FREE Uber Rides with Heineken Promotion

190
OPENYOURCITY

Heineken is launching a chauffeur service with Uber as part of it’s Open Your City promotion. But this isn’t about getting you from Point A to Point B, so don’t expect a free ride to a destination of your choice…

Instead, each ride will be a unique experience and could be to a dinner or sporting events. The free rides operate on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 6pm to 9pm. There will be 45,000 rides over the campaign across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth & Adelaide.

How it works

  • Enter the promo code OPENYOURCITY in the Uber App.
  • You’ll be taken on an epic adventure to a secret destination.
  • No need to pay, this one’s on us.
  • Maximum of four people per experience. Like all great adventures, ours are one-way only
  • Smart casual dress code applies

This seems like something parents probably warned you about.. getting in a strange car to an unknown destination?

Is this UberX or UberBlack? (likely with Heineken branded cars)

  • Do you enter the promo code in Uber? And I assume dinner would not be included.

what about Brisbane, what are we just an overgrown country town or something, pffft.

    • 3 matches for me… furthest away was a 2 minute walk and 2 are only open in the morning.

      Well thought out promo

  • Wait, do you ask to be taken somewhere, or you just request a car, it picks you up and just takes you somewhere, free of charge?

I've put the location and DOB to the site, it then brings up 5 locations in Melbourne CBD and then (drum roll……)…nothing happens….

    So, how does this work?
Is it free dinner or it drives you to some location and you're on your own?

I put down Adelaide and it said that was nothing exciting near me

Can everyone detail what locations they go to? I'm currently in the uber car but have no idea where I'm going (Sydney Cbd)

From the little the driver is telling me you the wrist band gets you 'free entry and a drink voucher'.. I was hoping I was going to come home tanked on Heineken but I doubt that's going to happen on one voucher!

Pailngs bar Sydney, this is good for a free ride to the city if you already intended on going out, other than that it's nothing special. They give you a drink voucher and then forget about you..

  • i'm going to try it this weekend (Bris), not sure if want to be "spoiled" on the location :P

The Emerson, Melbourne. Got 1 free Heineken. Picked up by black uber Mercedes eclass class. And now I'm sitting here with nothing to do. Not sure if more is happening but there isn't any food or anything unless you buy it yourself

Similar experience, except they took me to Left Bank at Southbank, Melbourne.

  • so it's a case of, they dump you off at a bar, you get 1 free drink, then left to make your own fun with your 3 mates?

  • I'm trying it tonight in Bris, will report back.

Fox Hotel, Brisbane…I got 2 free drinks

Ok, so I got a really good experience so far and want to report back. Booked a car tonight and got picked up by a 1974 silver shadow Rolls Royce. Angelo picked up up in a suit and was waiting for us outside of his car.He gave us a wrist band and kept the location a secret. He did say he had one ticket to a concert (hardwell) at the botanical gardens but because there was two of us and the concert started already, it went to waste tickets were $80-90 per ticket!! Anyway we were dropped at at the workers club in Fitzroy, where Rolling Stones is having a popup event for 3 weeks here, and in store for us we have a gig to watch and a free beer each! Sweetttt surprise!!! - thanks op!!

  • Did this friday night.
Got pick up by an AUDI FWD of some sort?
Ride was from South Melbourne to South Bank.
Venue was Left Bank and got a schooner of beer each.
