Is LG 60PB6600 a good deal? Sorry I'm new to the whole TV stuff and have next to no clue about whether this is a good deal or not. Thanks
Would be great to get some confirmation on the Samsung 58" for $1188 plus gift.
The LG 60" for $996 plus $5 discount if you purchase online with pick-up looks great, and it comes with Freeview Plus so definitely not really old stock. The catalogue image isn't confirmation enough? http://images.lasoomedia1.com.au/imageicon/gdg/prod/j0056317…

Look at my links below
Just went to checkout both TVs, whilst they werent on display as shipment only arrived I found out some extra
info;LG has 'Freeview Plus' but no built in WiFi, so doesnt work correctly out of the box
Samsung is not a Smart TVBoth to me are none purchases now unfortunately
I Put in title the Samsung wasn't smart and your Better off getting chromecast for $40 than spending a few hundred more on a smart tv
LG has 'Freeview Plus' but no built in WiFi
Can't find the link now, but someone from another forum said there is a wifi dongle included in the box.
On the American lg site it says you can get a wifi dongle for free but the Aussie one says you have to buy
i got the 60" plasma today, but the wife and kids didnt want to walk home so i have to go back to collect.
got the pointer mouse and bluetooth/wifi kit to match.
its a 2014 modelHow much did the extras cost as their store in Carseldine Qld didnt even stock the wifi dongle?
all up came to 1054. i didnt try to haggle, just asked for best price.
Has anyone got the LG 60" Plasma from a previous deal and can comment on what they think of it? I had a quick look at one at at Good Guys and all the TVs there had a really bad quality videos going, made all of the TVs look terrible. So could not see if it was any good or not
WiFi Dongle was included with the Magic Remote (AN-MR500) $76 discounted to $66
website now shows 987
:(
Yeah its part of the night deals, that should be a happy face its extra off
Just ask TGG for the 120% diff price guarantee if you lose out $10.
I helped an elderly friend grab one of the LG 60-inchers yesterday. For their budget, needs and viewing area it was a good match.
However, TGG's staff were very unhelpful.
First, they had no idea whether or not the TV had wifi built in - it didn't help that LG's website was quite unclear about this but TGG's staff basically assured us that they thought it would be fine.
Suffice to say upon getting home and downloading the manual I found this NOT to be the case - which is really piss poor for a major electrical manufacturer in 2014 on whats a TV it set a RRP of around $1700 on! It's a sub-$5 component to include so thats really poor that it was a mandatory add-on.
This is extra daft given that the main difference between this their 2014 model and the 2013 model was 'smart tv' capability - but they didn't put the adapter in for it making people spends another ~$70!
TGG's staff had no idea about which adapter would suit and I had to go home and research and then come back and tell them (alas I could not get from anywhere else). I had a bit of a whinge and they claimed they'd give me it at cost price (yeah right!!!) - so $55 extra later I had been told to wait a week and I'd have the adapter and 'magic remote' bundle - and apparently the latter is a piece of crap (told by TGG's staff).
Pretty shoddy overall and if I'd been the one buying the TV I'd have walked on principle alone.
It has an Ethernet port for hard wiring it into the LAN, so the WiFi dongle isn't really "mandatory" for the smart features. Still pretty shoddy service though.
Whilst I understand your point thats tantamount to saying it's got control buttons on the side of the set so doesn't need to come with a remote control. :-)
Like I said a built-in wifi adapter is literally a sub-$5 component for the manufacturer and considering it comes on sub-$100 (often sub $50 ones!) audio visual components these days why their 2014 rrp$1600 TV doesn't have one is a tad surprising. Even the sales staff were gobsmacked when I went back and told them.
Just buy chromecast and chuck it in the Hdmi slot
Well that does essentially Youtube streaming from your linked device but not much else - so little help for anything other than this.
I think you'll find these days that a Chromecast will do everything the smart TV functions will. And probably better. And cheaper than the Wi-Fi dongle!
Does anyone know what series samsung?
