    pricing error?

And….If you happen to find a lower price on a stocked item, WE'LL BEAT IT BY10%

  • +2

thanks candy man, this is awesome !!
I wouldnt advise it, but spraying this on fishing bait makes it IRRESISTIBLE to fish.

    • +13

Won't it repel the ocean? In fact throwing a can in the ocean could be as dangerous as googling 'Google'.

    • +4

don't do this - use a proper 100% fish oil

WD40 has too much of a petrochemical smell for the rumours to be true

  • +1

Heading into my local right on open time. If this pricing error is correct, it'll be the best $2 I've ever spent!

    • +1

      $2! u mean 2c

      • +12

You underestimate the power of an Ozbargainers propensity to stock up. 100 cans = all of my christmas presents sorted :)
… although, $1 worth would be enough (50 cans)

  • +3

It is for the display unit only

WD-40 275g Lubricant With Smart Straw Prepack Display Stack

Each WD-40 275g Lubricant With Smart Straw is sold seperately

    • See the description, maybe a promotion or pricing error

      • +2

        The cans are $6.20 each

        The cardboard display is $0.02

    • +2

If that's the case it's pretty dodgy that the Product Details tab describes exactly a can of WD40. There's a mistake in here somewhere.

  • +1

so they would round this up to 5c?…. unless you got 2c coin?

    • +8

      Doesn't $0.02 round down to $0.00?

      • -2

No, they round up nowadays - that got introduced without any notification…

Anyway, EFTPOS is exact - so $0.02 it would be (although I doubt it is anything more than a price error that they won't honour, or for the display unit and a slightly misleading sign)

        • +4

No, they round up nowadays - that got introduced without any notification…

Any link to back up that statement ????

The department of Commerce states that rounding must be done up or down to the nearest 5 cents…

          without any notification…

        • @jv: Quote from your link to the Department of Commerce

It is important to note rounding need only apply to cash sales. When you use a debit or credit card, the transaction is electronic and allows the processing of payments such as $9.99 so there is no need for the amount to be rounded up to $10.00.

It doesn't say anything about using cash, and the matter of rounding down 2c, they would probably just refuse to sell to you if you pushed the matter. Still if using cash, at 5c it's a bargain fire starter for the next wood BBQ :D

They can't refuse to accept legal tender…

          Yes it does…

rounding must be done up or down to the nearest 5 cents

        • @jv:

not if you are banking with the NAB.

the other day, i went to pay my supplier's invoice and the girl at NAB told me that $75.82 becomes $75.85 if i pay cash.

        • @jv: There is no obligation for stores to accept legal tender.

        • +1

@t25: You went to the bank to pay a $75 invoice? No online banking or just keeping the transaction off the books?

        • @Fobsessive:

There is no obligation for stores to accept legal tender.

Call me old fashioned, but isn't taking money from customers one of the fundamental tenets of running a business?

        • @pmupsinep: because paid with petty cash, otherwise online banking would be the norm.

  • Time to fix those squeaky doors

    • You mean fix those squeaky ozbargain complainers !? lol

      • That fits the old adage "the squeaky wheel gets the grease".

    • can it fix my life? o.O

      • +1

        only vino can do that!

  • how many cans in a prepack display stack?

  • This is the cardboard stand.. It even says that wd40 with straw sold separately

    • This is the cardboard stand..

We know that… It says so in the title.

2 cents is a great price. Can you find it cheaper ???

      • +5

Yes, but what is its normal price?

        • +2

          25 cents…

        • +1

@jv: Do you have proof of that?? Lol just kidding jv

      • +4

This is its normal price… Where's the saving, it's the posters responsibility to show the bargain (this is me just regurgitating your posts from today's aldi post)

        • This is its normal price… Where's the saving

Nope, normal price is 25 cents… Unless you buy in bulk

        • +1

  • +2

anyone find any stores with stock?

  • +2

Think of all the activities you could do with that cardboard

  • +2

This almost looks like an internal code for a display box for WD-40 cans. The "Display Stack" is the key here.

It wouldn't surprise me if the 2c is actually for the cardboard box. A few retail shops I worked in had codes for stuff like this, a franchise orders them internally and they are delivered along with normal stock. They're supposed to only be displayed internally to staff, not to retail customers.

Somebody may have clicked the wrong check-box. has anybody confirmed they actually were able to buy a can of WD-40 for 2c?

Ahh, I just noticed under the picture: "Each WD-40 275g Lubricant With Smart Straw is sold seperately" - so it's for the cardboard display frame, NOT the cans!

    • +1

The description is for DW and not the boxes, its a bit confusing but makes sense that its an error. Maybe we'll find out tommorow

  • +2

Great deal for the cardboard display.

Last time I bought one, it was 25 cents !!!

  • +3

Bought one to store all my WD40 cans.

    • +2

with Xmas coming up, these will be great for kris kringles…

      • +1

Who are you kidding? Lowes was giving out $10 gift cards a few days ago. I can print that at the office for free. You've just spent 2c AND done it on your own time. Hardly a committed Ozbargainer.

  • Epic! You get a display full of WD40 that you can sell "seperately" :)

  • Anybody found this in Seven Hills or North Paramatta store?

    • Didn't see any at North Parramatta.

  • +2

I don't need display stack, thank you
But seriously who needs display stack unless you want to display millions of these WD40 Lubricants?
I like the description of these cardboards though!

-Penetrating power eliminates the need for many disassembles
    -Breaks through rust and corrosion
-Protective film protects metals against rust corrosion
-Displaces moisture to help start wet engines

Voted for fun anyway lets send it to front page

    • fist pump with me brah!!!

EDIT: no deal because it's not clear what this deal is actually for.

  • +1

    I'm confused… So i'm getting cardboard for 2c?

  • Wohooo!! Waitihg for masters to open for pricematch!

  • It's only for the cardboard display as it says CAN SOLD SEPERATELY..so i doubt they will price match ..unless someone is lucky enough to actually get Bunnings to sell the can to them and put up a docket

  • +1

i just go back from bunning warehouse epping -vic, i showed them the price from the bunning website and they were not believed, they scannned price and came out for original price $6.xx not $0.01 , but they gave me 1 for free because pricing error from bunning website

  • So u don't have an actual docket ? As my store bankstown are tight ass so I doubt they will do anything

    • he didn't give me a receipt, only got for free because they could not accept for $0.01

      • -1

So your transaction is not accounted for on their system, so it's practically stolen?

        • +3

How is it "stolen" if the staff member gave it to him to honour their mistake?

        • -2

          @pmupsinep:

well syaugi deceived bunnings staff into thinking the cans were listed for 2c, when it was clearly the cardboard marked at 2c

        • +4

          @mr kindface:

          syaugi deceived bunnings staff

Er, no. It's their own website, and they made the decision to honour the price. It's either a goodwill gesture, or individual staff error for not being diligent in their duties.

To summarise - Bunnings staff in a Bunnings store misinterpreted a price on the Bunnings website and made a decision as a representative of Bunnings to offer the can to the customer. There is no "deception" here.

        • +1

          "practically" stolen; unaccounted for

        • +1

@muncan: That makes more sense :)

        • -1

          @pmupsinep: less words; more punctuation

  • Oh ok you are lucky u actually go them to give u one !! So they wouldn't let you get more then one can ?

  • Shows as $6.50 at local store Joondalup WA

  • I just did a store order online for 10 to pick up in store (with something else), so we'll see what happens. Couldn't see a way to prepay for it so they'll probably just void it.

    • +2

Ha ha. They just rang and said it is for the cardboard display.

  • WINNER with this and COTD http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/product/ansell-chekmate-non-…
    How could you go wrong

    • +4

You're going to have sex 144 times with a cardboard stand using unlubricated condoms.

And you need other people to tell you where that could go wrong??

      • +2

        It's not ordinary cardboard
It's super cardboard it can also star wet engines!

        • +1

Well I'm sold. WD-40: The all-purpose lubricant. ALL PURPOSE.

        • +1

oh crap!!!! can you imagine the paper cuts? brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it……

  • I showed the bunnings website to some staff at masters and they said that they recently threw out their display stands as they kept getting knocked over and were flimsy ! haha, they said they couldn't price match this as it was not an item they stocked, and said it must be an error if bunnings were listing this item.. very odd ;)

    • WD40 is one product that has a lot of sizes purely so it is not price-matched.
      Bunnings might have a 175g, Masters a 200g.
