  • What's the minimum spend?

    • +2

Does it have to have a min spend ?

    • $0 I think

  • Good timing, thanks

  • Which "Eastern time" are you referring to? There are 2 on the east coast of Australia.

    • AEDT I would assume?

  • I had to cancel a deal on there last week (electrician), could not get the guy to arrange to come out.

Same. Had to request a charge back for a removalist that seemed unwilling to answer his phone.

      • Same. I was tired of messing about with tradesmen, so when I saw a packaged deal for a dunny, fully installed! But they stuffed me around big time and so had to cancel. And cancelled an oven clean service after no replies. Never buying a tradesperson deal again.

        • And living social will only refund you in "deal bucks". Gee the credit card companies must hate them, they probably generate a lot of charge backs.

        • Got caught with Groupon only refunding me with 'credits' when their 'gift card' failed to work! But the toilet cost over $300 so no way that I can use that up in credits. So are you saying that LivingSocial will not do refunds and that I will have to do a CC charge back?

  • Can you use the code on more than 1 deal?

    • Nope, code can only be used once. Unless there's a way to add more than 1 item to cart. If that's the case, facepalm for me!

    • One time use only.

Who still buys coupons from these sites. Quite a lot of "overpriced RRP" deals. Deal is good but in reality what is there to buy.

    • +1

Agreed, nothing really special with Living Social, COTD and Groupon anymore I guess. Novelty wore off. Although sometimes you can catch a really good deal. Once got 10 mandarin lessons for $35 courtesy of LivingSocial. Let's see if there's anything worth buying this time

    • Ok when you buy 1 discounted deal with another discounted deal.

Where else could you buy 2 movie tickets & 2 Hour Handyman & Garden Maintenance for $41.46, or similar deal?

eg expired Event movie + $13 Deal Bucks for $13 (bought with 15% off code for $11.05 plus expected 12% CashRewards of $1.32 - in my account waiting, making $9.73 deal) plus 15% off another deal now, paid for with those discounted Deal Bucks.
You have a year to use Deal Bucks, & these 15% off deals are pretty regular.

I'm considering a 2 Hour Handyman & Garden Maintenance ($59). ($22 left to pay after paying for 2 $13 deals for $19.46). Even less if CashRewards pays out 12%! Waiting on garden service to say if they will perform service in my area.

    • all the time. Indian/Italian/Chinese for 2 people, main, entree, sides and dessert for $29? most places will charge you $14-$22 for 1 main alone.

i've even had a few times the same for $19 for 2 people, and some of these places have the best food I've ever had, just hidden away so don't get much business, hence the coupons.

  • Handy time to use any Deal Bucks (credit bought with free movie ticket deal).

I'm doubting I'll buy off the site any more as there's never much worth it. The only decent deals lately have ended up in me having to cancel but this is what just came up (no expiry date mentioned):
