Waiting for Ketsui deathtiny
They’re price matching Target. Also available in Mario Kart bundle if interested
https://www.target.com.au/p/nintendo-switch-oled-model-white…Any deals on a VHS player?
Yeah I think Nintendo might still have some stock for $799
Nintendo fans: "Amazing value!"
Watching nintendo haters cry in here…
Priceless! 🤣
Genuinely would buy one if there was
I bought the original switch a year or two back.
Never activated NSO.
Will be buying a Switch 2 when available.
Anyone want to guess if NSO bundled with Switch 1 would be eligible or carry across to Switch 2?
Knowing Nintendo they'll find a way to screw customers over.
Just like how they didn't migratge Virtual Console purchases from the Wii and Wii U over to the Switch and instead expected customers to pay a subscription to keep playing some of the same games.
They make some great games, shame about their business practices.
They have already confirmed NSO carries over
How generous of them to keep collecting montly fees for games they released 30 years ago and consumers have already paid for many times before.
They'll still find a way to screw consumers some more.
@LockedUpLotionClown: Not at all like Xbox. I can put many of my OG Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One discs into my Xbox Series and play them just fine without any subscriptions or paying a cent.
OG Xbox and 360 Xbox games run via emulation, just like Nintendo's NSO.
Same with digital purchases.
There was nothing stop Nintendo from bringing Virtual Console digital purchases forward to the Switch…except greed.
@LockedUpLotionClown: It's actually a very succinct direct comparison. Why are you failing to understand with the analogy?
@LockedUpLotionClown: "childish", "neckbeard", do you have an actual constructive argument at all or just personal attacks?
It’s not,
I'm all ears, educate this "child". I'm waiting…
I notice not much has been said about backwards compatibility with cartridges yet. Assuming they'll work is one thing but this is Nintendo and I'm worried that any enhancements like increased resolution and higher framerate will be another purchase. Like having to pay $10 or whatever to run the PS5 version of a PS4 game.
WiiU games on Switch made sense because nobody bought the WiiU so they made a ton of cash there but if people aren't forced to go out and purchase the same game again they'll be missing out on a ton of money.
Don’t need to guess, it had already been confirmed NSO carries over.
It has been confirmed by Nintendo : "Nintendo Switch Online members can continue using the service on Nintendo Switch 2."
How exactly that looks… who knows, but I wouldn't worry about your subscription
Not sure if Switch 2 will have the same effect given the rise in handheld PC’s that are already more capable. Then again, people like Mario games..
IMO mostly different market. Different games, different target audience. But there would have to be some overlap, yeah.
And a far bigger marketing budget. It’ll sell well no doubt.
already more capable
You're misunderstanding the appeal of Nintendo consoles - the PS3 / Xbox 360 were both "more capable" than the Wii, despite the Wii outselling them both. Same can be said for the Switch and competitors at the time, e.g. PS4, and even handhelds like the PS Vita.
Wouldn't even say that it's people liking Mario games - it's that they manage to reach a cross-section of consumers which the handheld PCs (e.g. Steam Deck and the like) will never reach, e.g. "non-gamers" who only play Animal Crossing, kids playing Pokemon…etc., families buying them as Christmas presents, "single game" players (I know of plenty who bought the Switch just to play Smash), and others.
For some reason, Nintendo have done a really good job at just being the default console of choice - everyone feels that they need a console for the living room TV, even if it's just to play Mario Kart once every year. It always happens to be Nintendo.
For some reason, Nintendo have done a really good job at just being the default console of choice
Except for the N64, the GameCube and the Wii U.
All great consoles, but certainly not the "default console" of their times.
N64 was still heaps popular. At least compared to the gamecube and wii u.
The ds smashed it
go look at how many copies every Nintendo 1st party release sells and come back
Great platforming game, can 100% in around 15 hours. Thought it would be silly but couldn't believe I just went nearly non stop trying to complete it. Each level is short enough for start/stop playing.
Probably can get longer playing time if you go online with Mario Kart and also greater for multiplayer so this bundle probably the better choice if you had to choose one
Yeah loved Mario Wonder. It's high quality.
But way too short. Super Mario World had 96 levels in the 90's guys. This one has 152 (69 full "main" levels).
Overall, a bit disappointing, If I'm honest. Super Mario 3D World (2013) is easily the better game.
Yea definitely was short but a great 2D game!
Super Mario 3D World was like finished the game and !!! unlocked more worlds and difficulty/platforming went up a notch
All great experiences!
Will Officework price beat this ?? Looking to buy this for my kids!! Dont think i can afford Switch 2 at launch!
HODL!
Due to inevitable stock shortages and scalpers?
I'd probs wait for Switch 2 at this point
Should wait for switch 2. rumour says it should come out on a thursday late may or early - mid june. but who knows
I assume this cant be used on tv? Its hand held console?
It works on both. Obviously, the OLED handheld screen won't be relevant when playing on TV.
isn't this the same as whats in Target?
https://www.target.com.au/p/nintendo-switch-oled-model-white…Yes, price match target
If you have gone this long without a switch at least wait until more information about the switch 2 is revealed (particularly the price point) to see if the OLED is still a worthwhile purchase for you.
I just had my switch lite shell swapped/hall joysticks & super5 OLED screen replaced. Very happy.
To the one neg me. If you neg me because you never heard of this OLED mod, Google super5 oled. If you simply hate other people doing something differently, can not help.
Maybe it doesn't matter so much for OLED, I wouldn't know, but it looks like it's a 1080p panel so it scales the 720p image to fit https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-super5-oled-screen-mod-for-t…
old model softmod ftw
waiting for Switch 2
