  • $9.95 shipping kills it, can get them for ~$17 including shipping from ebay

  • Agreed. It's cheaper on ebay. I bought one exactly the same with the headphone jack shutter release for $9 including shipping.

  • I went to Singapore during the Christmas break and was surprised by the number of people carrying these things to take selfies. I remember when it was first posted here on OzBargain as a Kogan deal, people made a lot of fun of these things. :)

I honestly can't believe that this is a thing.

Every time I hear the phrase 'selfie stick' I mentally cringe and become just that little more bitter towards the world in general. Damn kids, get off my lawn.

I'm 27. My almost-60 year old Asian mother really, really wants one.

        Help me.

The only thing worse than a selfie-stick, is taking a photo with an iPad…although I'm sure someone is already producing the selfie-stick for iPad!

    • bit of a workout for your arm

  • $6.99 delivered on eBay. Sorry but no deal.

i always used to use monopods with my DSLR for range and height shots ….this crap makes me embarrased to even use them because people will think it's just a selfie stick even if a DSLR is on it.

    Ah, narcissism… ;)

  • say what oyu will, i think these are a brilliant idea.

first saw these in thailand, and got one. they are brilliant, and i would recommond the bluetooth button as opposed to the wired one or even no remote. (having to set the self timer every photo will really annoy after a while)

its not just for taking selfies either. you can use it to take wider and higher shots, or to get better views from below. (ie. buildings and scenery, not upskirts [although i imagine that could be a problem for the perverts out there])

people will always be taking selfies, these just help to make the shots better than the traditional 'at arms length selfies'.

one of the most creative things my friends did was to set the video camera on and record himself spinning around at night at luna park, vic.
sounds lame, but the effect was awesome, and i challenge you to find a way to do that without a selfie stick.

    peace out!

We bought these for our niece and nephew for Xmas. But we can not get it working with any Android phones at all.
We had try downloading all the Camera 360 apps out there. But still no luck. Can any kind souls please share any tips or hints.
    Great appreciated.

ps: work on iphone 4 n 5 like a chime.

    • I would take it back as it is most likely to be faulty. I have an Android (Samsung Galaxy) and it works fine with the Camera 360 App.

    • I believe the trick is to hold it in one hand and insert a butter knife into a toaster with the other hand.

I just don't get it… I use the selfie stick i was born with… aka 'my arm'

    • Take a selfie with the arm that you were born with, and then another selfie with your arm extended by selfie stick. Compare the 2 photos and maybe you will 'get' it then

People can make fun of selfie sticks but in this sad world, I wouldn't trust others not to run off with my phone/camera if I ask them to take a picture

      • lol I don't take selfies, so i guess I'll never get it.

I do understand why people would use them, I don't understand why people would pay for them lol
