Apple Magic Trackpad

The first Multi-Touch trackpad for Mac desktop computers. It uses the same Multi-Touch technology you love on the MacBook Pro. Supports a full set of gestures, giving you a whole new way to control and interact with what's on your screen. Let your fingers do the clicking, scrolling and swiping. Available in our approved Apple Mac reseller stores only.

Very good price & good product. No mice left in this household.

    • How does one play FPS with a trackpad?

      • Extremely carefully.

    • ^(profanity) dude you beat me to it by 50 seconds

If it's on their ebay store you'll be able to get an extra 20% off on Sunday..!

Unfortunately it's not available on their eBay store.

  • Why would you choose a trackpad over a mouse?

    • I personally prefer using this. It means you don't need to hold onto anything and it's like a giant Apple trackpad (including all the gesture goodies). The glass/metal surface looks and feels nice to use. Only negative I have for this trackpad is it needs to be on a desk/hard surface to click since it relies on physical pressure against the base to recognise.

      • One other downside is that over time the little rubber feet at the front (used for clicking) can start to move a bit and cause the buttons to stick 'on'. Fixable with hot-glue and 10 minutes, though.

        • Hasn't happened for me for a long time, I guess depends on how often this is used or on what surface.

      • You can turn on tap to click (or similar) that only needs a touch not a full press for it to register a click, works wonders!

    Do these bend too??

Pretty sure they do seeing how thin they are

  • There are ways to get this to work with windows too… running it at work to stop rsi. Not all functionality available, but double finger scrolling works fine.

    • You can get the Logitech trackpad for cheaper though.

    • I tried that, wasn't fluid enough, now using a $2 mouse

Finally something I can put my GG credit to after the Nintendo gaming fiasco from last year… means I only have to pay $20. This would also qualify for the $5 off next instore purchase deal too I would think (click-n-collect https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/content/clickandcol…)

    • I used my gift card as well.

  • What driver options exist for Windows 7 or 8 on a PC that will allow the multitouch gestures and swiping to work?

  • Damn I bought the logitech one from the other deal a couple of days ago.

Just ordered one of these as well though as the logitech one is clunky and has no mac multi-touch gestures.

    • If you bought the Mac version, the Logitech System Preference panel offers the same gestures. Only thing missing is handwriting support.

  • I got one for $66 @ JB last year.

  • any idea if there are drivers to make this trackpad compatible with windows 8? Got the logitech but it's just not as good as my macbook air's trackpad.

    • Try the Bootcamp drivers.

  • Used this full-time for a few months, then switched back to a Logitech mouse.

My fingertips would hurt after a few hours usage, and became very sensitive to pressure.

    YMMV…

Good deal, but buyers beware. I got mine sent to the Good Guys in Maribyrnong for pickup and they tried to offload this display one to me. It was unsealed (no plastic wrap), fingerprints on the trackpad, busted power button, Good Guys barcode and magnetic strip on the bottom of the trackpad and the trackpad itself was not even in plastic. Luckily I noticed and they exchanged me the last unopened trackpad in the store… can I say sketchy???

    • Yes, they did the same to my parent - see comment below.

THE BAD GUYS in Brisbane - Dodgy & false advertising. Stay away!

I emailed this deal to my parents. The deal is for a NEW trackpad, obviously. TGG sold an ex-demo one to my not-tech-savvy father claiming it was new. It was even named "Richard K's Trackpad" (name withheld as he's probably just a decent TGG employee somewhere). When I found out we took it straight back. They kept saying, "We'll get you a NEW one," like it was something exciting and special. No, people expect new products already so giving them a new product as a replacement is not exciting. Then they made all sorts of claims which included blaming Apple themselves for sending it to them like that. Morons!

So the moral of the story is… stay away from The Good Guys. I certainly won't go back there.

    • I got a used one as well! From TGG Oxley, how many used trackpads are there?

  • Bought one. Wait and see about packaging. Apparently works with my MacBook Air and iPad Air. Looking forward to test it out.

    • Macbook Air yes (not sure why you'd use it other than for ergonomics?) but a bit surprised about the iPad Air? I can't quite figure out what it would do.

  • Packaging was brand new here in NSW. New product. Works well with MacBook Air. Recommended.
