Didn't even know betta electrical still had stores, Everyone i ever known of has shutdown.

    • They have 151 stores around the country

  • I was waiting for a Betta bargain…

  • Retravision franchisees in some cases rebranded as Betta. I don't know how much it has helped.

This may be of interest for people buying whitegoods, since stores may match/beat other sellers. Not sure about that, though.

I also wonder how the Betta places stay in business - maybe their market is locals who loyally buy all their stuff at the one shop.

Maybe this is a suitable gift to grannies - to finally update their kettle or microwave. :)

  • I went to Springvale VIC, the person serving me didn't have any idea so put me onto his manager who was not fluent in conversational English.

He basically just read the sign back to me when I tried to confirm if there are any additional steps involved after purchase, and then after that I was just like okay I'm just going to do it anyway because that wasn't going anywhere, so I asked to buy the giftcard.

Then they said that they don't have any instore you have to buy them online. It was a total waste of time why even bother putting it in their catalogue or an instore sign.

The shop was very rundown and set up like it was from the 80s. The computers they were using looked extremely outdated and they were filling in forms for other customers by hand. Honestly I don't know how much longer Betta will be around. They are not thriving like Harvey Norman which I would have thought they were in the same league as many years ago. They are about as common as a Blockbuster or Civic Video.
