The title says it all. They added my favourite to the $7 range. Used to be over $9 at my local.
Enjoy the bacon without the extra cost!
Also $7 for the Italian B.M.T.

What's a BMT? I know what a BLT is but BMT…
Salami/Pepperoni/Ham. Allegedly stands for "Biggest Meatiest Tastiest".
It used to stand for 'Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit', but when they franchised out into the rest of the world, they changed it to 'Biggest Meatiest Tastiest'.
wut?
You can tell a guy made up that name LOL.
Some of us are old enough to remember when Subway first came to Australia and the wallpaper in their stores were covered with the maps of subway (railway) lines.
worked in subway before, can confirm^
Literally all the local stores near me on the Gold Coast still have the wallpaper
One on the sunshine coast still did till like 2 years ago when they moved.
Unfortunately Footlong Italian BMTs have more fat than a Hungry Jacks Whopper.
Never had that one. In the photos it looks like ham and salami. I can't explain the abbreviation.
Had one toasted the other day as a substitute for the $7 pizza sub. Think I still prefer the pizza sub.
You can ask for the marinara sauce before they toast it, so you get extra meat for less money compared to the Pizza sub, if that's what you're after.
Good idea! I'll ask them to hold off the ham while I'm at it.
When subway first came to Australia the BMT had 4 meats. Struggling to remember what the 4th one was but I think it was either roast beef or turkey. I worked at Subway at the time but they weren't very popular. What was very popular was the satay chicken…….can't understand why they got rid of that one.
Also; you cannot use coupons from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/155189 as it doesn't include already discounted offers.
I tried yesterday. No $5 footlongs!
Does anyone else think the image for this deal looks like the advice animal backgrounds?
The place I go to raised the $7 classic subs to $7.45 a few years ago and now they're at $7.85 I think. I stopped going to Subway after that.
I think all places in WA eventually raised the $7, can't stay forever.
Should've just reduced the size of the sandwich huh. Oh wait it's called a footlong … :p
You're lucky if you get 11 inches. There have been law suits about this too: http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2014/04/02/subway-reaches-tentative…
11 inches is still impressive
@muncan: It's not the size that matters, it's the sauce.
Reminds me of Pizza… a 'large' these days is what a small was 20 years ago.
'Large' Pizza these days - what a joke.
A large pizza was absolutely monstrous when I was a kid.
Liked your lawsuit link I wish someone was watching things closer here in Aus.
Good to see the current Pizza 'wars' going on though, guess it helps.
Alas, I digress (sorry)… Asked if/for $7.00 melt at Hoxton Park Subway today…. Nope.
Not at all Subways involved I guess - seems to me this one often isn't.
To be fair though - they do currently have the basic/current offer foot longs on for $7.00.
@Chris Farley: That's dodgy of them. While the website certainly has the usual "participating restaurants" disclaimer their store locator shows the Hoxton Park as an "Eat Fresh® Club restaurant". Weird, might warrant some more detailed questions.
@team teri: I will update my comments in favour of this Subway as I went back to get a 'melt' the next day - which I did get for $7.00. I'm guessing that the young person serving may not have known that the melt was one of the subs on sale when I went the day before & in fairness, I could have asked/questioned him.
So I'll retract my initial comment given that this Subway seemed to have made their staff better aware of the deal. I will also add that this was a GREAT sub that was made very well. Big thank you to the people who recommended the 'Southwest' sauce too, tried it out and it was very nice.
You said southwest again! +1
@Chris Farley: But a large pizza wasn't $4.95 20 years ago when Pizza Hut had a monopoly over the industry. We used to pay around $25-30 for 1 family pizza if I recall which was only a bit bigger than a typical 2014 large pizza.
Because of 85 cents? Wow.
You have to draw the line somewhere.
They did it for $7.85 (now $8) while other stores were still doing $7. They're the only store I go to due to location, and not going to them anymore means not going to subway, full stop.
85c is also a decent percentage of $7. If a car dealer overcharged me 85c it would be a rounding of f error, but for a sandwich we're talking more than 10%.
Was $4.95 in Perth City! ….about 6 years ago though…
$ub-weigh at Riverton WA has $7 classics all marked up to $7.45, but they happily tell you that if you flash your Seniors Card you get them for $7.
Also noted a few years back the seafood went from 6 scoops to 4 as did the bits of ultra-thin cheese.
(How DO they slice it that thin without it falling apart?)
It's not real cheese ;)
BMT is really good with pizza sauce and makes it taste just like a pizza.
Anyone know what sauce works best with Melt? Chick suggested Ranch yesterday which imo didn't go at all.
Three Pepper Chicken has also come down $1 to $9.95
I like a little bit of honey mustard with my Melt, but my tastes have been known to be quite.. Unique..
I ALWAYS get the southwest sauce.
Amen to southwest.
+1 for southwest from me too. On ANYTHING
@Wampus: Southwest
Southwest Chipotle
Garlic Aioli
Honey Mustard
or even just Mayonaise
strange combo but i can highly recommend marinara & sweet onion. Best on chicken fillet but also works on melt.
Have they reduced the width of the bread? Got one recently, seems smaller (in width) than the sandwiches a year ago.
Smart way to reduce the quantity while still calling it footlong :p
Your mouth has probably just got bigger (LoL)
Can you really lose weight eating these? I saw that video about all the extra fat and calories that aren't counted in the standard recipe. I don't even know what the standard recipe is. Also, I doubt there are any ozbargainers who would chooses the white bread, as it isn't a bargain.
Anyway, Great Thumbnail Picture! 5UBWAY. lulz.
If you get just plain salad, or ham or turkey, no cheese or sauce, it's quite low in calories compared to other fast food options. Once you start hitting the pepperoni, cheese, sauce, etc, then it shoots up to hamburger territory
It's a lot more filling than, say a Whopper, which has a comparable number of calories. ~3000kJ for a footlong as one meal isn't bad so long as your other two meals are in line and you aren's snacking throughout the day.
Great Thumbnail Picture! 5UBWAY. lulz.
Initially we had this however their US-based lawyers didn't like it claiming slant font in white and yellow is still violating their trademark.
Next time give them the Comic Sans treatment.
Edit: too late
Just a minor edit, how about $ub4ay
Yum I love the subway melt thanks OP :)
was there tonight (glenferri vic).
no sign of 7$ foot long.
had some $2 toAsties instead.
toasted roll with choice of avacardo, cheese, or garlic butter as side dish.
Subway claims thumbnails infringe copyright? LOL
Wow. Genuine 2009 prices!
Had one last Tuesday from Bull Creek WA. Had been broken into, front window boarded up. Staff didn't get the joke when I asked if their footlongs also came in a plain brown wrapper. (Asberger's sauce anyone?)
Had one yesterday! Yum! The girl at the Engadine store made it perfect.. you should've seen how well she laid out the ingredients. It was a work of art. You would've creamed your pants. Wish more people in this world would take pride in their work.. or at least just be good at whatever they do.
Did she cream in your sandwich?
I have been going to Kalamunda subway after nightshift and getting foot longs with bacon, 2 poached eggs, cheese and all the salads for…..$5.
Heavy food before sleep :o
Also, for a limited time wash down your favourite Sub with any 600ml Coca-Cola variety* for just $3! (*Excludes Powerade)
Great deal. Thanks OP :)
They charged me full price, so I've messaged Subway via Facebook with the receipt (The special is listed on their Facebook page).
Nice
