    Wow! 800x600?!!! Overkill! Who needs more than VGA…

    Crikey, my SVGA big screen 15" CRT will be awesome 25 metres from the tower.
    What is this, 1997?

  • Really?

    I believe these cables are a decent alternative for projectors that are placed a far distance (say 25m…) away from the image source. For example, my church has a projector mounted on the roof in the front and the laptop/mixer is in the far back corner. In this particular case the projector is only used for presentation slides so 800x600 is more than adequate in most cases.

    I am unaware of any other cheaper alternatives?

  • Good example of someone selling something they know nothing about. Everyone knows that even the cheapest vga cables can convey video signals with more than 600 lines. I think even greater than 1500 lines.

      You're probably right. But on a 25m run, you can run into ghosting problems which get worse at higher res.

    The description might be bs, but it's definitely a good price for a 25m VGA cable if you can pickup.

    I miss degaussing my monitor.

    • say, that would make a good retro app/prog.

  • 25 metres is huge

    I'm guessing this wouldn't do 3840x2160?

  • +2

    Isn't max VGA resolution higher than that?

    • VGA is 640 x 480. SVGA is 800 x 600. But yes, these cables can do more. Not sure exactly how much, but at least about 1680 x 1050.

        You can definitely do full HD with VGA cables.
        But at 25m? Probably not!

        • hmm, i thought it didnt matter for ditigal ca0bles

          @nick nick: for digital. Not really. But VGA is analog.

    If only they would invent a cable that carried both video and audio

    • cough cou..HDMI..gh cough

      • If only they invented a device to replace my pager, calculator, walkman, diary, alarm clock and camera

        • Alright, you win, good sir! I admit my defeat.

          My Nokia 3250 has a pager, calculator, walkman player, diary, alarm clock and camera. But no pager

          @tio:
          That sounds awesome. I'll have to look into one of these. Since my Walkman broke, I've had nothing to play my cassingles on!

          @Snoop:
          That's what you get for buying lock-in tech. All I need is a sharpened toothpick, a roll of cardboard and a lazy susan and I can play my vinyl almost as well as my bakelite…

    my card doesn't have these inputs……must be some super new technology! /s

  • This could make a good tow cable….
