are they assuming tradies eat junk food only? lol

    • +7

Visit your local KFC during lunchtime , it almost feels like lunch at tradies school canteen :)

      • +8

Or your local petrol station in the morning and see how many buy a Sausage Roll and Ice Break.

Tradies also love having their ego strocked by being told that their job somehow makes them special.

Look at ute ads. Tradie undies ads. BCF ads. They need constant validation like children.

    • If so, that assumption is broadly correct

does the deodorant go on the burgers or fries?

an admission the food is hot garbage…

I'm not sure what the other Carl's Jr stores are like around the country but jeez the one on the Central Coast is very average. It's like an overpriced version of Hungry Jack's.

    • +4

Funnily enough, after they went into administration last year, one of the Carl's Jr sites in Sydney reopened as a Hungry Jack's store!

      • Sounds like an upgrade to me!

    • -2

A more expensive, but much better, version of Hungry Jacks.

    • +1

The last time I went to Hungry Jack's was about 3 months ago (prior to that years), and it was the worst burger I've had in recent memory. It was slop - could have chewed it with no teeth. They say "the burgers are better" but that's like saying the sky is green. Grill'd absolutely dumps on the big fast food chains for burgers.

      • Ask for a fresh one. Some outlets are dodgy

        • i maintain hungry jacks is pretty much the "Whopper Burger Company"

          just buy that

they are consitent in that - std. whopper or w/ cheese or even vegan - they dont f that up

unfortuunately they do F up a lot of their other burgers

Carl's Jr? I thought that place closed down.

    • +1

20 out of the 49 Stores have closed down. 4 Continue to trade in administration, 25 stores are independently owned and aren't in administration and trade as normal (including all stores in SA).

      Sex cauldron?!

    • There is none out at 3064 , honestly I don't know where there is a store anymore .

  • I’m surprised they are still around. Food was horrible and overpriced when I tried it a few years ago. Never been back.

See Hamza's comment, they're obviously struggling.

      Agreed that the burgers sucked.

    • Recently tried Carl's in NZ and found the food to be pretty good on both occasions. And with a buy 1 get 1 free offer, the price was also acceptable.

  • +3

its so weird they giving deodorant

    • +1

      its s bit insulting tbh

tradies have a right to be upset if they knew how to read

    • Yeah, I don't get it. If they're implying tradies smell bad, have some free deo at the door, alongside the disinfectant spray.

Why not bring the more famous burger places to Australia instead. Like White Castle, In and Out Burger, Wendys. Carls Jnr is the worst of the lot.

    • +1

      Wendy's just started FYI

The chain signed a deal in 2023 to rollout the new restaurants in Australia, with the goal to open 200 venues by 2034, following a successful pop-up event in Sydney.
The first store is located on Cavill Avenue in Surfer's Paradise on the Gold Coast.

at that cost a drink should be included, not an extra $2

    • Maybe ask them to swap the Deodorant with a drink? lol

      • maybe ill just drink the 160ml ha

  • +1

I sure hope they make the tradies apply the deodorant before they come into the store

    • +1

I’ve not really experienced that with tradies. Uber(eats) drivers, 7 eleven attendants, and trolley collectors, on the other hand…

  • Used to include nuggets and a soft drink for same price.

So theyve 'traded' those for deodorent (on special for $3 at Woolies), wierd combo.

    • That old Tradies deal with nuggets and drink was $3 more, $16.95.

Tradies Deal - 1x Star Value Chicken & Cheese, 1x Famous Star with Cheese, 4x Star Nuggets, medium Fries and medium Drink $16.95

  • I'm not sure if it's just my local store, but Carls Jr is consistently bloody awesome. Friends look forward to coming to my place as Carls is often on the menu. I love Hungries, but CJs is just so delicious that they've almost topped the whole category for me.

    • probably very store dependent.
I've only tried the Central Coast and the one near Wollongong.
Central Coast one was quite average. The one near Wollongong was pleasantly one of the best burger and fries I've had.

Welcome to clone of a cloned clone experimental island, where everyone is in their dedicated seat line… All behave templated. Eat, SH, watch, consume, use, abuse same things… Yey…

    • What are you on about?

  • Huh, turns out there's one of these down the road from my office. I'll try anything once!
