ease, price, value & quality, you could only laugh at someone trying to claim otherwise.

        • +2

          @infinite:

I own both consoles and PC's and I find that claim laughable. To have the same value the PS4 console has or the Xbox ONE I'd be easily forking out $1000 on a PC.

I can't even find a NVIDIA GTX 970 for less than $450 AUD that's more than either console alone.

        • -1

          @Kaboda:

          begins laughing

        • +2

          @infinite:

Yeah at stupid PC vs Console debate that always comes up.

Xbox One for 367.20 is a deal fullstop.

        • @Kaboda: The 970 is easily twice as good as the GPU in the "next-gen" consoles, aim lower. $367.20 for XBOX1 is great even factoring in the cost of XBOX Live.

        • +1

          @infinite:

I noticed you missed "convenience" in your list. The ability to simply sit on the couch and play a game with a friend on the big screen cant be had as easily huddled around the pc.

        • +1

          @UFO:

What kind of fool doesn't have their gaming PC connected to a big screen? You realise PC's have HDMI ports right & that slim line PC cases are smaller than console units?

        • +1

@infinite: agreed! Microsoft wireless joypads (ie: same as xbox 360) are only $36 (or $24 for a wired USB one)? I've got a 10m long HDMI from the PC to the loungeroom surround sound system and wireless controllers - large screen gaming goodness.. also great for multi-player retro fun on the NES/SNES/PSX/PS2/Wii emulators and MAME (4 player Gauntlet still rocks).

        • -1

          @gizmomelb:

I know, so many LOL's @ not even having backwards compatibility on the consoles. What a completely ludicrous failure to leave out that feature. There's no excuse for it at all. Doesn't matter though, even if they did have them, they'd still be inferior to the PC versions and way more costly.

    • +5

I'm not defending consoles, but you're not going to build a similarly powerful PC for "not much more" than $367

      • +3

        This!

There is absolutely no way you could build a PC that's more powerful for less than $367.

        It would be dogshite.

    • Not really an either/or thing. Plus with online gaming, most do not go crossplatform multiplayer.
On top of that they have console exclusive games that you cannot get on PC and vice versa.

    • +1

Yeah, you can totally put together a motherboard/chipset/ram/HDD/video card/case for $367.

      Oh, wait. That's retarded. Nevermind.

    • It wouldn't be way more powerful, but it'd certainly be capable of playing way more games.

      • +1

        Like solitare and minesweeper?

        • +1

          Still better than Ryse

    • +5

You only use it as a paperweight?

You an underutilizing its features! Did you know it can also be used as a dust collector!

    • +1

Sheesh some ppl can't take a joke.

      • +2

        It wasn't very funny though…

      • You might want to look up what "a joke" is… I suggest starting with a mirror.

  • +1

    nope

  • This or PS4. Hmmm..

    • I own both, and personally prefer the Xbox One. You are best off judging by the console exclusives, and giving both of them a try first.

      • +1

See I'm the opposite; I own both and my Xbox One is just collecting dust. I fired it up again yesterday to play Sunset Overdrive but thats the first time in about a month.

      • +9

If you judge the Xbone and PS4 by their exclusives, you'll be fighting a losing battle. It's like judging the best cage fighter between two shriveled, 96 year old men.

If you want to play Infamous get a PS4.

If you want to play Forza, get an Xbone.

If you want to play anything other than those two games, wait 12 months til decent games actually come out.

If you want to play Ryse, Driveclub, or Assassin's Creed Unity, please re-evaluate your life.

        • The Last of Us Remastered is pretty sweet if you were an XBOX360 gamer last gen and missed out on it the first time around. Ryse & Unity are both on PC so doesn't apply to console choice.

        • +1

@Agret: yeah I purchased Ryse on PC for $10 last week, figured even with the bad reviews it was still cheap enough to check out and evaluate for myself.

        • +1

@gizmomelb: And what'd you think? Now, take what you thought, and imagine if you paid $89 for it.

  • +4

Careful if you buy this just for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Got mine mainly for that, and the game's multiplayer is 90% broken in terms of inconsistent matchmaking issues, drop-outs, etc. If you're just interested in the campaign, I suppose that's good, but I wouldn't pay full price for the package which is clearly broken and which MS seems to never advertise anymore to avoid discussing it (Halo 5 is all they care about now).

    • +1

yeah i was interested in this.

I Couldn't find any multilayer games when i tried.. is it dead

    • +1

This a hundred percent. I can't believe they released the POS Halo MCC multiplayer is. I think I've gotten two full online matches in the months since release.

      Well and truly broken matchmaking.

      • +3

The worst part is none of the gaming media or any gaming forum in general bothers to discuss this serious issue.

Multiplayer pretty much does not work for Australian players.

        Yet it's completely overlooked.

  • +2

I grabbed one and an extra controller and Minecraft. That way my son can play Minecraft on my 360 and build ridiculous things and the wife and I can go adventuring together on the new One.

    Yay for all :)

    • +3

I haven't had an opportunity to touch my consoles. They are gathering dust in a corner since my daughter game along two years ago.

      • +2

        game along

        nice

        • +1

It's the game that never ends. Don't start it if you want to finish it.

        • When my son game along, i just put it in front of the tv. Its been many years now…

    • Why not just get Minecraft mobile for all 3 of you to play together?

      • Because we are technologically impaired when it comes to phones. We just use them to make and receive calls.

  • This is just a basic pack only including console and 1 controller. It does not include any games and Kinect sensor.

  • Damn Ozbargain. Impulse bought it.

  • The Assassins Creed bundle with Kinect may be a better deal
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181606…

    $447.20

  • Sold Out…

  • I was with this in the cart proceeding to checkout and they mark it as sold out. Should they honor it if I call them?

    • They won't.

    • I had this happen but with Dick Smith, short answer is, no, they don't honor it.

    • +3

Why would they? You were too slow.

      • -.- I was adding another controller to the cart, lol.

  • If you missed out MS has the $499 AssCreed bundle with 3 games going for $499. Works out about the same value if you sell unwanted games, or even play the, then sell as second hand

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/cat/Xbox-One…

Cashrewards will get another $20 off… But it took 3 months for me and a bit of prodding…

    • +1

That one doesn't have the Kinect included…(sorry comparing to the 3 games one on Target which is currently still available)

    • As I mentioned in the "XBOne + Kinect" Target post:

The 2x Assassins Creed games are included in the games total they advertise on MS Store.
      The "3 free games" = AC:U (d/l code), AC4:BF (d/l code) + choice of only 1 ADDITIONAL game.
So for $130 you get 3x extra games, 2 of which you'd have to sell online as EB won't trade d/l codes. And due to the plethora of people with Unity bundles selling their codes, you'd be hard-pressed to make much on 'em. (Google the price)

Edit: eBay has "Buy It Now" prices for both AC game codes for $25+. That leaves $100 of savings to buy game(s) that you want, not just what MS is offering.

      • +1

EDIT - Looks like i made a mistake, they are only offering 3 games, not 5 - NO DEAL

      • Lol, I listed 3 download codes the other day. Before I figured out the setting to block non-Australian buyers I was getting tons of emails offering $11 for 2 games with messages such as "The ship is by email, yes?"

No one in Australia wants those download codes because the games are ~30GB each.

Anyone who is on the NBN and wants to buy a Forza 5 code, PM me.

        • Noone wants them coz ebay and gumtree are flooded with the codes from people who bought the bundles. I luckily sold the two AC codes for $90 dollars a few days before release of ACunity! Then i bought ACunity disc from DSE ebay for $53, played it, and sold it for $55 on gumtree! effectively, the universe payed me $9 to play the game.

        • 30GB download is fine when the new consoles can download in low power "off" state, just start the download before bed and the next day after work you will have your game ready to play.

  • +1

Built as one of the most innovative gaming consoles to date, the Xbox One offers a fun selection of platform exclusive titles in addition to tons of next generation games

I once got a Surface RT, and on the box it said "Instantly on, and always updated!"

I had to charge it for 20 minutes before it would turn on, even then it takes half a minute to turn on, and there were 5 hours of updates before I could use it for the first time.

I'm glad to see Microsoft are using the same marketing strategy here, of straight up lying about their product.

  • We bought one for work. Can't believe it needed 8gb update just to turn on. Way to blow your download cap.
