  • Don't forget the 59c cashback :)

And Groupon credit is valid till 31st March 2015…

Have credit valid till 31st March, not sure whether to take up this offer but shorten the expiry :S

  • +1

The credit is provided as a Groupon Credit code, so you won't be able to use it with any other codes that may be applicable at the time.

    • wow - that's a bit lousy! (more on not being able to buy multiple vouchers and stack them, but pain to miss out on other codes too)

Pay $20 more, convert to $50 Gift Card, extend expiry till 30 April 2015 (ie another month)

      • What about the free movie?
That was the major feature of this deal!

That deal is just a discount gift card with slightly longer expiry. Reports of it taking weeks to arrive on another Groupon deal. This deal gives credit almost straight away.

        • Yeah that's what I mean… buy this deal, then use the credit towards the gift card to extend the expiry and allow a discount code to be used… :)

        • @Spackbace:
Ok - didn't understand what you meant by 'convert', but Gift Card took 3 weeks to arrive

        • @brucefromaustralia:
Yeah but as I'm sure you know, anyone with a positive experience isn't going to express their opinion as much as someone with a negative experience ;)

But hey, $48.05 for 2 tickets and $50 credit could be good, I'll wait and see how long it takes for the $30 credit to come to me

        • @Spackbace:
          Positive experiences dealing with Groupon?

I've had only negative ones lately. I bought a meal described as a seafood buffet with oysters, prawns, etc. After purchase Groupon emailed me to say it was changed to almost no seafood deal. Groupon did not offer a refund! Rather they said the less interesting deal was same $value and a great deal. I tried the buffet - hot food was barely warm. Groupon finally gave a full refund after I posted a very negative UrbanSpoon review, and to um… take action which may harm their reputation.

Raise an issue with customer service online, and they repeatedly answer a question different to the one asked :-(

After years of using Groupon, my impression of them is mainly negative.

See the negative experiences here like banks billing for overseas transactions, as credit cards are transacted in Europe by Groupon. Yes, if you notice you can ask for that bank fee to be refunded by Groupon, and wait. You agreed to that in t&c!!

See the Choice article & my long summary of it, or bank charges in that deal.

So it's very much buyer beware with Groupon :-(

  • Any positive experience there? May give it a try :D

    • its nice for once in a year, nice atmosphere, though too many hipsters with bad manners, bring a good bean bag or mat and come early as it gets packed

      • I went to the Sydney one last year and saw Philomenia. I didnt see many Hipsters then, could be movie choice maybe, did you see one about drinking organic coffee and making your own leather bags?

  • Bought 2, had $24 credit, using voucher it was like $4.05 out of pocket.

Used OPs private referral link, should give him $10 credit :)

  • The code applies to the total order, not to each item separately, so if you're after two cinema vouchers (and $30 groupon credit in total), you get $1.95 discount, not 2x$1.95. And in one account the code might be used only once.

Apart from that, you get the vouchers instantly, but need to wait for the credit a couple of days.

  • Damn, I shouldve bought 1 deal, waited till the credit came in, then bought again!

Given its a code, can only use 1 lot of $15 credit per deal, cant stack them

  • +1

Still waiting for the groupon credit to come thru… anyone get there's yet?

Deal is on again, for those that have received the $15 credit vouchers, use them again, works fine :)

    Cheers OP

You do like your movies ;-)
Pity it wasn't available where I am. Did a buy movie & credit with previous movie & credit deal, last year. Worked well.

  • Its a good idea until you buy one and the offer sells out by the time you get your voucher leaving you with a single ticket !
