Notable products

Playstation 4 from Dick Smith - $399.20 after 20% off

PlayStation 4 from The Gamesmen $396 after 20% off

XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle - $478.40 + $5 shipping after 20% off

Nexus 5 (16GB, Black) $320 iPad Air 16GB Celluar $540.8 Shipped and etc

Since Video Games and Consoles are mentioned, I think PS4 and Xbox One are included. However I am not 100% sure.

Eg) PS4 @ Dick Smiths is $485 at the moment, but after the 20% discount it should be $388
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Playstation-4-Console-/25156…

Update 1 : As many of you already predicted, Dick Smiths actually raised prices, so now PS4 is $503.95($499+$4.95 for shipping) and Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle) is $602.95.

After the 20% discount(it applies to the shipping fee as well), PS4 should be $403.16 and Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle) should be $482.36.

Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle)
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XboxOne-500GB-TitanFall-Console-B…

Update 2 : You might want to check out Kogan Ebay store. They are selling phones & tablets(including iphones and Galaxy S5) under Toy section, so the 20% discount should be applied to those phones & tablets. Plus, it seems like Kogan listed Xbox One on their store as well, but it is same price as what DSE is selling at the moment($498, after the discout $398.4 thanks arena sales).

Update 3 : By the way, I would recommend you guys to keep your eyes on Ebay Group deal. If my memory serves me right, last time Apple MacBook Air 11" 128GB was only $500 after the 20% discount. Hopefully, some similar deals are available on 21/07/2014

http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/

Update 4 : Many mobile phones, talbets and consoles that are sold by Kogan are no longer listed under the "toy" section. Make sure what you are purchasing is under the right category, so the discount can be applied.

Update 5 : Apparently PS4 is "sold out" @ DSE, just a day before, the deal starts.

Update 6 : PS4 is back on DSE ebay store @ $499(thanks kamoi) which should be $400-ish after the 20$ discount. However it says "Limited quantity remaining"

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Playstation-4-Console-/25156…

Update 7 : Sony Xperia Z, Z1, Z2and compact are still under Toy section(thanks grab_ur_freebies)

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=&_osacat=220&_trksid…

Udpate 8 : Some ipad are still under Toy section(thanks andri77), including ipad mini with retina 16GB white which should be $352 (after disc)

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=iphone+5s&LH_BIN=1&_…

Update 9 : Some Samsung smartphones(including Galaxy S5) are still listed under the toy section.

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Other-/1039/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw…

However, I can not confirm the 20% discount can be applied to those smartphones, tablets and consoles that are sold by Kogan

Coupon code is CTOYTASTIC, good luck everyone

PS4 Console, Genuine PS4 Controller, Charging Dock (DSE), The Last of Us Remastered - $533

    • Damn same here. Although I bought the DOBE charging dock for $20 less 20% from XserendipityX

  • PS4 $380 (included 20%) worth it?

  • is 500gb enough actually? can external HDD (portable ones) do too?

    • No support for external yet. I think you can plug it in and recognize it but you can't install games on it.

The internal drive is user replaceable though. You can put a 1TB in, or even an SSD.

  • It also applies on used items. I just bought 4 3ds and WiiU games and saves $30-ish. Cool.

Yes, be careful - I purchased a board game from an overseas seller through ebay.com.au and when coming to pay using PayPal I receive the error: X-STIC: This Redemption Code cannot be used to pay for items in this auction category.
Have now had to contact eBay to hopefully get this resolved.

    • +3

      Huh!
I have checked this thread off and on all day but not found anything to buy - I don't play consoles and the other electronics were a bit expensive for an impulse purchase, but you prompted me to look at my board game wish list and there was good money to be saved! Thanks.

same here, ended up getting this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/310765924767?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…, oh well, good to scare the shit out of my co-worker and neighbour I guess..

        • I'm not really a video game person either, so I'm glad that I helped out a couple of OzBargainers.
Not a problem guys - I ended up purchasing The Office Clue game :)
Also good for those that want to purchase Cards Against Humanity.

  • what games to play on ps4?

    • Destiny (Beta now, full game later)
      Infamous
TLOU if you missed it on PS3

Not a whole lot going for it just yet.

      • bought:

        Tomb Raider
        TLOU (pre-order)
WatchDog (bloody marketing everywhere in Melbourne atm)

        • your missing wolfenstein, murdered: soul suspect is also a fun playthrough unless you've got it on another platform

        • Watch Dogs was disappointing. The hacking feels very unfulfilling and rather scripted. Just a modern day variant of a magic spell, but is context sensitive.

The other two are great choices. I don't like what TRDE does to Lara's face, but it's one of my favorite games of last year. Probably my second favorite after TLOU.

    • nothing at the moment. wait for Order 1886 & Uncharted 4

    Pink one for the missus!

    • Umm that may be fake

      • who cares? missus always used original luxury items (bags…if you get it?). so give them a fake one (well something fake!)..

        • Because they don't work as well as genuine ones

      • Well consider at that price it looks good that's all it matters for the missus.

        Nothing compare to expensive bags

Don't see the point of ps4 I have plenty of backlog on ps3 can have 2 players best choice for me

  • what games do people recommend?
no point getting a PS4 and no games to play

    • Save your money and wait a few years. Play the older games you never got around to playing in the meantime. I bought PS4 at launch and all I've played on it is a tiny bit of Resogun. Though to be fair, I do all my multiplatform gaming on PC.

  • Got COD Ghosts Hardened Edition for PS4 for $48. Now to see if theres anything else I should buy :)

What if people dont want to play crap games though?

    • Awesome, I've just pre-order one as well at that price. I was going to get wolfenstein as well but I've got watchdog, blackflag and kill zone to finish. I thought ps4 has no games :/

  • Im burning every other arcade stick listed games/consoles only xgaming have theirs computers/
Input Peripherals what the!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I was gonna buy 4 too for me and my mates

  • Guys could you help me? I am gonna go overseas and my little brother doesnt know english. Could u tell me if I can select spanish language for a PS4 game if I buy it here? If so,could you link me any new "Knack" game with the best price available that it can be send to Sydney? Thank you so much!!!!

    • I think Knack is only in English

      • And do you know the best price for it? Cuz I have seen it @ebay for ~$50

  • Well I'm glad that's over. 1K later. Thank goodness I bought something for the GF.

Can't wait to see what ebay does next Sunday.. or the one after that. You should probably avoid this site…

  • +1

Waited till the last few minutes of the promotion. Bought an Astro A50 headset. Had reservations about it all week. Had buyer's remorse all day even before I bought it. But bought it anyway because I'm dumb.

Spent the whole day comparing it to non-gaming headsets but didn't have enough to research. Wish I could have an extra day. It was down to A50, AT AD700X, or Sony MA900. The other two were not discounted by ebay specials but were around the same price. But I would have needed to buy a Mixamp for another $125 if I wanted to use those for consoles, which in my limited time for decision making tipped the scales in the A50's favor. I'm quite sure those other two will have better sound however.

    • +3

I'm also dumb. I almost bought a PS4 and LoU Remastered last minute even though I spent the whole day telling myself I don't need them.

Lucky for me I was greeted by a "X-STIC: This Redemption Code has expired and can no longer be used." message after logging on to PayPal.

      Saved $444.76 :D

      • +1

Exactly me, but mine went through. $532 later… got the PS4, extra DS4, charging station and Watch Dogs.

      • I actually think over time you'd come to be happy you got the PS4. The price is fair, despite you not needing it right now. Some good games will eventually release on it, and if you bought it later, you'd probably be facing the same cognitive dissonance (aka buyer's remorse) you faced today.

In my case, I bought what I know to be overpriced headphones, even after discount.

But I guess saving money is a good thing too.

P.S. A lot of people bought PS4s or thought about buying them despite not being wowed by its current library. Did any of you guys buy an XB1?

        • +2

i thought about it, but the prospect of holding a halobox one is just too much to lose focus with now

  • Bought a preowned ps4 with infamous second son and cod ghosts, 6 months old for only 448 with discount. Bought in the last 2 minutes of deal. SICKO.

    • +3

you could of gotten it new for only a bit more if you were organised :P

      • With infamous second son and cod ghosts. better imo

        • +1

You saved about $50 off buying new. You lost 6 months of warranty and have to rely on the original seller if you need warranty. Unless he provides the original invoice, then you can take it to where he bought it from. However, if he originally bought it online, it will be under his name and account which will complicate things.

  • What a bugger. Seller didn't reply with a new invoice for combined shipping all arvo but just happened to gave me feedback straight after my payment half hour ago.

    • Seller can set up auto feedback on certain triggers like when you leave feedback, make payment, etc, when using 3rd party mass listing apps like auctiva, sellerize, garage sale etc.

      • eBay's own Selling Manager Pro can also do this.

        • Ok, comment rescinded.
          Cheers

      • Like when 'posted' comes up at 2am right after paying. I hate that.

    ps4 dispatched already apparently.

  • Little worried… I ordered a PS4 from DSE at 10.04AM or something (before they were restocked with free shipping) and then later in the day a Dualshock 4 from DSE in a separate transaction.

Got an email today saying the Dualshock order has been accepted and is to be shipped. That "accepted" worries me - will my PS4 order not be accepted? It'll be super lame if I end up with a controller and no console…

    • when did you get the email? i got my shipped notification email at 10.02 this morning

    • I'm hoping to get some sort of email later today or tomorrow, mainly because the wait is killing me. That would suck if the PS4 didn't come though, it's why I was a little worried about ordering extra controllers or charging docks. Didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of accessories I wouldn't use in case DSE. I ordered around the sametime as you too. On the + side if you have a PS3 or PC the Ps4 controller is somewhat compatible with both? You might be able to get a refund on it if DSE is nice enough. It'd be a pretty douche move to send a customer a controller without the console.

    • I'm in the same boat. Ordered the PS4 at 10:12 am and then later in the afternoon the controller. Controller has shipped (11:55 this morning), and nothing regarding the PS yet.

      • i ordered at under 100 sold, got my ps4 shipping notification at 10:01am this morning!

        • any idea how fast startrack are? can i expect it tomorrow? tracking number only states "notified" so far..

hope i get it tomorrow… i have a day off ha

    • I ordered PS4 console and a few PS4 accessories in the same transaction. Order acceptance emails came through only for the accessories. I've emailed them asking why the PS4 console is not listed, haven't got reply yet. I'm definitely gonna make a lot of noise if the console doesn't come through in the end!

      • Yeah… all these lack of notifications on the PS4 are starting to get more and more concerning. It did say it was estimated on or before the 28th of July for delivery (could be a week after or more even). I don't mind waiting a week or 2 for it to arrive but if it takes too long to get so much as an email saying it's coming then I'll probably start contacting them.

  • Little worried… I ordered a PS4 from DSE at 10.04AM or something (before they were restocked with free shipping) and then later in the day a Dualshock 4 from DSE in a separate transaction.

  • Seems like the only thing anybody really bought from this sale was PS4 consoles, games and accessories (and the occasional bike). Anybody else get anything interesting? Personally, I had my eye on a few Transformers but passed in the end (way overpriced).

    • Children's books. Lots of them

      • Yeah, I had a look, but the vast majority of the stuff I wanted could be had for a lot cheaper (or about the same price) from Book Depository, Abebooks or elsewhere (check booko.com.au!)

    • yeah i was going to buy a action man, but then i realised i'm not 5yo anymore

A board game. Lots of modern euro-style games never get much of a discount and often have high shipping. So 20% off including postage was a win.

Funny that you ask, it was actually a pretty delightful one. It was this unbroken monster specimen. I was quite proud of it at the time.

But I'm still very upset that I missed out on the phone…

          Ahhhhrrgg! TMI! TMI!

        • I read OzBargain monster threads for the delightful repartee.

    • You can get it online for around $400 delivered. Which still is a very good price.
Kogan's $441 price is as crap as your delightful stool.

      • When you say online, is this eBay?

        • +1

          Not from fleebay.
          Its from T-Dimension.

They usually ship same day and after shipping, it takes around 3-4 days to arrive at your place, ALOT faster than Kogan, and if you have any warranty issues, their warranty process is around 1-2 weeks with free Fedex Return Postage. Where reports from Whirlpool points to Kogan's Warranty process to be upwards of around 1 month.

          Black: $401.07

          White: $396.90
          http://www.t-dimension.com/revamp/-c-0/lgpro-2-d838-4g-lte-1…

With warranty claims, to speed it up instead of email exchanges. Just video the issue and you trying to fix it, then post it to Youtube and send them a link of it requesting for a RMA, they will then send you their Fedex Account details and then you call Fedex to pick it up and off it goes.

        • +1

@lplau: T-Dimension are awesome. Bought some tablets from them on Friday (the free worldwide shipping option) and they were at my door on Monday 8am!

  • just realised that the shipping date for the xperia I purchased via kogan is 19-27Aug - a month in the very best case scenario; shame on me.

    • If you look at Kogans feedback on eBay, lots of people commented on how fast the shipping was, and a few people say it arrived several weeks ahead of what they expected. I think I've seen similar comments on OzBargain regarding Kogans last lot of phones. So there is a chance it could arrive a bit sooner… I may just be being optimistic though, as I also bought a phone from Kogan yesterday.

      • doubt it, still waiting for my ipad, month later..

        • Both my macbook and iphone from the last ebay deal arrived well ahead of the due date.

      • i'm in the same situation as you. Phones from Kogan's site says 'leaves warehouse in 1-2 wks' so hoping its the same here.

  • One reason why I don't trust DSE is because of the headaches I had to get my chromecast from the earlier deal.

    • I ordered mine during the $39 delivered deal, I think on a Thurs, received it the following Monday. Didn't have any issues.

      • Well you are the lucky one, I chased via email, facebook etc End up 10 days after order

  • Checked the normal dse website, apparently ps4 stock coming in on 25th july, this wait will kill me, games have already been shipped but not the console

    • The stock for DSE Online and DSE Ebay might be different stock though. At least I really hope it is.

      • +1

        Its sorta the same.
DSE Ebay uses stock from Warehouse.
Where as DSE Online shows stock for every store + warehouse.

So basically if DSE Online shows no stock then DSE Ebay will also be no stock.
Where as if DSE eBay says no stock then DSE Online may still show stocks, which it shows from the stores itself, however generally speaking they will not let you order it, since they do not ship from a specific store and only from warehouse.

        • Just to add ps4 console listing removed from dse online
