    Nice first post mate

  • $5.52 delivery to Melbourne (or $14.63 if you don't like FastWay)

    • Which postcode are you shipping to? I'm in 3013 and the cheapest shipping option I get is $17.82.

Thanks for the post OP. Looks like a big discount, however I found these reviews, which make me unlikely to buy it: http://www.amazon.com/ss/customer-reviews/B000MPQDZO/ref=?_e…

    • …except that one looks completely different….

    • I'm actually replacing the Event 14 with the Event 14 instant up. The original Event 14 as in the review, was good once up, but a pain to put up and take down. The fabric is not strong enough and ended up ripping after a couple of years.

      • I went the other way around, those are easy to set up but not nearly as good (sturdy, shape) as the older ones.

    • Wrong product tiger

    • Here's the closer review

I had the older event 14, it was truly horrible for ease of setup.

  • Wow. We have the Event 14 and paid more for it than this. Great price.

Bought Event 14 from Bunning for $ 107 after price match with Rays Outdoor.

    http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Coleman…

    • Hi patnn001,

I checked Bunnings website but they don't seem to do the Event 14 (or perhaps its my area).

Good link to the raysoutdoors one though - it would be my personal preference over the instant up; albeit the 'non deluxe' not waterproof model.

    • Wow. $120 member price from Ray's is a Bargain.

      • How are these shelters compared to gazebo? which one is better?

        • I would say gazebo is better hands down.

  • I notice there's no mention of protection from rain. Is this for sun protection only?

My quick scan suggests it is really quick and easy to set up but doesn't provide the same level of protection from sun or heat as the slow set up version.

Yep not very good in the rain partially due to shape.

  • By far and away one of my best purchases ever was a different Coleman shelter. No longer available … :(

    Except in the Phillipines:

I paid $175 around 4 years ago and it's great for the beach. Best of all it only weighs 8kg. All the others are 13-18kg. Lugging that around to picnics, beach, etc gets old real fast. It may not last too many more seasons since it gets so much use. Wish I could buy another one just like it.

I believe it is rainproof too Chewbot.. As long as the rain is coming straight down ;) You can buy walls for them though for about $30. Usually plenty on ebay, but none at the moment.
I have been following these for a while, and this is the cheapest price I have ever seen them!
I like that one person can put them up easily and they seem to fold down quite small and light (as best as I can gather from pictures online anyway). I fit all my camping gear in the back of my barina so the oztrail type gazebos are just too big.
Think the choice of white fabric for the roof is ridiculous and I'm concerned that the won't block much sun, but my last one was beige and it was fine.
Bought one anyway - thanks bigtimetowers!

  • That one does look good Seb

  • Thanks for the deal … just bought one!

I have one. You can get walls and a floor (around $30 each). Get at least two walls as the roof alone doesn't give you a big shade spot (the white colour works fine - white reflects most light after all) and the walls help keep wind and light rain out. You just move the walls to the sides the prevailing wind or sun is coming from. Floor is handy too.

It's a nice addition to a tent for camping or even a day event. Really good price as usually they are $199 on special. Pretty big packed up - about 1400x150x150mm (maybe a tad shorter, I'm not at home to check).

Goes up pretty easy but is susceptible to wind until you peg the corners/guys down. Shower and light rain proof. Good for 'out the back of the car' camping.

  • You guys reckon this would be okay to use as a carport?

    • +2

Too small, you'd barely squeeze a car in between the legs and half of it would stick out. Also the material wouldn't last long permanently out in the weather.

      • Thanks for your reply mate

  • Thanks, bought for summer camping trips!

  • got one, using it now…really need walls as its too high, even a 7 foot player can stand nside…

  • looks perfect for the kids' pool. Does BCF also sell the walls?

  • Went to BCF in Oxenford and they didn't have any, as it's a new store. Then went to an old store near Harbour town and bought one, but they didn't have any sides in stock though. Thanks for posting the deal.
