  • Does anyone know if this works well with the Optus TV Fetch box? I find playing large Blue Ray Rips via USB Key sometimes fails to produce any sound and many movies play with subtitles without an option to turn them off.

    • It has transcoding, so probably. Worth a try?

I didn't realise this company was located just down the road from me in Notting Hill! I'll see if I can pickup one of their support team and have them around my house setting up my media shares so it all works seamlessly.

        • offer them coffee at your place :D

    A review is here http://goo.gl/ned7FO

    • Thanks for that :)

  • +1

I use ps3 media server. is this a similar kinda thing or totally diff

  • +4

Works. Thanks OP. Not sure how it measures up against PLEX but worth a try

  • I use Serviio, but grabbed this too…cheers OP :)

  • +6

    Conceiva?
Make sure you use plenty of protection with this software…. don't want any little accidents.

  • Got one thanks!!! I'll give it a try this weekend.

  • I use Mezzmo - great software.

  • +2

What's the difference when compared with PLEX. It is free.

    • -3

I used PLEX a long time ago - sorry, can't remember much about it to compare it with Mezzmo.

  • Cheers OP

  • You're a legend TA. Thanks heaps for this.

  • +5

Same as the rest - how does it compare to Plex? Looking at the pics, kinda looks identical to Plex… Hope they aren't stealing someone else's work!

Edit: reddit to the rescue - http://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/2tb1os/plex_vs_mezzmo/

Highlights : No iOS support, Windows server only. I run Plex off my Ubuntu NAS, so thanks but no thanks! :)

    • Thanks for the research/info. No iOS support is very handy info!

  • -2

Thanks for this, just got 999, never know I might need to install it on a few devices :)

    • Time to share some codes!

    • +1

And this peoples is why it isn't working.

    • Hey you just got an honorary mention (NOT) in the response from Conceiva!

      • +2

I do feel better knowing hjwilson won't get any now.

  • Something like Plex

  • Be good if this was for Mac too

  • Thanks TA

  • +1

Looks good but not a complete Plex competitor because Plex can run direct off a NAS OS (Xpenology & Ubuntu for instance) whereby Mezzmo needs to run on Windows. This is a dealbreaker for some but may not be for others as it basically just means you'll always need a Windows based machine running somewhere in the house and that's something I really don't want to be forced to tether to.

  • Thanks OP. Will try it. My Blueray player can play 95% of the movies, so will see if this can handle those.

  • +1

How does this rate up to Kodi aka XBMC?

  • What's the difference between this/plex vs a shared directory?

    • Media Server software such as this & Plex do a lot more. They automatically download the metadata and organise your collection so it's all nice & purdy when navigating but if that's not important to you then just stick with the shared folder method. Grass Roots solutions are sometimes the best!

There may be other very obvious differences too but I'll let others chime in.

      • cool, thanks mate. Yea might give this a shot then :)

    • Windows folder sharing was concocted by bill gates to piss ME off and make ME feel stupid.
Sorry all you got caught up in it too.

    • Plex Media Server will also transcode your media on the fly if your client doesn't support the original format. Plex will keep track of which TV episodes you have watched and offer suggestions, eg. next episode in current series. Plex has mobile apps to either control another client or act as a client themselves, ie. control a Windows client connected to a TV or play movies on your tablet from a server on a PC. If you stop a movie half-way through, Plex will remember and ask if you want to start from where you left off. That's just a bit of the functionality.

  • They want to charge for the android app too………$4.80

    • … just like Plex

      • And it appears every Friday night…

    Thanks TA
I think they sent me four serial numbers
Hence the name concieva, wish would multiply my money too

    • Hey, could I request 1 serial no IDF you're not going to use it? I missed out on the deal and would love to try it out. Thanks

      • +1

        Hey
        Check ur PM

        • Thanks CandyMan. Will give it a try tonight.

  • I paid $25 for this almost a year ago.

Best streaming software I've used (PS3 Media server, Plex etc.)

    • Agree. I've been using Mezzmo for several years now after having frustrations with PS3MediaServer when I moved off using an xbox for my media player and could no longer just dump things in a folder.

Mezzmo works great, simple to use and when you do have problems the support is friendly and helpful, quickly sending out fixes for my specific issue and then including it in public updates.

  • just got this below
Error: The coupon entered is invalid. You may try another coupon, or proceed without entering a coupon.

  • Coupon is invalid..

  • "Error: The coupon entered is invalid. You may try another coupon, or proceed without entering a coupon." :(

  • got this after entering the code:
Error: The coupon entered is invalid. You may try another coupon, or proceed without entering a coupon.

    any idea?

  • coupon code now coming up invalid

  • Don't forget folks, a DLNA media server is built into Windows Media Player (since Windows XP) - but without the transcoding of course.

  • Ozbargained?

  • yep same, coupon is dead…

  • Not working

  • Yeah I think someone needs to get the Expired Stamp out

  • Expired?
Error: The coupon entered is invalid. You may try another coupon, or proceed without entering a coupon.

  • No longer working :(

  • Anyone got a spare code that they wouldn't mind sharing? please

Just found this in a forum…

I'm from Conceiva, the developers of Mezzmo. We've just turned off this coupon (yes, it was a test coupon that we were preparing and it was a mistake that it leaked out) so congratulations to all those that now own a copy of Mezzmo. We hope you enjoy using it and we will honour these 'free' purchases (except for those greedy people that bought 999 copies!).

For anyone interested, I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have about Mezzmo. I have read through some of the posts here, so some answers:

    • About us - we're an Australian software company that have been developing software products for 10+ years. We've been developing software mostly for the Japanese market for most of this time, and Mezzmo is our new streaming media product.

    • Mezzmo installer contains no extras, spyware, malware, etc. It's legit software. It's Windows only (at the moment), but you can install it on Linux using Wine. There is also a Mezzmo Android app available on Google Play and Amazon AppStore.

    • Mezzmo vs Plex vs UMS vs Serviio vs Kodi/XBMC. It does come down to personal taste. Mezzmo does have more media server & streaming features than the other products. Features include DVD/Blu-ray/ISO streaming, transcoding on-the-fly, 5 types of playlists, dynamic folders, full parental control (hide sensitive material), merged folders, content ratings, subtitle streaming, Play To, pre-transcoding, full metadata for movies, TV shows, music, etc., device profiles included for all popular devices + more. You really need to test drive it to experience it or head over to our web site to see screenshots, etc. (www.mezzmo.com). One feature that most users like over all the other products is the ability to customise your library/folders/playlists/files as you wish. Happy to go into more details if anyone is interested.

    • Chromecast support - yes, via our Mezzmo Android app

    • Roku support - yes, device profile included

    • Xbox 360/0ne support - yes, device profiles included

    • Amazon Fire TV (+ Stick) - yes

If I've missed anything, let me know.

    (…And a PC is regarded as a Windows-based computer where I come from :) )

Just wondering if anyone has a way to stream Foxtel Go from my iPad to my TV?

I have a smart TV, xbox one and blu-ray player if any of these help with the streaming.

I have foxtel go on my ipad from my parents account, without actually having foxtel at my own place.

    any help is appreciated :)

    • +1

I do the same thing but have the app on my Macbook Pro, can then get it to the TV via a cable. Not sure if a cable exists for iPad but would be interested to find out

      • I believe a cable does exist for the iPad but i've heard somewhere that when streaming foxtel Go there's a bar that just makes it blank screen (or something along those lines)

Knowing it works on a mac book gives me hope though so I'll see if i can borrow a cable and test it out

        Hello,

Had a bit of previous experience with this myself so i thought i would share.

iPad to TV - The only way this is possible is if it's been Jailbroken, developers have purposely have turned off the Video Out and Airplay Mirroring features of this application so it isn't possible. There are tweaks available that will allow you over-ride this but reading reports from other users it isn't always compatible with each Foxtel GO App release and you need to wait for the developer (of the JB Tweak) to release a fix constantly.

PC (or mac) to TV - I tried two separate ways of doing this.

Chromecast - Used Chromecast to mirror my desktop, but it was far too choppy to be watchable, don't even bother.

HDMI to Ethernet - What i currently use, a HDMI to Ethernet adapter ($25-ish off eBay) for my PC, run the cable through any walls or across the floor if you will, then the other end converts back into HDMI, simply displays as a new second monitor for your PC. Quality feels the same as having a Standard Definition Box on a 55' Plasma from a normal distance sitting away.

        Hope this helps.

        • Awesome info, thanks mate. Thought this might be the case with the iPad. It is a regular generation 2 iPad so may even look into jailbreaking it..

        • Does anyone know what resolution Foxtel Go is available at?

      • Think the cable i have for Macbook Pro is "Lightning to HDMI" could be wrong but pretty sure. Works like a second screen, so i just drag the app across to the TV then push it full screen. Sound comes across too.

    • Tried Airplay? There are many software Airplay host solutions now. XBMC is a good free one.

  • I am running the free 'Serviio' server at the moment, but some how my Sony TV cannot see the xvid avi files. The TV can see and play the mpg, mp4 correctly. I thought avi files would be the first format any streaming server would support. Does anyone else encounter the same issue? Does Conceiva Mezzmo support all three formats?

Edit: see above, however with the free 'Plex' server the Sony TV cannot see the mpg files.

  • I did download the software, but didnt get the mail with registration key. Anyone got the key? Mind to share if you have used it.TA?

  • +1

One of the best media servers I've come across, Have had it for a few years now, transcoding files that others don't, great find TA.

  • oh its expired??.. anyone else to share a key??

  • Hmmm I got the software as well but no email. Anybody else miss it?

  • I got it - quite like it - especially starting to play the content from my Android to the Samsung Smart TV (series 6). Pity if I play a MKV it lags.

This is running the server on an i5 laptop with 4gb connected on wireless. Will need to try the wire.

    • From what I am looking at you can have your computer actually pre transcode so it is done before you are watching it.

      • Had a look at the settings but could not find it. Please let me know if you do?

Changed to wired network between TV and "server" and it`s now playing without lag.

  • If anyone still has a spare key it would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Same here. I thought I got a free version from SharewareOnSale.com but after downloaded the mezzmo-setup.exe the code was no longer valid, even though the website said at the time valid for another 4.5 hours. :(

I really want to try it out to see if it's any better than either Plex or Serviio of which my TV cannot see/play certain file type.

  • Does this have a form of EPG so can watch standard TV through this as well ?

  • damn.. do anyone still have additional licence? :)

  • Does anyone have a spare key? I would love one.
