      Email them.worth a try.

      • Thanks, I'm doing it now.

        • The 65' is also eligible for $75 off now hmmmmmm

        • @ezza:

Yes, very sad :( Should of hold off to buy….

        • +2

@eleana: I emailed DSE and got the difference refunded in a gift card but still better than nothing. So worth a try.

        • @wtfnodeal:
That's a good news. Thanks for the reply wtfnodeal :) your name is funny ;) When did you contact them? Was it about this deal as well? I thought they don't work on Saturday.

        • @wtfnodeal:

What I got, as posted below, is simply "Not Given. I am not sure what base for them to make various decisions. Good for you anyway.

        • @eleana: that was a week ago. Strange that they made completely opposite decisions on you two requests. In many cases DSE fulfilled last orders first served in the past so I guess it is hard to know what their logic is.

        • @wtfnodeal: I'm not sure what DSE would do. I only received a template version reply this afternoon that said the refund request had been forward to the relevant team. I didn't received the first 'Not Given' email that mily got.

    • Me too, bought a 65" with 5% off coupon, and that's $33 difference. Sent DSE online an email this afternoon, received two emails as responds. The second one is a template version to inform me that "they have forwarded your refund request to the related department." However, the first email I received 2 minutes before the second email is as simple as two words, with no heading, no title etc, just simple two words Not given..

I guest it means a No? If so, this is the worst attitude I ever received from a customer service, and I don't even know who actually rejected my request. Anyway, just $33 difference, and if they give me that as store credit I definitely would spent some more in DSE because of that credit and the coupon codes.

I think your first email maybe a system glitch. I received an email the same as your second one. never received your first one, which doesn't sound like a rejection email to me. But I don't want to put our hopes up. I'm Really not sure what would they do.

        • I will call them up next Monday and get some real person to clarify it. After all, two words response is not professional and very rude to any customer, and doesn't have much meaning.

        • @mily: Did you get any news from DSE? I got a call and they said they can't refund the difference….

        • +1

@eleana: Hi Eleana, I called up this morning and the girl over the phone was very helpful. After a long hold she came back and told me that someone has already refunded to my account, however it will take 2 to 5 business day to show up. I haven't seen it in my account yet, so can be 100% sure.

        • @mily: Wow, I wished it was her who talked to me. Is there any chance you got her name? The woman talked to me said since I'd already used the 5% off code and there is only one code per order. She said she can't do anything, she even said Ok if I return the item. She said the price matching only works on the ticket price reduced, not the discount code. Sigh…

        • @eleana: We were only asking for the difference to be refunded, not using both codes. So it worth another try and see how it goes with different people.

        • @mily:
Still haven't received the credit yet, after one week. Maybe time to call up again after the long weekend.

I bought 55" earlier in week, received last night will test today. Also sent email requesting SHOP75 to be honoured citing 7 day price garantee , see how it goes….

    • I bought it Thursday night, it's still in transit.

Mounted 55" today. Works well, good sharp picture, good viewing angles, 100hz, sound is average compared to my old LG plasma though is far superior compared to other models in this price range (e.g. Soniq). Good remote and good menu system. Is a little slow in changing channels. I would recommend and I have not had to make any colour adjustments.

  • Pulled the pin on the 55 inch for the bedroom. Even had to create a mock template to convince the missus. The discount code was the deal breaker. Thanks for the people who made comments on the TV. Now for a deal on a decent 60 incher…

  • Any thoughts on the picture quality of the 65" for sports? Have seen lots of LCDs showing artifacts/halo effect around fast moving objects, wondering if the Seiki also suffers from this.
Visited a couple of DSEs today to see if they they had any on display - no luck.
Trying to decide between this and the LG 60" Plasma.

    • Look up the seiki on search and it will help to see more comments

    • Go for plasma if you intend to use it mainly for watching sports channels.

  • anyone received their TV yet from this order yet?

    i cant even track mine

been on the phone to star track

    and dicksmith in manilla.

    no hope.

    • +1

Mine 55" was delivered yesterday afternoon - Gold Coast. The tracking never worked.

      • Are you happy with it?

        • Haven't even unboxed it. Hopefully my wall mount will arrive tomorrow. If I'm bored I might crack it open tonight and have a look. I actually bought it for the bedroom so I'm not after perfection. I have a bright living room so I'll set it up there as I'm interested to see how light reflects and the blacks of course. I'll report back at some stage. Subscribe to the thread and you'll get an email when I do.

The picture quality is good but struggles with motion flow especially if you watch sports channels. Luckily bought mine for the kids cartoon channels.

My 65" Seiki turned up yesterday but I only got a chance to start using today and I'm happy with it so far. I think my Samsung 58" 2010 plasma has slightly better picture and up-scaling of SD TV broadcasts but high bit rate full HD MKVs look good and for the price I am pleased with the increase in screen size due to the viewing distance in my living room, especially for HD widescreen movies. The speakers sound pretty average maybe even slightly tinny/rattly at higher volumes but I'll be mostly playing audio through a surround sound system and some improvements might be had by applying some of the few simple picture settings but the TV is basic with no network or smart features and that's fine with me.

    • what suburb/ state are you from samlor?

      • Maroubra

    • Does it tv play mkv files through the USB port? Isn't the USB port for updates only?

      • +2

It can both play and record through USB.

        • yeah. I tried out last night and it played MKV files but strangely it doesn't support MP4 playbacks.

        • @wtfnodeal:
I haven't unboxed mine after a week, as we are moving very soon. But have you tried to rename your MP4 files to MKV and see if your TV recognizes them?

MKV is only a container, and the video can be encoded with any encoder. I see no reason why the TV won't support MP4 (Mpeg-4 or H.264).

        • @wtfnodeal: BTW, have you received credit/gift card from DSE as the refund of difference yet? My account is still showing $0 credit balance.

        • @mily: they will only refund you in gift cards. Yep got mine weeks ago. I bought mine from last deal for $739.

        • @wtfnodeal: Thanks wftnodeal. I will call DSE on Wed if the refund does not arrive tomorrow. Thanks.

  • The TV finally got delivered

Now I'm trying to find out how to change the refresh rate on hdmi source.

    It's on 60hz

Anyone know how to change it to 100hz

I've been through all the settings twice

  • Seiki 65" TV jerky motion problems. Is anybody else experiencing image stuttering? It is more noticeably in full HD steady panning scenes like the opening sequences of the film Divergent. And I find it very off putting. I have tried a few input sources, some of the limited TV settings and different HDMI cables but cannot eliminate it. I continue to try different options/settings but I am concerned that it can/will not be overcome. I was pretty happy with the TV until I discovered this issue [grr].

    • yeah like I said, contrast, brightness & colour etc is good but huge motion blur problem. I use it for my kids cartoon channels which doesn't bother me or them though.

      • How bad is it? Mine is still unboxed :(. Does it only affects sport programs or also happens to normal movies?

        • ? Just a quick Google you should find out what does motion blur mean. If one object moves too quickly from one point to another you can see shadow behind it and the object becomes blur. In worse case senarior it just disappears from this point and suddenly blinks to another point.

        • It is bad but I am starting to think it is the mkv video file together with the media playing software and computer hardware it is being decoded on. Especially if nobody else is experiencing this issue and it does not appear to affect TV broadcast. I intend try a few more options & settings but won't likely have much time to address this before the weekend.

I have a 1080p 60fps capable camera so may be able to produce a demo video. In the meantime, it looks a lot like this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmD5V6cwIw8 but worse whereby it pauses momentarily when the whole image moves in lockstep but not at regular intervals yet consistently in the same video segments.

It is not motion blur as described by wtfnodeal (thanks).

        • @samlor: I have the same problem when playing blu ray disc. Nothing to do with the Mkv files I believe. It is not motion blur then I don't know what is it called but the motion is just not smooth and the moving objects get blur every time it moves too quickly.

        • @wtfnodeal: Hope they will release new firmware to fix this issue. Has anyone been in contact with Seiki?

        • @wtfnodeal: Yeah, it is not smooth but stilted though I can see no blurring or disappearing. And, it is not in fast moving objects but it's like the movement hangs for a fraction of a second causing motion to appear stuttered. It is more noticeable in scenes where the whole frame moves like when the camera is panning steadily, even slowly as in the youtube video example I mentioned.

But, I don't mean to alarm owners of these TVs unnecessarily, as the same video file even showed some tearing using the same media player software on a faster computer and different monitor while it was much reduced when played using different software. Again, I want/need to do more testing when I have time and if it is not a widely reported issue then it is hopefully not a standard limitation of this 65" Seiki TV.

        • +1

@samlor: That sounds more like a en/de-coding problem, especially when you have no such problem when watch broadcasting.

        • @mily: That's what I am now expecting/hoping, thanks.
