I couldn't really see any previous deals on this TV. After lots of in-store comparisons, my wife and I both agreed (unfortunately) that this just looked better than the TCL C855 and we felt the price difference was worth it.

  Big difference in price though, is it really worth $1000 more than a c855?

    That's really up to the individual. I was really pushing for the C855 but my wife could not get past the "blurriness" of the TCL. Their demo videos seemed to be deliberately displaying slow-mo content, and not much of it being "natural". The colours and blacks I thought looked great, but there was something about the motion that felt off.
    Now whether I would have noticed this when its setup in my home, and I'm sitting a few meters away … who knows.

      I've played around with the motion settings in the TCL85" 855 and with some tweaking you can definitely improve the motion and make it appear smoother. Haven't noticed any problems now except when there is fast flashing in scenes like lightning, some pixely artefacts can be seen if you are looking closely.

    B7 supposedly better motion handling and pq, but up to the buyer if they are happy enough for that to spend the extra $1k+

    I'm a huge advocate of TCL, but I think it's definitely worth getting the Sony at this price.

    I think it's only the X90L from Sony's current lineup that does (but that felt like a big step down from the Bravia 7)
