  • Thanks OP! registered the DSE offer. I'll probably just spend $100 on eneloops if nothing else interests me.. #ozblife

    • -3

Spend it at DSE's ebay store today to get the ebay promo (extended) and the Amex credit. Good bargain.

      • dont think it'll work on the ebay store

      • It won't work on their eBay store. It has to be via their website or instore

      • It says in-store or at dicksmith.com.au

      • And remember don't check out with PayPal for online order

  • +2

I assume commonwealth bank issued Amex card does not work?

    • +1

The full terms and conditions say that it (the Dick Smith offer anyway) does work with bank issued cards (NAB, Westpacc, ANZ and CBA). Need to register at amexconnect.com.au though (as per most offers).

  • i wonder if you buy a gift card at a dse store whether it will work or not?

    • It will work

    • +5

Will work but you will be stuck with a DSE GC

      • Are they still Wish gift cards?

        • Not any more.

      • +7

I purchased a $100 Woolworths Wish Gift Card in store at Dick Smith (Perth store), got the $15 cash back and I don't have to buy anything from DSE.

        • Do you actually have the $15 credit on your statement?

        • @koganei:

Got a confirmation email that said:

Congratulations! You have completed all qualifying transactions on yourregistered Card ending in XXXXXX.

Your $15 credit for spending $100 at Dick Smith will be issued to your registered Card account. Statement credits are generally issued within 5 business days upon completion of your eligible transaction.

        • Is it definitely a WISH gift card and not a Woolworths only gift card? Went into Perth store today hoping to get a WISH gift card so I could use it at a variety of stores but they only had Woolworths gift cards. Asked about the WISH cards but was advised they don't sell them anymore.

        • +1

          @crazycrabs:
Card actually says "Woolworths Gift Card", back of the cardboard says says "You may use this card to purchase goods and services from participating stores listed in-store or at WISHgiftcards.com.au"

          https://everydaygiftcards.com.au/gift-cards/store-gift-cards

It is a Woolworths card but it is still a Wish Card and good for purchases across the whole Woolworths group, not just Woolworths.

        • @AnophthalmiaCervidae: How soon did you receive the email after your purchase?

        • @cristobaljames:

On my AMEX issued card it was pretty much straight away.

I got another gift card on my Bank issued AMEX card from the other link after I got the first one and no email came through. I was wondering if it was going to give me the $15 credit at all but the purchase was stuck as "Pending" in my recent transaction list for a few days and when it eventually did come through the $15 credit was there too.

        • @AnophthalmiaCervidae: Ok thanks, I checked it out and I have received the credit though it appears to be directly from DSE themselves. Im using the ANZ issued AMEX so perhaps there is not email notification..

        • @AnophthalmiaCervidae, thank you for mentioning this, took a couple of calls to track those cards down but finally did for the 2 of us else it would have been one of those promo's that I would have had to pass on.

  • O_o - did anyone else get this:

    Yeehaw!

T&Cs are screwy though. Wonder if it will actually be honoured:

    • wasn't that offered last month too?

      • I think the Shop Small last month was $5 off $20 purchase? It was $10 off $20 in last year's shop small.

    • Does it actually have 'x' in the one you see on the site?

I'm assuming those of us who signed up to it last month won't see it again.

      • Yeah, the text is copied verbatim - including the xx's - I didn't just blank those out.

It's limited to 20 people, I assume not many people are going to see it at all! Unless it's a mistake. Will try it and see… $20 isn't much of a risk :-P

  • +1

    …anddd there goes $85

  • is there anything for $1?

  • ANZ linked AMEX no go people :(

    • Not according to the full terms and conditions (for Dick Smith offer anyway)… see my comment above.

      • Doesn't appear to be in my ANZ one

        • Are you looking through the amexconnect site? I didn't see any of these on mine either.

      • Ive just tried again this morning, dont know if Im wasting time but I may call and have a chat with Dick.

  • Can't see this in my offers for a CBA card

  • What is the link?

  • Unsure if the DSE and mcdonald deal's can be used multiple times?

  • Can't see these offers on my Qantas Discovery card… anyone else having the same issue?

    • Yes.. I am having the same issue..For past few weeks, I am not getting any offers..

  • i got the dick smith on my qantas discovery card!

  • -1

dse gift card can be use in woolies. it's part of everyday gift card. we have tried it

    • That's before, they now use other issuer.

  • Can't see any of these on my Velocity Escape card.

    • in my Velocity Escape card

  • I have AMEX issued Card (CA) but dont see any of these.
Can someone please explain to me how this works?

    • +1

I have same card as you and mine come up in the AMEX offers at the bottom of the account page once you login via the americanexpress.com.au site. The other place you can look is on the iPhone app where the offers are mishmashed with your transaction history.

      • Thanx Jace, found it!
All along I had been checking thru Amexconnect :-(

  • +2

Buggered if I know why I can't see these. AMEX Platinum and these aren't showing up, again. This is the second month I've not had deals show up.

    • +1

i have platinum charge card and i have these offers
sometimes they come up a couple of days later

  • +10
    • Thanks docpol,

      worked a treat.

    • Well done with the post, Im sorted for my ANZ AMEX purchase now!!

  • The following are not Eligible Transactions:

    1. Purchasing a merchant's goods through a third party, such as through a department store, concession store, online aggregator or retailer
    2. Purchasing gift cards from a merchant
    3. Transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded
  • Anyone bought giftcard from Dick Smith and got the cash back? I saw AnophthalmiaCervidae's post above and just want to check of anyone else got it work. Thanks.

    • +2

Confirmed successful with Dick Smith giftcard. Going back tomorrow to get another $400 worth with my other 4 supplementary cards :)

      • How to get more supplementary cards? Can they all be in your name or must be another person?

      • Did your supp cards all qualify for the deal? I've never had my supp qualify…

        • +2

I have 4 supplementary cards linked to my Amex Platinum Edge all in different names (can be your mum, dad, dog etc), 3 x ANZ Amex (Black, Platinum and Regular FF) cards from that 50,000 bonus QFF points deal. Supplementary cards and bank issued cards only seem to work when there's a direct link to enter your card number (as linked in the OP). And to answer your question, yes all my cards seemed to have qualified because I got 8 emails from Amex saying "Congratulations…"

If you can get a low annual fee Amex that gives you free supplementary cards or even the platinum edge (I pay $99 annual fee), I think it's worth it with these type of deals.

        • @takamine:

Did they all receive the credit?

        • @uder:
          Yes, I can confirm I received 8 x $15 credits.

  • does the min $100 spend need to be on the same transaction to qualify or can it be multiple transactions as long as they add up to $100+ spend? i spent $5 at dse online and another $95 instore would i still qualify?

  • went to a dse and got 100 dan murphy gift card and got the $15 back

most only have dse and iTunes card, but some of the older run down dick smiths seem to have other old gift cards!
