He is probably referring to the 5% you can save on egift cards from the likes of Cash Rewards or maybe even the 7.5% savings on e gift cards from the entertainment book in December.

The A5 is obsolete.
the 2nd gen is $100 more… that's more than a bit.
A5 is 4 years old now.
Whereas the A7 in the iPad Mini 2 is also in the Mini 3.
The A5 product support is probably going to be ending soon, while the A7 will last quite a while longer.
