u asked too early, haha.wait for 24h before calling them again.
I signed up in a store no issues at all.LOL - yeah perhaps I should've just gone to store. Thanks.
I asked the lady I spoke to on the phone to email me straight away with confirmation of the plan change and free speed pack upgrade and she did.
Other than the email direct from her, I don't think I would've received any other emails until the notification in the mail which I got after the next billing month began.
Thanks @unco
Got an order ID and a chat ID - luckily I saved the screenshots.
Called up the next day and after waiting 30 mins being transferred to two call queues, they found my order where my address was spelt wrongly - Layer 8 error!
Anyway - just got a followup call for an appointment for onsite install.
Sorted out well.
Anybody had any luck scoring the 100/40 speed upgrade for the NBN for free?
you won't get this.
- i Guarantee it
Optus are charged from NBN for the different speeds.
whereas cable its just their own infrastructure.
Yeah that would make sense.
Am still trying to find a fault in this deal…there must be one…else it sounds too good to be true for the NBN part. :|Its just a promo they are running to lock in customers.
the gotacha's are they aren't the greatest quality provider when it comes to international websites and downloads.
And also Fetch tv is gonna die with netflix. Heck they have even developed an APP within netflix to watch fetch..
just my 2c :)
P.S i signed up for this deal today lol
@letthiswork1: LOL! Sign up and yet criticize the plan :P
Am worried about performance for downloads, uploads and online gaming to international servers.I already have Netflix US, won't be signing up for AUS, Fetch TV has some premium channels the Mrs would love to watch.
What is this app within Netflix to watch Fetch you mention about? Or is it the other way around?@shadowarrior:
Haha well i havew telstra cable atm which i love.
Getting a second link with optus =-pIts a bit of a sham really. All it will be is a App on the fetch device where you can login with your netflix details. Just another means to access netflix and try and make optus feel as through the fetch tv is relevant.
@letthiswork1:
I haven't checked pricing difference yet though but what's the difference on Fetch vs Foxtel for the entertainment pack for example? If I can get something cheap off Foxtel maybe, I can then pick Foxtel and move from TPG to iiNet.
what speeds are torrents capped at?
What about FTP?
I changed to this plan yesterday and was told that the change would come into effect on 01/03/15. However, when I log onto Member Services, my old plan still appears. Did this happen to anyone else? How long does it take for the change to be updated on Member Services?
Today IS Sunday and therefore action to update things may not take place until tomorrow, i.e. a regular working day. If you are concerned ring customer services.
Called customer service. I have been told you need to go to menu, manage, subscription, then add entertainment pack yourself. Even though it still shows as $15/month, the fee will not be deducted from your account.
No, does not sound right. Mine automatically changed to the new plan on 1/1 as I was told.
I didn't add it in myself, the whole thing changed over at once.
Just signed up with online chat and received also got free speed pack upgrade for free (valued at $20 per month). Haven't got a confirmation email yet. The Optus chat sales rep said I would get it within 24 hours.
Did you anyone wait a long time for the confirmation email after sign-up or was it immediately sent? Shall I chase up optus?
